Teasmade
Review of Micromark MM9889 TEA Maker by
larmal2
Advantages: Stylish, compact and easy to use.
Disadvantages: Poor durability
...I'm puzzled by a couple of reviews I have seen for this item, as firstly; I didn't get the free cups everybody speaks about... ; - { Secondly, everyone says you can't get two cups of tea out of this machine!?? Hello!! The teapot holds a great deal of water/tea - as much as any other standard teapot, and so if your tea maker is only ciphering enough for one cup of tea, either; you are not putting enough water in the tank to fill it, or half of the water is not being ciphened out of the tank into the teapot, and therefore you must have a faulty machine!
Anyway, my experience was both positive and negative with this particular model; On the positive side, my previous model that was by Swan, every now and again the tea would taste horrid - for no particular reason, but I guess this had something to do with the inner chamber...

Perfection to a tea
Review of Tefal Tea Maker by
headgardener
Advantages: Excellent cup of tea, economic
Disadvantages: None
...Tefal Perfect Tea maker.
The Tefal Perfect Tea maker makes pot like tea, quickly, safely and efficiently.
It is available from selected electrical stores and some Home Shopping companies.
The normal selling price is around £20, however my husband bought mine at Christmas last year for £10 in a sale.
Having always preferred tea made in a pot, I was dubious about the accuracy of the claims made by this company, and keen to use my new present, I was convinced that it would be just another dust hoarder to be used once in a blue moon, and to spend the rest of its life in a cupboard with so many other useless kitchen appliances.
The Tefal Perfect Tea maker is capable of holding sufficient water when slightly filled above the 4-cup level, which is clearly defined on the side of the Pyrex jug part of the unit.
It is possible...

Micromark Wirefree Alarm System
Review of Micromark Wirefree Dual Powered Alarm. by
Mrcellcept
Advantages: Easy to Install
Disadvantages: Has a mind of its own!
...Originally bought this alarm after realising the walls to my house are half a metre thick. Not good for drilling cable holes.
Anyway, it was easy to install and looks just like a wired alarm. However, after only a week, we had real trouble disarming the system. This was particularly problematic when coming back from a night out at 3am, not something the neighnours appreciate at all. The key ring disamer and the keypad intermittantly fail to disarm the system.
Spoke to Micromark who suggested lots of little things that didnt work, even suggested changing batteries which were just a week old!
I took it back in the end, to Argos where I bough it who gave me a new shiny one. This I installed using instructions to the letter and had no problems for about a week.
Then the system managed to find a mind of its own and armed...

Dust free zone
Review of Micromark MM9835 by
thecatsmother
Advantages: makes great sandwiches, easy to clean, inexpensive
Disadvantages: I eat too many toasties
...Ever since the shiny chrome Breville sandwich makers first appeared as the must have kitchen gadget, I have wanted one. The fact that the majority of sandwich toasters gather dust at the back of the kitchen cupboards of the land, along with the miracle chopping machines, didn’t blunt my desire for one in the slightest. The price of the Breville didn’t blunt my desire either, but poverty ensured this particular desire remained unfulfilled. That was, until I spotted the Micromark sandwich toaster in a local electrical outlet for half of it’s regular price of £21.
The Micromark toaster is white, rather than chrome, and has two lights on the top section. One red one to show that there is power to the toaster, and one green one which lights to show that the toasting plates have reached the correct temperature. It works on the same...

Fair tea well...
Review of TeaDirect Fair Trade Tea Bags by
QueenAngella
Advantages: Free samples, less oppression,
Disadvantages: You might get hooked
..., dunking is added. This is of course optional. Stringed bags lend themselves to mug based brewing. The teapot has been made redundant. I never really bought all that 'one for the pot' talk. One extra for the bin more like, how about I cut out the middle man and just empty my purse straight into it? No, of course not. Now a poor tea-maker can take the finest blend and stew it or as my mother would chant to me as a child… 'did you just show it the bag?' The canniest among will note that I tend to make weaker than necessary tea. That's because strong tea is so revolting to my delicate palatte.
The individual packets claim that the tea comes from Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya and harps on about the fairness of it. Much like I did at the commencement of this tome. We don't need to do it all again, it would only lead to scanning and I have heaps...

Hot tea or Ice Tea?
Review of Lipton Ice Tea by
lotto_2006
Advantages: new refreshment, healthy affordable
Disadvantages: not for those hot tea drinkers
...I was on my way to work when I realized that I need to buy a drink. Long ago I have encountered Lipton selling Ice Tea brands. The brands that used to be sold in my place were in powdered form where in it is mixed with water to give a refreshing drink. Forward to now, I found out that Lipton is selling it already in a ready made form where in it is bottled. So how could Lipton measure up? Nice question.
First, I need to point out to my dear readers that most British or English have their tea in hot form and with milk. Thus, drinking this Lipton Ice tea will be a venture to them. If you are used to drinking tea as it is and had tried Ice tea then this is no alien thing for you.
I might quite find it not uncommon to drink such tea and enjoyed it on the past.
So how thus it measure up from my own experience?
Let us look...

Not really my cup of tea.
Review of Twinings Lady Grey Tea by
MAFARRIMOND
Advantages: Low caffeine. Pleasant citrus taste.
Disadvantages: Low strength. Too delicately flavoured.
...evolved.
Earl Grey, a revolutionary English prime minister between 1830 and 1835, was introduced to the tea by a wealthy Mandarin whose life he saved. When he returned to England, he gave the recipe to the tea makers Twinings to reproduce the blend for him. The tea soon became popular. His wife, the Lady Grey, however found the tea a little strong for her taste and asked Twinings to produce a more delicate variation.
To do so, Twinings restricted the blend of teas to just China tea in comparison to the possible mix of China teas, Indian Darjeeling and Ceylon teas of the Earl Grey. The bergamot is still present but in lesser quantities but now added to the tea blend is a mix of the peels of lemons and Seville oranges with flavourings of orange and lemon.
To make the tea, pour boiling water over the tea bag and left to stand for 2 –4...

This tea scent me.
Review of Twinings Earl Grey Tea by
carpathian
Advantages: Refreshing taste of luxury
Disadvantages: none
...Twinings Earl Grey Tea, a brew especially blended for Earl Grey, is how Twinings describe this tea.
The tea itself is a blend of fine light tea and bergamot oil, this gives a distinctive scent and flavour to the tea and compliments its taste. The challenge was to blend a tea that would always be light in colour, no matter how long it stood, yet still retain the delicate flavour of the bergamot. Twinings achieved this balanced blend to perfection and is far superior to any other maker of this tea.
This blend makes an excellent iced tea because the low levels of tannin in the tea will not despoil its flavour when left to infuse overnight in the fridge, the delicate flavour can be enjoyed just as it comes, nicely chilled on a hot summers day, nothing added no fancy sprigs of this or that are needed to enhance it.
Afternoon tea...

CarolB

Disadvantages: Stings sensitive areas
...Since I have joined ‘Ciaoland’ I seem to have taken on certain characteristics of other Ciaoites!! I found out that lots of you like getting freebies and went to the web links mentioned in various people’s opinions to investigate. So it probably comes as no surprise that I have agreed to test the 8 free Original Source shower gel sachets, as advertised on the website www.originalsource.co.uk. For those that don’t know what I am talking about, the makers of the shower gels will send you a sachet containing a different variety of shower gel every 8 days, and expect to get a review of each one in return. So, my first sachet came through last week and was the ‘Original Mint source Tea Tree and Mint Shower Gel’. So let’s go through the basic product information, and round off with my opinion...
