Technics CD Micro HiFi System
Review of Technics SC-HD 350 by  jala

Advantages: Modern simple design. Interchangeable unit arrangement. Remote. Very good quality sound output. Linkable to PC.
Disadvantages: Bass & Treble controls slightly basic.

...Technics SC-HD350 Micro HiFi System I spent some time looking for the right stereo system. I wanted a Micro system but with separate units. I eventually decided upon the Technics SC-HD350 Micro HiFi system, because it was the only one that was both affordable and stylish (in my opinion). The technics system, I feel, is in a class of it's own, as the style is very much like many of the better known separate micro systems, but is much cheaper. The Amplifier The system's sound quality very good. I was used to using an amplifier, so I knew what sound quality I should expect. I was not disappointed by the sound at all. The amplifier unit is capable of sound reproduction in the range of -76 to 0dB (decibels). 0 dB is VERY loud, while -76 is virtually silent. The amplifier has bass and treble controls, in the form of buttons... Read review

Technics NOT technical...
Review of Technics SH-EH750 by  rachels_ratty

Advantages: Everything!
Disadvantages: None

...For those of you who don’t already know this let me share something with you. I’m a music lover; a slave to those little silver disks of loveliness that are CD’s, each and every one that gets into my house is well looked after and cared for. So it naturally follows that my hi-fi system has to be top-notch; I don’t just love my music, it HAS to sound the best it possibly can. Three years ago my old Technics separates system was starting to look a little jaded, the cassette deck had given up the ghost and it was time to relegate it to the bedroom. The hunt was on for a replacement but I was very specific when it came to this new purchase. As my old system had given such first rate and long standing performance I was keen and eager to buy another by the same manufacturer. One quick trip into John Lewis and the deed was indeed done... Technics Hifi System
Review of Technics SH-EH500 by  Toady

Advantages: Execellent Sound, vaule for money and excellent features
Disadvantages: Can be too bassy

...I brought this Hi-fi system Technics SH-EH500 3 yrs ago now and cannot fault it in anyway. It cost me at the time of purchase £500 and is still worth every penny spent. It’s superwoofer is a good feature and the clock/timer feature is good too as it gets you up in the mornings. It's very powerful due to the many bass features it has so maybe a bit to powerful for a typical household environment. The Hifi it's self is very sylish looking Black with Gold trim. It came with these accessories AC power supply cord, Remote control transmitter, Remote control batteries, FM indoor antenna, AM loop antenna set, Speaker cords and Antenna plug adaptor. These are all the features on the Hi-fi: Tuner/amplifier section Clock/timer button Power “standby” button Timer on/off buttons (play & rec) Tuning mode select... Read review

Amplified Heart - Everything But The Girl
Review of Amplified Heart - Everything But The Girl by  micksheff

Advantages: Some Good Songs, Good Lyrics
Disadvantages: Quite Mournful In Places, Some Songs Rather Short

...In 1994 Tracey Thorn and Ben Watt, collectively known as Everything But The Girl, released their seventh studio Album entitled Amplified Heart. There had been two other Albums released between this and its predecessor Worldwide, but these were essentially compilation Albums. One called Acoustic, released in the United States only and featuring as you may guess from the title, Acoustic versions of some of their previously released songs. The other a proper compilation of their Greatest Hits called Home Movies. Amplified Heart contains 10 tracks as below: Rollercoaster Troubled Mind I Don't Understand Anything Walking To You Get Me Missing Two Star Walk The Same Line 25th December Disenchanted The Album opens with Rollercoaster, the first single to taken from the Album. This is an upbeat track. Tracey's voice is smooth... Read review

Review of Alive And Amplified - Mooney Suzuki (The) by  priesty8899

Advantages: Great sound, no real duff tracks - really consistant
Disadvantages: Accused of selling out (I disagree)

...The band: Sammy James Junior - lead vocals, rhythm guitar + percussion Graham Tyler - Lead guitar, vocals, percussion Augie Wilson - Drums, vocals, percussion Michael Miles - Bass guitar, percussion, vocals. Amplify your Heart
Review of Amplified Heart - Everything But The Girl by  bigbtommy

Advantages: Everything
Disadvantages: The Dance Track.

...I bought this album ages ago, and today walked over to the CD rack and noticed it peering down at me: "Everything But The Girl, Amplified Heart". They say good music lasts forever, so why should a good album like this die, even if it was released in 1994. OK, first off. What is it? Is it pop? Rock? Dance? Well it's pretty slow, miserable music. But in a slow "he's left me" sort of way. It's probably pop if you were to caregorise. But I hate categorising. It's not the cheesy sort of Britney Aguilera does Madonna's greatest hits, but what music should be: from the heart, soulful and good. You may have heard of them, you may not have. But they have made albums all the way from 1984's 'Eden' up to 2000's 'Temperamental'. The biggest hit of the album is the 11th track, Missing (Todd Terry Club Mix). That was back then when house music... Read review

Technically a Super Stereo
Review of Technics SH-EH500 by  Kingkarliii

Advantages: Phat bass, clear sound
Disadvantages: Sill won't shake the pictures of the wall next door

...I bought this stereo about two years ago from a second-hand shop in Lowestoft, Suffolk. For a bargain price of £125. considering I can remember drooloing over it in my mothers Kays catalogue for years at the Grand price of £999.99 I would definitely say this was a BARGAIN !!! This Hi-Fi come s in 4 seperate components and two speakers, unfortunately I didn,t get the surround speakers with it as these do not come with this model, so if you require these you must purchase the model SH-EH600. It also has a mains lead, remote control and a AM Antenna The four different components are as follows: Sound processor, Tuner/Amplifier, CD Player and Twin Cassette Deck, the order I have wrote these is the order they should be placed. The sound processor at the top and the cassette player at the bottom The Sound processor features 6 buttons... Read review

Renegade REN550S Amplifier
Review of Renegade REN 500 by  Cellexe

Advantages: Cheap, Looks, Features
Disadvantages: No Major Ones!

...So, being the first to review this i'll do my best to fill it with enough information to satisfy any future buyers. here it goes.... I purchased this amp as part of a package deal (included a sub, box and wiring kit) from a reputable online dealer, no eBay involved here! lol. opened the box and thought yum!. sleek, black satin finished amplifier. Not in any way heavy or cheap looking, infact i was quite surprised with the way it looked considering the price it must have cost (as the package deal was only 99 pounds). So, down to technical specifications then. You get , obviously, a 550 watt amplifier capable of delivering 250 watts per channel (being 2 channels). quite where they lose the 50 watts i dont know but anyhow. You can deliver 250 wpc (watts per channel) maximum output (ie before the thing blows up!). 125 wpc @ 4 ohms... Read review

Technics 1200 / 1210 Mk2
Review of Technics SL1200Mk2 Turntable by  giles-y

Advantages: same turntable at home as in the clubs
Disadvantages: heavy

...Technics 1200 / 1210 what more can you say its the number one DJ turntable on the planet. For years and years when i was younger just geting in to Djing all i wanted was a pair of technics. after a few years with other direct drive decks i finally saved enough money to buy a pair i of technics, i bought the SL1200Mk2 because they were silver i did not like the brown of the 1210 much. i have read around and talked to people and aparently the only difference between the 1200 and the 1210 is the colour. I set up my new 1200s and got the tunes out. Wow what a turntable, after years of trying out all other types of direct drive turntables i could instantly see and feel the difference in build quality. the technics weight alot compared to any other turntable, this is because the bottom black base you see is not made of cheap moulded... Lego Technic Combine Harvester
Review of Lego Technic: Combine Harvester by  ivytoad

Advantages: Looks so cool! Fun to assemble
Disadvantages: Don't misplace any pieces!

...Me and my boyfriend received this for Christmas from my parents. We tried to make it together doing different parts, but since you have to follow the instructions very carefully and do one step after another this was not really working, so I just had to sit next to my boyfriend and watch while he did it! My mum got this from John Lewis for £49.99 but it is also available from the Lego website for the same price. I have also seen Lego Technic available in Toys'R'Us so it is not hard to get a hold of. Lego Technic looks quite different from the 'normal' Lego that we all know. The parts are smaller than the normal lego bricks. It is like a more 'grown up' lego. The models that you make with it are usually articulated and quite advanced. The model took us around 6 - 7 hours to assemble. Very good for keeping people entertained! I... Read review
