Are Whites The Best?
Review of The White Company London Winter Tealights by
neenn
Advantages: Packaging turns it in to a pleasant gift, last longer than most tealights
Disadvantages: Very expensive for what you get!!
...♣♣♣ Price ♣♣♣
A set of 8 tea lights from The White Company, London costs £15, not the cheapest of tea lights but www.thewhitecompany currently have quite a few items for sale.
♦♦♦ Packaging ♦♦♦
The packaging is excellent. The 8 tea lights come in a very sturdy and solid card, cuboid box, black base with a white top, fitting snugly over the base
The tea lights are packaged in 2 layers of 4 tea lights.
♣♣♣ The TeaLights ♣♣♣
~ Size ~
Bog-standard tealight size which is great for anyone who has tealight candle holders.
~ Appearance ~
Again, despite the cost, these are very similar to cheaper versions of tealights. Slotted in to a transparent circular base, these candles are pale cream in colour.

The smell of chocolate
Review of Morrisons Chocolate Scented Tealight Candles by
neenn
Advantages: Cheap & smell good enough to eat!
Disadvantages: Not a great wick!
...I love candles and as a result I often get a lot as presents, though it has to be said that I'm more partial to the scented ones, that is if they work! However of late I have run out of my freebies so went on the search for some 'cheapies!'
Given my experience of the ridiculously over-priced Pecksniff's scented candle I now realise that you shouldn't always judge a 'scented candle' by it's 'price and brand name'!
~ Price and where to buy them ~
I bought these last week from Morrisons at the very reasonable price of 99p for 9 tealight candles.
These tealights are available in chocolate, vanilla and orange flavours.
~ Packaging & Appearance ~
These come in a clear plastic holder, not a great deal to say about that, other than you are able to see exactly what you are getting without relying on what is sometimes...

IKEA TINDRA TEALIGHTS
Review of Ikea Tindra Candles by
PaulineLees
Advantages: Lovely smells, various options for colour/smell, cheap, long lasting!
Disadvantages: None!
...their scent extremely well)!
I also place the tealights around the room, roughly 3 on my desk, 3 on the side and 3 next to the bed, and when freshly placed out you get a nice waft of scent when you sit near by. They do inevitably fade in scent, but when you light them the smell still comes out.
I think these are a little bargain, as with most things from IKEA because I actually love the place. For accessories around the home I definitely suggest going to IKEA.
There are plenty of little dishes and holders to choose from when buying your tealights also, very cheaply prices and very stylish.
The pictures supplied are taken from the Ikea website.
Hope this has been useful!...

rewritten , who loves yankee candles ?
Review of Yankee Scented candles by
textmad
Advantages: great smell, and they last ages !
Disadvantages: none
...Here is a bit about yankee candles....
They have been in existence for over 30 years now, and they are manufactured to high standards in the united states.
Its birthplace is in massachusetts, where they have got the worlds largest candle store.
They also sell candle accessories, and a variety of different candle scents and different size jars.
They also sell yankee tarts, tealights, housewarnmer jars etc
It is a candle lovers dream, i would love to visit it.
Yankee sells them products in the stores in the uk too not just in the usa.
I first tried yankee candles last year when my friend who lives in the usa sent me over some yankee candle tarts .
ever since then i have been hooked on the yankee candles, i love candles but no other candle comes close to the yankee one,s.
The housewarmers jars come in three different...

They'll think you make your own biscuits!
Review of Yankee Scented candles by
manlybeach
Advantages: Authentic Smells
Disadvantages: One or two let the range down
...true to life in terms of their smell.
The candles come in different formats as listed below
Candle Jars which are glass jars with a pull off top. The jars are decoritive enough to be used as storage jars once the candle has burnt away and they have been thoroughly washed out Or you could use them to make your own candles in as well. An added bonus of the candle jars is that you don't get that unpleasant burning smell when the flame is extinguished. Instead of blowing the flame out you simply replace the top which cuts off the air supply and the candle goes out immediately leaving no nasty niffs!
Large 22oz burn time 110 -150 hours £16.99
Medium 14.5oz burn time 65 -90 hours £13.99
Small 3.7oz burn time 25 -40 hours £7.49
Wrapped samplers which are about 3" in height and have a burn time of up to 15 hours £1.60
Tealights burn...

S.O.S.! 1001 things you never knew you needed!
Review of Scott's of Stow by
cladach29
Advantages: Excellent quality, home delivery, wide product range, online shopping
Disadvantages: Expensive, delivery can take up to 28 days, dangerous for shopoholics
...about 2 weeks and for me has been trouble free. If you are expecting delivery of a large item, SOS will quite helpfully arrange a delivery time within a fairly narrow time window so that you don't have to wait at home all day.
♣♣♣What have I bought from them?♣♣♣
As a recent convert to SOS I have only used them a couple of times and, unlike my mother, have not yet purchased enough to open my own shop. Below are listed a few items I have bought with some brief opinions of the quality and value for money. Photographs of these are appended at the end of the review. Note however this represents only a tiny fraction of the SOS catalogue:
1. Blow & Glow tealights
Smart candles (e.g. electronic ones) have been around for a while now. These tealights have a plastic "flame" containing a flickering purple...

Flame-n-Glow... Flame-n-Gorgeous
Review of flame-n-glow.co.uk by
Fruity_Tart
Advantages: Great service, very competative prices, good quality products
Disadvantages: A rude ash catcher (see op for explanation!) lol
....
~~ Wooden Painted Animal Catchers. These are a great idea. A flat piece of wood with a wooden animal at one end to hold the incense stick at an angle so any ash drops onto the wooden 'catcher'. I ordered 2 and got a frog and a cat, nicely painted in rich reds, blues and greens - very ethnic looking. They cost £1 and are brilliant.
*** LOL ***
The ash catchers are amusing in another way! The animal is sitting down and has his arms crossed across his tummy. The hole where you put the incense stick is between his hands and once the incense sticks in place it starts to look a bit pornographic!!! Hee hee hee
~~ Swirly Tea Light Holder with Tea Lights. I ordered a light blue set of these and they are lovely. Three tealights sitting in a metal 'swirly' tray which is glass on the bottom. At each corner of the tray is a blue glass...

From ape to man in one shop
Review of Evolution (Shop) by
blueuk
Advantages: Reasonable priced, lots of products
Disadvantages: small floor space
...-woven and are individually packaged. The most aromatic part of the shop houses the candles and incense sticks. There are tea-light, scented and crafted candles in a variety of sizes. Prices range from 20p for a tea-light to over £5 for a large candle. You can also buy the holders in which to put them in. These also look mostly handmade and prices are very reasonable. A lot of practical items and ornaments are sold. These include wooden CD holders, wooden boxes, laundry baskets and statues of Buddha type characters. Talking of Buddha this brings on nicely to the spiritual side of Evolution. There are many books to buy about Buddhism and other spiritual things. Prices go from about £8 upwards here. I don’t know had useful the books are because I rarely stray to that section. There are numerous gemstones to buy for about 60p each. Each gemstones means...

MMMM That certainly Tastes Good
Review of Taste Good Chinese Restaurant, Edinburgh by
Groovee
Advantages: Excelllent Food, Quiet Area
Disadvantages: No Car Park, Can get busy best to book a table
...'s are tenements and houses and there is on street parking, but it can be difficult to get a space unless you drive round!
Our most recent visit was last week. We phoned and booked and our table was for 6.45pm. We arrived at 6.30pm and the waiter took us to our table, in the empty restaurant. On the table was a plate each and chopsticks! Our table could have sat 4 people but it was set for 2!
There are around 20 tables in the restaurant. They are well spaced and you get plenty privacy. The decoration is bright and airy with lime green and red! There are also spotlights in the ceiling which go over each table! They also light little tealights in the tealight holder's which you can get from Ikea.
The tables are a beech wood and have matching highback chairs! Most tables are for 4 but are easily moved to make way for bigger parties...

HOPE BURNING BRIGHTLY
Review of If Dreams Were Candles, What Would Be The Wick? by
phoenixgreen
Advantages: CANDLES BRING HOPE, THEY CALM AND THEY SOOTH
Disadvantages: NEVER LEAVE A CANDLE UNATTENDED!
...at work.
Even my outside rooms, as I like to call them, have candles - my much loved garden. Here I really go to town with garden candles on sticks poked into pots and troughs and flower beds. I have tea-light lanterns hanging from the Buddleia, the Apple tree, and the back fence. I have jam jars with tea tights teetering on the brick borders of paths and flowerbeds, and I even put candles round the pond sometimes, and watch the lights reflecting across the dark lipid surface.
There is nothing better in my mind, than sitting outside on a warm autumn evening, with a big jumper pulled over my pjs and a big mug of hot chocolate in my hands, listening to the night noises, watching the stars, and being surrounded by the hopeful lights of candles, sending their wishes for the new day to come skyward, and warming my soul with their calm...
