Technics 1200 / 1210 Mk2
Review of Technics SL1200Mk2 Turntable by
giles-y
Advantages: same turntable at home as in the clubs
Disadvantages: heavy
...Technics 1200 / 1210 what more can you say its the number one DJ turntable on the planet.
For years and years when i was younger just geting in to Djing all i wanted was a pair of technics.
after a few years with other direct drive decks i finally saved enough money to buy a pair i of technics, i bought the SL1200Mk2 because they were silver i did not like the brown of the 1210 much.
i have read around and talked to people and aparently the only difference between the 1200 and the 1210 is the colour.
I set up my new 1200s and got the tunes out. Wow what a turntable, after years of trying out all other types of direct drive turntables i could instantly see and feel the difference in build quality. the technics weight alot compared to any other turntable, this is because the bottom black base you see is not made of cheap moulded plastic...

Technics 1200's-the best and sexiest decks around
Review of Technics SL-1200 by
djjacko
Advantages: Nearly everything-the best decks by far.
Disadvantages: high price new9though it is justified), pitch control clicks into place at 0% pitch.
...Many decks claim to be better than the industry standard-the Technics SL1210 or SL1200-but none, in my opinion, come close. These are the best selling decks there are, so surely that shows how good they are. With +/-8% pitch, and very quick start up times, no wonder nearly all top DJs choose Technics as their weapon. The Technics decks have been around for years, but still look ready for business. Although there is no difference performance wise, I prefer the Technics 1200s to the 1210s. With their sexy silver finish and retro look, these decks would look at home anywhere, not just in the big clubs. Most of the cheaper decks copy the same layout as the 1200s and 1210s, which has now become the industry standard layout, though they cannot match their performance. The only small problem with them is that the pitch fader clicks into place...

Ah...The good old days...
Review of Technics SL-1200LTD Turntable by
andycharger
Advantages: Great little deck
Disadvantages: Looks a bit dated
...These little darlings were banging out tunes to dancefloors when people were raving with White gloves and a whistle in their mouths.
In fact these decks were where most of the big name DJs would have cut their vinyl teeth. Yes the SL1200 would now look decidedly more at home in someones house or flat due to their Shiny aluminium look. The shiny look as replace the black metal look in home Hi Fi so dig out your 1200s and get the parties going again.
There is very little difference between the 1200 and the 1210 other than the colour. Both are direct Drive masterpieces of mixing engineering. Technics buit their legendary name in the club world on the back of these decks while the 1210 has taken it to new heights.
Both set ups have a pitch control of +8/-8 and are instant Start/Stop so pick up time is nil.
Great for the beginner...

The classic deck
Review of Technics SL1210MK3 by
paulccarey
Advantages: Excellent startup time
Disadvantages: Limited features
...Technics are famous for there remarkable series of 1200 decks being the industry standard and favourite of D.j's across the globe.
The 1210's are simply the black version of the 1200's being mechanically no different from the silver 1200's.
The 1200 series are renowned for their almost indestructible build quality and blistering performance with start up times of less then half a second and a high powered direct drive motor delivering a massive 1.5Kg cm of torque there sure to deliver to even the most demanding artist. The SL 1210 of course also come with an adjustable 8% plus and minus pitch gage to help keep your tunes in time and the much needed spot light works a treat in dark situations were finding your mark on the record can be a real bother.
The classic silver s-tone arm couldn't be better it swings with a real smoothness yet...

The Legend continues?
Review of Technics SL1210MK5 by
edlloyd01
Advantages: can't go wrong
Disadvantages: overpriced
...It's the same review as the Technics SL-1200 MK5 because the only difference between the SL-1200 MK5 and SL-1210 MK5 is the colour. The SL-1200 is silver and the SL1210 is black. Not many people realise it. The amount of people I've met who say "yeah...the 1210's are better aren't they!?" and "the 1210's are more powerful". When I was trying to sell 1200's MK2, I had difficulty selling them to 2nd hand stores because the shops were only after 1210's because of this illusion that the 1210 is a better deck
With my experience of this turntable I would say it is a very good turntable for the use of Dj'ing. The only thing I dont agree with about this turntable is the price. As other Dj turntables produces began to make turntables of the same quality and standard for lower prices the technics deck is starting to become outdated. Though it...

A head-turner for the most discerning vinyl DJs
Review of Technics SL-DZ 1200 by
TMC1320
Advantages: Excellent vinyl emulation & pitch control, sampler & looper, SD card memory
Disadvantages: Limited in-built effects (no great drawback), small screen, heavy!
...The legendary SL1200 turntable has been the industry standard for vinyl DJs for a long time but having let the patent slip a few years ago there are anumber of comparibly excellent vinyl decks on the market.
Now Technics have turned their talents to the rapidly growing digital DJ market with this very solid and highly useable SL-DZ1200.
The revolving platter mimics the vinyl turntable very well, everything you could do on the old 1210 you can with the DZ, ; slow-downs, back-spins, scratching and more when used with the sample and cue pads, plus realtime looping.
Accessed by 4 luminated pads, the sampler has around 30 seconds of in-built memory expandable with SD memory cards enabling realtime editing & looping from the CD player. The MP3 function does not permit the freedom of manipulation available for audio CDs...

Skratched
Review of Technics SL-1200 by
Mister_C
Advantages: Very high quality DJ Deck
Disadvantages: none
...in less than 0.1 secs. The platter is stable as well which enables you do spin-backs with ease.
I bought mine on the basis of becoming the next generation Scratch DJ. I wanted to enter the Technics World Mixing Championship Finals, obviously never got there. The best piece of advice about these babies is they hold their value even if you drop them 30feet out of a window onto the ground. They are made from Cast Steel and are built like a brick!
Technical Stuff:
SL-1200MK2
Technical Specification
Total quartz locked continuous pitch adjustment up to 8%
Precision moulded aluminium diecast cabinet and heavy rubber base material absorb unwanted vibrations
Unwavering quartz Direct Drive accuracy: wow and flutter 0,01% WRNMS, rumble -78dB (DIN B)
Very high torque (1.5Kg/cm) for quick start-ups
Highly sensitive low mass tone-arm with gimbal...

Excellent Printer but.....
Review of Lexmark Z 51 Color Jetprinter by
ts2001
Advantages: Good quality, fairly small footprint, extremely fast
Disadvantages: Pricey cartridges
...I bought a Lexmark Z51 printer nearly 2 years ago. It was heavily used, and performed very well during this time. The quality was excellent, although the 1200×1200 setting was only used once (to test it when it was first bought!)
18 months after buying it, I went on holiday for a week, and switched off the power at the socket. When I came back, I switched it back on, but the printer simply flashed it lights and would not respond. The buttons did not do anything, and switching it off at the mains (no matter how long for) and then back on did not do anything either. The 1 year warranty had expired, so technical telephone support was only available by paying up front, whether the problem was sorted or not.
I decided to visit Lexmark's website, to see if they could offer any help. Fortunately, they had an online support section where...

Brilliant investment
Review of Technics SL-1200MK2 Turntable by
cybergoose
Advantages: Industry Standard, Good Feel, Good Looks, Sturdy
Disadvantages: Price, Minimal Pitch Control
...Whether you want to get into DJing or you are upgrading from a less expensive deck, the technics is the way to go! this deck is built like a tank, it feels as good as it costs, and is an all round excellent turntable whether you scratch, mix just use it to play vinyl. The only problem with the deck, and it is a minor one, is that the pitch control only goes 8% each way. This means that the decks can mix music fine if you specialise in one genre or mix music with similair speeds, but the decks can mix music from one extreme to another. However, I find that once the pitch gets to, say, 12% or more, the music sounds ridiculously slow or fast, so the pitch range available should be fine for most people.
If the expense of the deck intimidates you, you might want to conisder picking up just one deck to start with, then when you have the money...

Review of Bosch 1200 Classixx 5 by
donovan74
Advantages: BRILLIANT VALUE BRILLIANT WASH. BRILLIANT MAKE
Disadvantages: NO GO FASTER STRIPES.
...to use, just set the temperature and the type of wash you want i.e Basic Wash, Wash plus, Pre Wash, Reduced Ironing and Aqua Plus. On the Bosch 1200 you can also select what speed you want the spin from 600 to 1200.
The after wash is brilliant, clothes come out much cleaner, fresher and dryer and now only take a fraction of the time to dry (no built-in dryer on this model) compared to the old Zanussi machine..
