Ah...The good old days...
Review of Technics SL-1200LTD Turntable by
andycharger
Advantages: Great little deck
Disadvantages: Looks a bit dated
...These little darlings were banging out tunes to dancefloors when people were raving with White gloves and a whistle in their mouths.
In fact these decks were where most of the big name DJs would have cut their vinyl teeth. Yes the SL1200 would now look decidedly more at home in someones house or flat due to their Shiny aluminium look. The shiny look as replace the black metal look in home Hi Fi so dig out your 1200s and get the parties going again.
There is very little difference between the 1200 and the 1210 other than the colour. Both are direct Drive masterpieces of mixing engineering. Technics buit their legendary name in the club world on the back of these decks while the 1210 has taken it to new heights.
Both set ups have a pitch control of +8/-8 and are instant Start/Stop so pick up time is nil.
Great for the beginner...

A head-turner for the most discerning vinyl DJs
Review of Technics SL-DZ 1200 by
TMC1320
Advantages: Excellent vinyl emulation & pitch control, sampler & looper, SD card memory
Disadvantages: Limited in-built effects (no great drawback), small screen, heavy!
...The legendary SL1200 turntable has been the industry standard for vinyl DJs for a long time but having let the patent slip a few years ago there are anumber of comparibly excellent vinyl decks on the market.
Now Technics have turned their talents to the rapidly growing digital DJ market with this very solid and highly useable SL-DZ1200.
The revolving platter mimics the vinyl turntable very well, everything you could do on the old 1210 you can with the DZ, ; slow-downs, back-spins, scratching and more when used with the sample and cue pads, plus realtime looping.
Accessed by 4 luminated pads, the sampler has around 30 seconds of in-built memory expandable with SD memory cards enabling realtime editing & looping from the CD player. The MP3 function does not permit the freedom of manipulation available for audio CDs...

One of the Main contenders in DJ headphones
Review of Technics RPDJ 1200 by
edlloyd01
Advantages: Style, comfort and ease of use.
Disadvantages: Average price??
...In my opinion there are pretty much 3 main contenders for DJ Headphones with designs that don't copy each other. Technics, Sony and Sennheiser. There are others but they are mostly just copies of Sony's MDVR 700. Such as Pioneer's HDJ1000, Stanton's DJ Pro 3000 and Beyerdynamic DJX1.
What I love about these headphones is the comfort. They really are a pair of comfortable headphones with their padded headband and nicely padded ear cups. It's not just the comfort level; it's the fact they stay on your head. When I DJ I tend to well...have a tendency to dance. This is why, for me, these headphones are great. They mold to your head and stay there, as they are lighter than most of the competition in this range as they only weigh 230g without the cord. With the rotary housing (which allows the arms to pivot at different angles and lock...

Brilliant investment
Review of Technics SL-1200MK2 Turntable by
cybergoose
Advantages: Industry Standard, Good Feel, Good Looks, Sturdy
Disadvantages: Price, Minimal Pitch Control
...Whether you want to get into DJing or you are upgrading from a less expensive deck, the technics is the way to go! this deck is built like a tank, it feels as good as it costs, and is an all round excellent turntable whether you scratch, mix just use it to play vinyl. The only problem with the deck, and it is a minor one, is that the pitch control only goes 8% each way. This means that the decks can mix music fine if you specialise in one genre or mix music with similair speeds, but the decks can mix music from one extreme to another. However, I find that once the pitch gets to, say, 12% or more, the music sounds ridiculously slow or fast, so the pitch range available should be fine for most people.
If the expense of the deck intimidates you, you might want to conisder picking up just one deck to start with, then when you have...

Technics NOT technical...
Review of Technics SH-EH750 by
rachels_ratty
Advantages: Everything!
Disadvantages: None
...For those of you who don’t already know this let me share something with you. I’m a music lover; a slave to those little silver disks of loveliness that are CD’s, each and every one that gets into my house is well looked after and cared for. So it naturally follows that my hi-fi system has to be top-notch; I don’t just love my music, it HAS to sound the best it possibly can. Three years ago my old Technics separates system was starting to look a little jaded, the cassette deck had given up the ghost and it was time to relegate it to the bedroom.
The hunt was on for a replacement but I was very specific when it came to this new purchase. As my old system had given such first rate and long standing performance I was keen and eager to buy another by the same manufacturer. One quick trip into John Lewis and the deed was indeed done...

There is nothing Techincal about Technics
Review of Technics SH-EH750 by
rpblagz
Advantages: Powerful Sexy Beast
Disadvantages: None that i have found!
...All i can say about this great piece of equipment is WHOA! yes thats right! Looks great anywhere in your house and boasting up to 360Watts of power whos going to argue!
The great technology out these days all compacted into one unit is absolutely fantastic. The system encorporates Dolby Prologic and a array of other little sound effects! One feature i love about this product is the abiltiy to control the subwoofer level! You can adjust it from High, Medium and Low or to off all together! Another great feature is the diffretn set equalisers it has, you can easily adjust them by using the jog dial which is very simple! just turn clockwise or anticlockwise to the desired sound!
The dispay on the system is fantastic simple yet sophisticated, compared to other models which have coloured screens and alwayz animated displays, the technics...

Technics CD Micro HiFi System
Review of Technics SC-HD 350 by
jala
Advantages: Modern simple design. Interchangeable unit arrangement. Remote. Very good quality sound output. Linkable to PC.
Disadvantages: Bass & Treble controls slightly basic.
...Technics SC-HD350 Micro HiFi System
I spent some time looking for the right stereo system. I wanted a Micro system but with separate units. I eventually decided upon the Technics SC-HD350 Micro HiFi system, because it was the only one that was both affordable and stylish (in my opinion). The technics system, I feel, is in a class of it's own, as the style is very much like many of the better known separate micro systems, but is much cheaper.
The Amplifier
The system's sound quality very good. I was used to using an amplifier, so I knew what sound quality I should expect. I was not disappointed by the sound at all. The amplifier unit is capable of sound reproduction in the range of -76 to 0dB (decibels). 0 dB is VERY loud, while -76 is virtually silent.
The amplifier has bass and treble controls, in the form of buttons...

The Legend continues?
Review of Technics SL1210MK5 by
edlloyd01
Advantages: can't go wrong
Disadvantages: overpriced
...It's the same review as the Technics SL-1200 MK5 because the only difference between the SL-1200 MK5 and SL-1210 MK5 is the colour. The SL-1200 is silver and the SL1210 is black. Not many people realise it. The amount of people I've met who say "yeah...the 1210's are better aren't they!?" and "the 1210's are more powerful". When I was trying to sell 1200's MK2, I had difficulty selling them to 2nd hand stores because the shops were only after 1210's because of this illusion that the 1210 is a better deck
With my experience of this turntable I would say it is a very good turntable for the use of Dj'ing. The only thing I dont agree with about this turntable is the price. As other Dj turntables produces began to make turntables of the same quality and standard for lower prices the technics deck is starting to become outdated. Though...

Stylish and Technical
Review of Technics SC-DV 290 by
peteyl
Advantages: Brilliant sound quality
Disadvantages: A lot of trust in electronics
...a station which is broadcasting news and weather on FM, then go back to your music once its finished. This is ideal if you live in a built up city with many radio stations but not so good if you live in a more rural area, although it is only a minor point.
Using it is really easy, all of the buttons are pretty much self explanitry, theres just the odd button i have to fin in the instruction manual - it covers all of them.
As i said nothing has gone wrong so i maybe i am wrong not to trust electronics, technics does have a fantastic reputation with audio equiptment so its probably very reliable. Its a fantastic piece of kit, its stylish and looks worth more than the price so its something to show of about....

Technics Hifi System
Review of Technics SH-EH500 by
Toady
Advantages: Execellent Sound, vaule for money and excellent features
Disadvantages: Can be too bassy
...I brought this Hi-fi system Technics SH-EH500 3 yrs ago now and cannot fault it in anyway. It cost me at the time of purchase £500 and is still worth every penny spent. It’s superwoofer is a good feature and the clock/timer feature is good too as it gets you up in the mornings. It's very powerful due to the many bass features it has so maybe a bit to powerful for a typical household environment. The Hifi it's self is very sylish looking Black with Gold trim.
It came with these accessories AC power supply cord, Remote control transmitter, Remote control batteries, FM indoor antenna, AM loop antenna set, Speaker cords and Antenna plug adaptor.
These are all the features on the Hi-fi:
Tuner/amplifier section
Clock/timer button
Power “standby” button
Timer on/off buttons (play & rec)
Tuning mode select...
