Our Dynamic Earth at a glance
Review of The Dynamic Earth, Edinburgh by
kerrith
Advantages: Educational, interactive
Disadvantages: price
...Our Dynamic Earth sounded fantastic in the leaflet. It had rave reviews, was central and the prices seemed quite reasonable (£8.95 per adult). Better still, under fives went free and a 10% discount was offered if the leaflet was taken.
We arrived quite late, the last people are let in at 3.50pm. We were advised that we would be rushed through and had to be at certain parts at certain times.
The first part of the tour says you can experience an earth quake. To do this you jump on a wooden board which measures the scale and makes lines on the screen. This is definately better for older children, my four year old was not impressed.
Further down you travel in a time machine. Here, different music, news, pictures etc through the eras are shown until you get back to the beginning of the earth, when the planet was being formed...

Fiat Punto 52 plate 1.2 Dynamic (5 door)
Review of Fiat Punto 1.2 8v Dynamic 5dr by
AlexandraLawrence
Advantages: A small, low cost, but zippy car which is also reliable and easy to fix
Disadvantages: A difficult car to drive
...I recently purchased a Fiat Punto 1.2 Dynamic (5 door) straight from the dealers (Rockingham Motors, Northants). The Fiat website was exceedingly useful and allowed me to email the dealers to arrange a test drive.
In short the car was excellent: at a cost of £3300 for a 52 plate with only 42,000 miles on the clock and 6 months warranty.
The car's benefits by far out weigh the negatives which I have seen and been told by friends (i.e. not reliable, cheap nasty car, not spacious). The drive itself is comfortable, but I have been informed by passengers that in the back it is not so good.
It is excellent for short journey's for both comfort and fuel efficiency (even though I had some issues opening the petrol cap). Longer journey's it guzzles petrol but I expected that with such a small engine. For me, I needed a reliable car...

Fiat Panda 1.3 Multijet Dynamic Diesel
Review of Fiat Panda 1.3 16v Multijet Dynamic 5dr by
z1100a2
Advantages: Excellent fuel economy, £35 a year to tax, very cheap to insure.
Disadvantages: Perhaps a little more performance would be good.
...I have owned the Fiat Panda 1.3 Multijet Dynamic (with the optional Climate Control) since new (18 months so far). And have covered 49000 miles. This seems like a lot of miles in such a small car - but I can assure you all that this little car can handle the miles no problem at all. It still drives nice and smooth, and easily returns approx 55 - 65 miles to the gallon with a mixture of school runs, shopping and long motorway runs (It gets a 300 mile high speed motorway run every week). In the last 18 months it has also taken all three of us to Hungary twice ! Thats a 2500 mile round trip without incident. The first run to Hungary took 15 hours from Dunkerque and the second was about 16 hours. So far we have had one set of tyres all round, new front brake pads, new rear shock absorbers and coil springs and one front suspension unit (all...

England Football Team Part 2
Review of England (National Team 2002) by
mrpaella
Advantages: Already qualified for Euro 2004
Disadvantages: Club v Country clashes
...unlucky not to win the match.
England pumped a few long balls bypassing the midfield.
But a draw in the first group match is an ideal result for both teams.
The ITV commentary team of Clive Tyldesley and Ron Atkinson were very poor. For the second half I had the radio on listening to Radio 5 Live’s Alan Green and Terry Butcher. At least there was enthusiasm and passion in their summary.
When Alexandersson shot for goal I was not sure if it would go in. But the radio commentary shouted goal before the ball had entered the net on the TV. I wonder if there are satellite problems, which caused the time difference.
Since Sven became manager he has tried to build a young team. After the Swedish game all of the pundits said that he should have brought in more experienced players. I remember that in the 1970s England had an ageing...

Time Team
Review of Channel 4 - Time Team by
Martinscholes
Advantages: Great programme
Disadvantages: None
...Time Team is one of my all time favourite TV programmes. I have always been interested in TV programmes about archaeology, even when I was a small child. I can still remember the frisson of fear whenever the team of archaeologists were using their tools to disinter a human skeleton! I would always draw my legs up underneath me on the sofa, when skeletons were being dealt with. Well, you never knew when you were nine what horrors might lurk beneath the sofa…
Fast forward to the early 1990s and after I had been employed as an archaeological excavation worker and researcher for an archaeology unit. The unit had, by then, virtually closed down, due to losing funding from the Department of Employment. A pity, as I would almost certainly have still been employed by the unit digging things up, cataloguing them and doing research...

Team Sleep self titles debut
Review of Team Sleep [ECD] - Team Sleep by
olly_peel
Advantages: Relaxing
Disadvantages: slightly non consisten
...Team Sleep features Deftones vocalist Chino Moreno and his longtime friend, guitarist Tom Wilkinson. Along with DJ Crook, this debut album brings what some might call the moodyness, but i prefer the chilled out factor of Deftones' later work. The album possesses little of Deftones' hardness.
back in 2001, someone leaked the album to the Internet, causing the band to quickly shelve it. having heard the demo version of some of these songs i can truely say that the leak probably favoured the album as they changed considerably by touching up little details.
The first song "Ataraxia" builds from electronic drums and growling bass, with some bright guitar picking and a bit of piano.
"Ever (Foreign Flag)" steps further into ambience while keeping the melodrama and electronic beats. It builds upon the gentler influences beneath Deftones...

team fortress 2 (emphasis on "Team")
Review of Team Fortress 2 (PC) by
AgeUK
Advantages: good team play, fun graphics
Disadvantages: hard!
...Paid for the orange box through STEAM, which is very unlike me, but i thought i'd give it a go. Took a while to download but you could choose what you wanted to download and since i already have HL2 and HL2 EP1 i just got TF2, HL EP2 and Portal, played TF2 first and here's my brief review which i shall edit later.
Pretty simple. Team Fortress 2 is an FPS, online like battlefield and like battlefield its fun. It is different tho, sure you have to capture certain "points" on the map and kill enemies trying to do the same, but the main difference is the graphics. TF2 is very cartoony. Unlike battlefield which tries to be beautiful. The good news is this makes TF2 smooth and less power hungry, yet on full settings its still looks sweet.
The Blue Vs Red teams element is nice. Blue team wear blue and vice versa, which makes identifying...

Team America: Weapons of mass destruction
Review of Team America: World Police by
Ailran
Advantages: Funny, hilarious, sick and twisted
Disadvantages: Will not be to everyone's taste
...Imagine, if you will, a world where it is not only you having your strings pulled by your boss, imagine a world where everyone in it has strings attached to all of their body and are made of wood. If you can do this you, are well on the way to having a mental image of what the world of ‘Team America: World Police’ looks like!
‘Team America’ is the latest film from Trey Parker and Mike Stone, the creators of South Park (which I really hate!). They have taken the sensibilities of South Park and put them into a world of supermarionation, or puppets.
‘Team America’ is the brains behind the adultification of kiddies cartoons doing their take on Thunderbirds.
It is sick, twisted, foul-mouthed, full of violence and absolutely hilarious! Not since Peter Jackson’s ‘Meet The Feebles’ has there been a film that subverts your memories...
