...Tears of the Sun is perhaps one of the lesser-known films in which Bruce Willis does his best impression of a one-man band. In this, although the presence of his co-stars is not weak (Belucci gives a solid performance as a caring American aid-worker), they are all dwarfed by Willis' commanding role. The film starts as it means to go on, with a contextual introduction putting the events of the film into motion. The characters develop well throughout, particularly Willis' character Lt. Walters, who has a well-realised crisis of conscience upon abandonning the refugees and the team return to escort all of them safely across the border, away from the pursuing militia. Tears of the Sun was one of the names shortlisted for the film eventually titled Die Hard 2, and is in many ways more involving and exciting than the slightly tired Die... Read review

...I’d never go into the video store and pick out a war film but Craig would, I usually moan at him and then give in and mostly I always end up enjoying it and Tears of The Sun is certainly no different. Tears of The Sun is brought to us by Director Antoine Fuqua (Training Day, The Replacement Killers), I don’t really feel able to comment on his talents at this stage but I did find Training Day to be rather graphic and probably wouldn’t watch it again and as for The Replacement Killers, I’m sorry to say I’ve never seen it. The only big named star that appears in the film is Bruce Willis, and I do normally happen to be a fan of his but I have to admit to being rather dubious about seeing him play a part in a war movie but he certainly lived up to the part and very well at that, he played a magnificent... Now, she’s always been a grumpy little baby in the bath, and especially when I wash her hair, when the tears would flow readily. I just put this down to the fact that she doesn’t like her hair being washed, and nothing to do with anything else. ...Tears of The Sun was released in 2003 and is directed by Antoine Fuqua, that geezer who did Training Day, King Arthur and that classic Usher live 1999 The first two in my opinion are both excellent films and Tears Of The Sun is no exception. The Film takes Place in war torn Nigeria, where a violent coup has taken place and the entire Presidential family has been reported to have been killed. Ethnic Cleansing is taken place across the country with mass genocide taken place in the streets. The Story follows the exploits of Lt A.K. Waters (willis) and his Elite squad of Navy S.E.A.L.s, who are sent in to evacuate a U.S. Citizen (by marriage) Dr Lena Kendricks (Monica Belluci) who is the primary and 3 others, a Priest and 2 nuns. ...Hard men do have consciences! It's true. You only have to look at the 2003 film Tears of the Sun starring Bruce Willis to believe it. Antoine Fuqua, fresh off directing Denzel in Training Day takes the chair in this war film. The Plot Veteran Navy Seal A K Waters leads a team of Special Ops soldiers into a war torn jungle rescue a US doctor running a mission. He finds a stubborn woman who will only come with him if he agrees to take the 70 refugees at the mission to safety also. Royal & Sun Alliance are a well known insurance provider, they are probably best known for their home and car insurance but if anything is 'insurable' I'm told they insure it. Advantages: Great Theme and Characters

..."Dragon Tears" is not a novel for the timid. Neither is it for those searching for an easy read. You see, this horror novel by Dean Koontz, is slow paced and at times difficult to focus on. In it, you do find great and somewhat poetically descriptive writing. Yet sadly, the author concentrates too much on description and ultimately leaves us wondering why we should read on. Now, by no means is this novel void of anything good for it holds creative and intriguing characters. The thing is, it would have been nice to receive a story that went some were… rather than just ending up at a dead end. Dragon Tears is a story of five people: all attempting to find some way of surviving the deadly harassment of a being with powers who is seeking to make them dead by dawn. Disadvantages: Doesn't compare to early Suede

...I'll get the direct 'Suede' comparisons over and done with first. Here Come The Tears plays like a cross between Suede's first and last albums (Suede and A New Morning, respectively), in the spindly, glam guitar lines of the former and the more positive, poppy vocal melodies of the latter. If you are fond of the later-era Suede, you'll love this, if you hate later-era Suede, you'll probably find something to like, but less so than those classic albums Butler and Anderson made in the early 90s. To put it simply, it fits nicely between early and late era Suede. As can be expected, the record is full of glam-infused guitar-and-keys arrangements backing up Brett Anderson's ear for melody and semi-real, semi-whatthefuck lyrics.
