...A couple of summer's ago, my husband gutted our old kitchen and put me in a nice new one with all the mod cons, including my new halogen hob! He told me I needed to be careful when cleaning it and the maufacturer's instruction for cleaning recommended Hob Brite, by Homecare.
I tootled off to Tesco and found it very easily, in with the rest of the household cleaning products. It cost at the time about £1.25 but it's since gone up in price a little and the last bottle I bought cost me £1.39 from Sainsbury's - the bottle contains 300ml, and to my knowledge does not come in any different sizes.
The first time I used my new hob I'd cooked us all a spaghetti bolognese and there were a few splashes of sauce sprinkled over the hob. I left the hob to cool down before I attempted to clean it, as directed on the bottle's instructions...

The packaging, is unmissable being luminous orange with a blue lid, not the most complimenting colour combination but it's bright and stands out on the cleaning products shelf. The logo plain white writing and a hob photo with a sparkly star on the front emphasising the clean sparkle. On the side of the bottle are 3 ridges which are little grooves to place your figners in to have a firm hold on the bottle.
Inside a bottle you get 300ml of the Hob Brite it is a squeezy bottle. You shake this bottle before using then you squeeze out about a miniature circle of the white liquid. You using some kitchen roll or cloth and wipe the product over the hob. The smell for some reason reminds me of suntan lotion. It is creamy smelling, but clean eough, quite fresh.
Once you have the Hob Brite on the hob you take the kitchen roll and wipe it trying to get...

Being a very small bottle, I somehow expected the liquid to be thick in consistency, but in fact it is quite runny, similar to Cif, and it, too, is white in colour. It's important to shake the bottle well, before use, because the contents have a tendency to separate when left standing, and you end up with a wishy-washy, watery mixture, which will prove ineffective in cleaning your hob.
To use Hob-Brite, just squirt a very small amount directly on to the hob, tear off a sheet of kitchen roll, and gently rub the liquid into the stain or mark, until you've worked it all in. Don't moisten the kitchen paper, as this will simply absorb all the liquid. When you can no longer see any white liquid, grab another piece...

...the tidiest of cooks I did spill a little flour on to the hob as I transferred the meat but, as the hob didn't get hot, the flour didn't burn at all - excellent. Once I had finished all that was necessary was a quick wipe over on the hob with a damp cloth and it was as good as new.
Would I recommend it?

I certainly would. If like me you live an area where there is no gas this is an excellent way to have a responsive hob which is fast to use and simplicity to keep clean. You can use it to time your cooking if you wish, it is 90% energy efficient as compared to 40% for gas and it is safe to use as only the area where the pan sits gets warm.
I love it - not only is a dream to use but I can put it wherever I want as long as I have a power connection so I can (and do) use it on different worktops in the kitchen...

HOW TO USE HOB BRITE

Make sure the hob is turned off .
Apply the cleaner with paper towel or clean cloth . I usually use kitchen paper . It is better to use a small amount as you can always add more .
Rub the surface lightly .
Rinse the residue .
Dry the hob with a clean cloth or kitchen paper .
As I dry I sort of polish at the same time and I have been pleased with the results . My hob comes up a treat and looks as good as new . If you are cooking a lot for a large family you may need to use this product more often . I always try and wipe up spillages a little as they happen as it safes time long term .

...I was once told that I was just like Marco Pierre White. Taking this as a compliment I mearly assummed that they were referring to how incredibly talented I am when working with food. Sadly this was not what they were getting at. I have recently discovered that it was more down to the fact that a lot of the time I say things which make no sense whatsoever! This is one way is what can make Marco's Hell's Kitchen so funny.
I never watched it when Gordan Ramsey was doing it. But since Marco has taken over I've become completely addicted to it.
Down to the fact that they've cut down the programme from what was 90 minutes to the hour, the amount of cooking where we actually got to see how they were doing it has been decreased. Appareantly due to the fact that ITV are 'skint' they couldn't afford to get any celebrities of a high standard...

Therefore, when I saw The Big W had a sale on recently, I was happy to snap up this product for half price. (Expect to pay between £3 and £4 for a 250ml bottle normally.)
Te Tao has been a well-known range for quite a while now, but it wasn’t one I had ever tried, feeling the products were rather over-priced. They do a range of shampoos for various hair types (see www.tetao.com for further details) but this one caught my eye because it is a deep, dark orange-red colour and had the word ‘henna’ in it. As you probably know, henna has been used for centuries to dye hair in a more natural way than using bleaches and chemicals.

The salesman arrived slightly early, but was very pleasant. We showed him our kitchen, made some coffee and sat at the table ready to discuss our options.
As I said, we knew roughly what we wanted and where we wanted the items to go in the design. The salesman disagreed with our design and wanted to do his own. I specifically said I didn't want the cooker/hob in the corner of the room as this wastes a lot of space, but he continued to draw it in the plan. He talked a lot while he was drawing up his plan, which lead to mistakes being made and things being put in the wrong place. Time was passing and my 3 children were moaning about tea, yet he continued to talk and talk and talk. To be honest, I just wanted him to give us a price...

...Earlier this year, lacking the funds for a fancy flat screen TFT or LCD monitor to replace my 4 year old Dell monitor I decided to opt for the Relisys TE 770 model CRT model. Having never even heard of the brand name before, I was rather skeptical.
My sole reason for buying the TE 770 was that it was the only black monitor currently on offer in the shop, put simply I wanted my new monitor to compliment my other hardware components.
Setting the model up was quite easy, a power cable is supplied with the monitor, though you may need some help from another person when lifting the monitor onto a desk or workspace.
You do need to plug in two leads, the monitor's input cable, and the power cable. The input cable must be slotted into the American style 3 - pin slot in the back of your tower/ flat case unit.
