Not everyone's cup of tea...boom, boom!
Review of Lipton Ice Tea by
leofluffy69
Advantages: refreshing, tasty!
Disadvantages: Not everyone's cup of tea
...INTRODUCTION
-----------------------
I first heard of ice tea in America. It was sold in huge litre sized paper cups and was very popular. I tried some and was very impressed. I was only 7 at the time and wasn't keen on real tea but thought this was great. I never tasted Ice Tea again until 2002 at a conference.
The conference had provided Lipton Ice Tea goodies such as cool bags, T-Shirts and bottles of Lipton Ice. Remembering my experience in America I opened the bottle and started to swig away. I stopped in disgust the taste was sweet and my throat felt dry. No amount of ice tea could quench my thirst, I was very disappointed. Near the end of the weekend I had a glass of ice tea with ice and lemon and started to fall in love with it. Not only was it free but I found a refreshing way to drink it.
WHAT IS ICE TEA...

Not My Cup of Tea...
Review of Asda Peppermint Tea Bags by
angeelu
Advantages: Many health benefits, in particular in relation to digestion
Disadvantages: Not refreshing, peculiar taste
...I've always loved minty flavours, though until recently I'd never tried peppermint tea. On a trip to Asda a couple of months ago I noticed that they did own brand of peppermint tea bags for a reasonable price for a box of 20 so in my trolley they went.
The minty green coloured box promised 'an infusion, made with peppermint leaves for a refreshing minty flavour'. Ingredients were listed just as 'Selected Peppermint Leaves' and the picture on the box of a glass cup filled with golden liquid with a sprig of peppermint by its side looked tasty, healthy and refreshing.
Benefits of Peppermint Tea
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Peppermint tea is suggested to have a variety of health benefits, in particular linked to the digestive area of the body. It's supposed to help relieve symptoms of an irratible bowel and can help soothe stomach cramps...
Not really my cup of tea.
Review of Twinings Lady Grey Tea by
MAFARRIMOND
Advantages: Low caffeine. Pleasant citrus taste.
Disadvantages: Low strength. Too delicately flavoured.
...Everyone who knows me is aware of how much I value my cup of tea especially first thing in the morning. My preferred way of drinking this essential English brew is hot, black and strong with a hint of lemon.
Over the years I have experimented with a whole host of tea varieties and blends in an attempt to find the perfect cup of tea. I do have my favourites. However, Lady Grey tea isn’t one of them.
Lady Grey isn’t actually a variety of tea but a blend of teas that has been flavoured and scented. Twinings describe the tea as “A sumptuous blend of oriental teas, orange and lemon peel, flavored with a hint of Bergamot”.
Anyone who has read my review on Earl Grey tea with know the origins of that tea but to give a reminder, I will summarize the story of how that tea involved and continue with an explanation of how the Lady Grey Tea...
This is definitely my cup of tea!
Review of Twinings Lotus Green Tea by
steelmagnolias
Advantages: Good for you, refreshing, pleasant taste.
Disadvantages: Small box size, maybe too mild for people used to stronger teas.
...!), and it can even help prevent tooth decay by killing bacteria that causes dental plaque. In short, this stuff is good for you!
Background:-
As a big fan of tea (three cups minimum per day, of regular black tea or Earl Grey, with milk), I'm very open to trying new teas, particular ones that boast such positive benefits for health. My first experience of green tea was not a pleasant one, I bought some on special offer at some supermarket (presumably to shift them - not exactly flying off the shelves..!). It was a can (!), served cold; needless to say it was extremely bitter and unpleasant, and put me off green tea for a good five years or so!
The other day whilst in Tesco, I saw this on the shelves: Twinings Green Tea with Orange and Lotus Flower. I was with a friend who had tried this tea and she recommended it to me. I put my previous...
You will feel better after a cup of tea
Review of Tetley Tea Bags by
Louise90
Advantages: Great tasting tea. Makes the perfect brew.
Disadvantages: None
...Goodness knows how long tea has been around for. Forever I think! Britain is, and always has been I reckon, a nation of tea drinkers. I think slowly though we are becoming more American with all the coffee shops and cafe's sprouting up all over the place. Not that I'm complaining! I have a cup of tea first thing in the morning, then it's coffee for the rest of the day. And I always love to have my cup of tea last thing at night as well.
What is is about tea we love so much? You know how it is. When we get up in the mornings the first thing we do is put the kettle on and make a brew.
And to make the perfect brew, you will need to purchase a box of Tetley teabags. Personally, I prefer the drawstring ones, which are the ones I'm going to tell you about today. I paid £1.54 for a box of 80 teabags. I know they...
