There are loads of products to buy that will help with getting rid of these little monsters, to name a couple.
Derbac
Repel
But after speaking to loads of mums about this problem, the treatment which has the best effect on these little blighters, is a good shampoo with tea tree oil in and loads of conditioner, combing through with a nit comb.
Tee Tree originates from Australia, which is taken from the bark of a tree.It has been used as an essential oil for many years. It is non-toxic and is non-irritant, but should never be used in large amounts or used neat on the body.
Tea Tree oil is also used to help with burns, cuts, insect bites. Its also used as and antiseptic helping with spots, acne.
I have tried all of the products...

The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil Shampoo
Review of The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil Shampoo by
helensahl
Advantages: Leaves hair and scalp feeling thoroughly clean, soft and shiny hair.
Disadvantages: Initially quite a strong smell.
...For the last two years I have had problems using various hair care products. I already have intolerances to many foods and various household products. But went on to develop an intolerance to the hair care products I was using. I constantly had a very itchy scalp and my hair was not in very good condition.
On the reccomendation of my nutritionist, I decided to try the Body Shop Tea Tree Oil shampoo, initially buying the smallest bottle, to ensure it suited me.
SIZES AVAILABLE
The shampoo come in three sizes, small, medium 500ml and large 1000ml. (Although I have only been able to obtain the large size in the factory shop).
PACKAGING
As with all the Body Shop products it comes in a plain basic bottle, with a flip top lid. The usual label with ingredients, the Body Shop logo and instructions on use.

Original Source Tea-Tree & Mint Shampoo
Review of Original Source Mint & Tea Tree Shampoo by
acos19
Advantages: Minty-Fresh scent lasts for ages; 100% vegan; not animal tested
Disadvantages: A bit pricy; May be too strong for some
...The Original Source range includes soaps, shower gels, bath soaks and hair treatments, amongst many others. The Mint and Tea Tree shampoo is considered one of their originals, and the most popular in the range. It is however far from the most exotic, with other fragrance combinations such as ylang ylang and patchouli.
It contains tea tree and mint essential oils, as well as over 7000 real mint leaves. The bottle claims it cleans hair thoroughly, but is gentle enough for frequent use.
So, what did I think of it?
-Fragrance. The minty freshness of the shower gel is is spine-tingling as the adverts say it is! Some with more sensitive nosebuds may find it too over-powering. Either way, the fragrance lingers in the bathroom long after I've washed my hair.
-Cleansing. The shampoo was more effective than most in removing product...

Original Source Mint and Tea Tree Shampoo
Review of Original Source Mint & Tea Tree Shampoo by
Shekera
Advantages: A good "wakeup" call.
Disadvantages: Don't use it on a sensitive scalp.
...As a fan of aromatherapy oils and their healing properties, I decided to try Original Source’s Mint Source range – also, there was a two for one offer in Morrisons which meant £2.99 for two 300m bottles.
As soon as I put the mint and tea tree shampoo on my hair I immediately felt a tingling feeling on my scalp. Apparently, so Original Source claims, the product is formulated to give extra body to thin hair whilst producing stimulating vapours which give an exhilarating and refreshing sensation – I most definitely have to agree with that statement. It left my hair feeling really clean, with a more noticeably shine, also the mint fragrance was still apparent nearly 24 hours later.
However, one the negative side, I would not suggest it is used if you have a sensitive scalp and please also note, I do not recommend...

Mint & Tea Tree Marvel
Review of Original Source Mint & Tea Tree Shampoo by
dahlin
Advantages: Gets rid of product build-up
Disadvantages: Can sting the scalp/skin, dries my hair out with daily use
...The Product
Original Source Mint & Tea Tree Daily Refresh Shampoo is available in 100ml or 250ml bottles, priced at 99p and £2.49 at the Original source website. The 250ml size is also stocked by Boots, Tesco, Sainsburys, Asda, Morrisons, and Waitrose according to their website, but I've only ever personally seen it in Boots and Tesco.
Why I Bought It
Though I very rarely use styling products on my hair, and so don't have a problem with product build-up, I live in a very hard water area, and am left with dulling 'build-up' as a result of washing my hair. Last time my hairdresser washed my hair she suggested using a shampoo containing Tea Tree, as it helps to remove any residue or dulling product build-up from your hair. So I went down to Tesco to see what I could find and this little beauty jumped straight into my basket...

It really is Tea Tree
Review of Avon Tea Tree Shampoo by
markcollins
Advantages: Smells great, good offers on it, easy to understand packaging, too much to list.
Disadvantages: Honestly non that I can think of except when the shampoo is on full price its expensive.
...I often buy avon tea tree shampoo from my friends mother as she does the avon rounds in Halewood and Speke, Liverpool. I would like to put a positive side on the shampoo seeing as it is unpopular.
***ATTRACTIVENESS***
The bottle that the tea tree shampoo come is is quite small but contains enough shampoo to last you quite a while. It is a basic bottle with see through plastic so you can see the product in side yet it has plenty of black writing. This bottle also is informative due to the ammount of writing on it. The attractiveness is great because it really stands out from most other products.
***SPECIAL OFFERS + COST***
The shampoo is usually always on a buy this get that free or buy two for one etc. At full price it is around £2.49. When you buy them on special offers it works out at about £1.90.
***PRODUCT RANGE...

●Tea Tree Oil●
Review of Tea Tree (Melaleuca alternifolia) by
JulyBunny
Advantages: Works on Almost Anything, Good Price and Lasts A Long Time
Disadvantages: Just the Packaging
...buy Tea Tree spot sticks too, but as I’ve been told, these hardly ever work. I have never had a problem with spots, so I have never had a need to try this.
You can apply a drop or two to the ‘infected’ area with tissue or cotton wool. It is advised to do this 1-2 times a day.
I have tried it neat on the skin, and it did sting using it straight. If you have ever used Tea Tree shampoo, then you will know the ‘cold’ sort of | | |
