Advantages: A clever comedy panel shoq Disadvantages: Some people might not 'get it'...
...Thou shall not question Stephen Fry?to quote the song ?Thou Shall Always Kill? by Scroobius Pip?and with the programme QI that shall always be the case.
Produced by Talkback Thames, QI (Quite Interesting) has been on our televisions since September 2003 running for six series, permanently hosted by Stephen Fry, it is a comedy panel show which always questions your own intelligence. Until late 2008 it was shown on BBC Two, but has since moved to BBC One?oh, and Dave of course, where it seems to be played religiously everyday along with Top Gear, Mock The Week and Fifth Gear. But never mind, at least that increases the number of people who?ve seen the show!!
The concept of the show works around Fry asking usually seemingly obvious questions with obvious answers?But most of the answers end up being extremely obscure, making it...
Advantages: Good colour and texture, smells lovely, enhances colour Disadvantages: Expensive for what it does
...for this shampoo is Te Tao Chinese Herbal Therapy – Warm Henna Red – Colour with Herbs – Natural Colour Enhancing Shampoo (for red or auburn hair). Phew. Still, that pretty much covers everything.
The bottle itself is nothing special to look at; it’s see-through plastic although the lid is black with a bright orange-red circle on the top, so you can easily spot the one you want. (Except, knowing my luck, they’d be on the top shelf so the chance of seeing what’s on the lid is pretty unlikely!)
I was interested to see this contains something called Madder Root! (Some may say I’m mad enough already.) This is apparently a vibrant red herb to naturally dye the hair. The other main ingredients are sage (boosts colour, stimulates the scalp and enhances shine) and henna itself.
The colour is certainly...
...WHAT IS QI?
QI is a panel game. QI stands for Quite Interesting. Panelists are given points for being correct or for being 'quite interesting'. QI is shown on BBC2 (at the moment it is on at 10pm on Sunday). When they show the new series you can see the next episode straight after on BBC4. There are also lots of repeats on my new favourite TV channel Dave (if you haven't seen this yet - tune in!).
WHO TAKES PART?
The host of QI is Stephen Fry, who I think is one of the funniest men in Britain. There are four panelists and all apart from one are changed every week. Alan Davies, who is always present on Fry's right-hand side has become something of an icon of the show. Other regular panelists include Jo Brand, Bill Bailey, Rory McGrath (who is amazingly knowledgeable), Jeremy Clarkson (hilarious) and Sean Locke.

Review of BBC2: Quite Interesting
Advantages: Excellent highly defined display. Good for the price. Disadvantages: Can develop faults over time.
...Earlier this year, lacking the funds for a fancy flat screen TFT or LCD monitor to replace my 4 year old Dell monitor I decided to opt for the Relisys TE 770 model CRT model. Having never even heard of the brand name before, I was rather skeptical.
My sole reason for buying the TE 770 was that it was the only black monitor currently on offer in the shop, put simply I wanted my new monitor to compliment my other hardware components.
Setting the model up was quite easy, a power cable is supplied with the monitor, though you may need some help from another person when lifting the monitor onto a desk or workspace.
You do need to plug in two leads, the monitor's input cable, and the power cable. The input cable must be slotted into the American style 3 - pin slot in the back of your tower/ flat case unit.
The power cable has two ends...

Review of Relisys TE 770
Advantages: It's the Specials! Disadvantages: One or two tracks not so good.
...Specials - The Specials
It's 1979 I am 16 going on 17, left school and am a scooter skin, which basically meant I rode a scooter (Lambretta SX 200) and had a skinhead.
I was into Ska in a big way, but old style skinhead Ska, The Pioneers, The Upsetters etc. Then something happened, we got British Ska, The Beat, Selector, Madness (early on) and the best of all, The Specials. I have two vinyl LP's left in my house, this one (very scratched) and one by a band called Back To The Planet. This LP rocked, it got played over and over from '79 to '81 (when The Jam took over for me).
~~~~~The Band~~~~~
The band themselves seemed to consist of hundreds of people, though in fact there were:
Jerry Dammers - Keyboards
Terry Hall - Vocals
Neville Staple - Vocals and percussion
Roddy radiation - Guitar
(Sir) Horace Gentleman - Bass...
Advantages: Healthy and tasty Disadvantages: Expensive
...Background:
We are always told these days breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so lately I had been making a conscious effort to start my day well. I think, as we all get older we become a bit more aware of our own mortality and start to think more healthily. So with that in mind I have started purchasing Special K, as I have seen the adverts and I would like to loose a little weight without having to seem like I?m on a diet.
About Kellogg?s:
I have known about the Kellogg Company since being a young boy. In those days you didn?t get shop?s own product like you do know you only got the original and genuine article. The company was founded in 1906 by Keith Kellogg with Corn Flakes being their first successful cereal that established the company.
Since then the company had gone from strength to strength...
Review of Kellogg's Special K
Advantages: witty, clever and trivialy informative Disadvantages: Sun Readers may find it confusing
...pursuit and you will understand the scope. Up until now, I guess, you are thinking sounds pretty normal, unoriginal even. So here is the twist. Points are not awarded for the correct answer, or even any answer. Points are handed out on the basis of how interesting the response is. It has only to be relevant, correct is a bonus but the important thing is that it has to be "Quite Interesting". Being wrong is not important, as long as you are not wrong in a boring way. The effect that this has is to make the show flow in an informal, witty and clever way, with the emphasis being on intelligent and witty dialogue rather than factual accuracy.
As I said at the start, it's the chemistry of the panellists that makes the show work, which is after all more about banter and wit than facts and point scoring. With this in mind the panellist are...
Advantages: Fun, educational, entertaining, hands on Disadvantages: Very big (can't see it all), can't take pictures of exhibits
...Te Papa Tongarewa museum ("Te Papa" or "Our Place" for short) is New Zealand's national museum and is right in the heart of Wellington next to the docks. If you only have time to visit one thing in Wellington, visit Te Papa. Many of the collections are online, so if you can't make it all the way to New Zealand, then have a look at the web pages instead. Originally dating from 1992 (or 1998 for the present incarnation in its iconic building), this is a modern museum suitable for children and adults alike and the exhibits are fun and often interactive, whilst still being educational.
Most of the exhibitions are free, but you pay if you want to go on a guided tour. Lifts going to every floor help with accessibility and are useful for everyone - the museum goes up to floor level 7, so we were quite worn out by the end of our trip...
Advantages: does what it says, smells lovely Disadvantages: slightly expensive.
...For as long as I can remember I have been using Head and Shoulders shampoo as I suffer with a dry flaky scalp. This works well, but recently my hairdresser advised me not to use it as often as I do as it was to harsh for me.
So over the last week or so I have been searching for a shampoo that wouldn't be has harsh but still gave me the effect of my usual shampoo.
I spent ages looking on the shelves and spotted a shampoo that I had seen a while back but never bothered with as I didn't know much about it.
WHAT IS IT CALLED?
TE TAO (chinese herbal therapy) TEA FOR HAIR
This shampoo gently cleanses your hair and regulates dry scalp, so it seemed ideal for what I needed from a shampoo. It contains mild chrysanthemum, lycium berries and eclipta.
It cost me £2.99 for a 250ml/8.4floz bottle. This was from Tesco.
I started...
Take one hopeless Wizard with an advanced sense of preservation. Call him Rincewind. Have him somehow save the world several times without ever getting the credit for it. Have him in innumerable tight spots with no way out but have him stay alive throughout everything. Place him on a remote island where nothing can possibly happen to him, and where he can enjoy his favourite state of being - boredom (because nothing is trying to kill him / eat him / rip his limbs off).
Take a university full of Wizards. Inhabit this university with several pompous and dangerous characters, and some absolute lunatics. Head of the pile is a wizard who thrives more on pragmatism that creativity of pure magic, Arch-Chancellor Ridcully. Assisting or hindering him are the Dean...
