Technics 1200's-the best and sexiest decks around
Review of Technics SL-1200 by  djjacko

Advantages: Nearly everything-the best decks by far.
Disadvantages: high price new9though it is justified), pitch control clicks into place at 0% pitch.

...this product could hardly be improved. Apart from the small problem with the pitch control(and it is a VERY small problem), Technics have got a winning formula.... Read review

The classic deck
Review of Technics SL1210MK3 by  paulccarey

Advantages: Excellent startup time
Disadvantages: Limited features

...Technics are famous for there remarkable series of 1200 decks being the industry standard and favourite of D.j's across the globe. The 1210's are simply the black version of the 1200's being mechanically no different from the silver 1200's. The 1200 series are renowned for their almost indestructible build quality and blistering performance with start up times of less then half a second and a high powered direct drive motor delivering a massive 1.5Kg cm of torque there sure to deliver to even the most demanding artist. The SL 1210 of course also come with an adjustable 8% plus and minus pitch gage to help keep your tunes in time and the much needed spot light works a treat in dark situations were finding your mark on the record can be a real bother. The classic silver s-tone arm couldn't be better it swings with a real smoothness... Read review

Technics NOT technical...
Review of Technics SH-EH750 by  rachels_ratty

Advantages: Everything!
Disadvantages: None

...For those of you who don’t already know this let me share something with you. I’m a music lover; a slave to those little silver disks of loveliness that are CD’s, each and every one that gets into my house is well looked after and cared for. So it naturally follows that my hi-fi system has to be top-notch; I don’t just love my music, it HAS to sound the best it possibly can. Three years ago my old Technics separates system was starting to look a little jaded, the cassette deck had given up the ghost and it was time to relegate it to the bedroom. The hunt was on for a replacement but I was very specific when it came to this new purchase. As my old system had given such first rate and long standing performance I was keen and eager to buy another by the same manufacturer. One quick trip into John Lewis and the deed was indeed done... The Best Decks in the World.............Ever!!!
Review of Technics SL1210Mk2 Turntable by  buchaben

Advantages: Durability, Image, Usability, Layout, Strength, Power
Disadvantages: Price (But you can work around this), Some say demise of vinyl (I dont agree)

...I have to say that I completley agree with everything that the previous reviewer has written about these decks. They are industry standard and there is a reason why you will find them in every club in the world. They are one of the best investments that you will ever make. I bought my pair a year ago as my first decks after deciding to make the next step in my love of music. The were 2-3 years old then and I have not had one single problem since I bought. The budget I gave myself was £600 max to start out including mixer, headphones and a couple of basslines to start my collection. I had two options, being get some Stantons or Numarks..etc new or get some 1210s.. After seeking advise from my various mates who had decks and reading up about them I opted for the Technics. I got mine second hand from an internet auction site and I... Read review

Technics Hifi System
Review of Technics SH-EH500 by  Toady

Advantages: Execellent Sound, vaule for money and excellent features
Disadvantages: Can be too bassy

...I brought this Hi-fi system Technics SH-EH500 3 yrs ago now and cannot fault it in anyway. It cost me at the time of purchase £500 and is still worth every penny spent. It’s superwoofer is a good feature and the clock/timer feature is good too as it gets you up in the mornings. It's very powerful due to the many bass features it has so maybe a bit to powerful for a typical household environment. The Hifi it's self is very sylish looking Black with Gold trim. It came with these accessories AC power supply cord, Remote control transmitter, Remote control batteries, FM indoor antenna, AM loop antenna set, Speaker cords and Antenna plug adaptor. These are all the features on the Hi-fi: Tuner/amplifier section Clock/timer button Power “standby” button Timer on/off buttons (play & rec) Tuning mode select... Read review

Are Technic 1210's Dated?
Review of Technics SL-1210 by  thedjcraiglee

Advantages: Industry Standard Decks
Disadvantages: Technology being left behind??

...I have had a set of Technic 1210's for around two years now. The design (even up to the MK5 Specials) still has not changed. This may cause a problem due to Technic's competition increasingly undercutting the price of 1210's and having decks which are more advanced technology wise. For example compare the Stanton STR8150 & Vestax PDX2300, with the Technic 1210s or even the 1210's MK5G's and you will see what i mean. This turntable is the industry standard (although i donot know how long for), it has pitch control -8 to +8, lights etc, huge torque (essential), anti-skate control, head shells, adjustable tone arms etc. Altogether a good solid turntable. The motor is almost gauranteed to keep this turntable turning for years and years, the quality of the work manship & quality of the components are apparent throughout this turntable... Read review

Technics 1200 / 1210 Mk2
Review of Technics SL1200Mk2 Turntable by  giles-y

Advantages: same turntable at home as in the clubs
Disadvantages: heavy

...Technics 1200 / 1210 what more can you say its the number one DJ turntable on the planet. For years and years when i was younger just geting in to Djing all i wanted was a pair of technics. after a few years with other direct drive decks i finally saved enough money to buy a pair i of technics, i bought the SL1200Mk2 because they were silver i did not like the brown of the 1210 much. i have read around and talked to people and aparently the only difference between the 1200 and the 1210 is the colour. I set up my new 1200s and got the tunes out. Wow what a turntable, after years of trying out all other types of direct drive turntables i could instantly see and feel the difference in build quality. the technics weight alot compared to any other turntable, this is because the bottom black base you see is not made of cheap moulded... Stylish and Technical
Review of Technics SC-DV 290 by  peteyl

Advantages: Brilliant sound quality
Disadvantages: A lot of trust in electronics

...that a cd may eventualy get stuck, it may not be true but it seems the type of item that it may happen to. The hi-fi comes with two big speakers and three surround sound ones giving a chrystal clear 360w of sound. The hi-fi has diiferent sound settings including super surround, which provides supurb quality of sound all round, and pro logic which allows the user to customize the sound patterns. The cd player is also a dvd player and so the hi-fi produces a great cinema sound experience. The hi-fi has two tape decks which are opened by pressing electronic buttons so again i am wery of trusting electronics. The CD player accepts many formats, wma/mp3 on cd-r and rw discs and you can show pictures on it using the same TV used for the DVD player. The unit has RDS which allows you to make it interupt music your listening to and find... Read review

The Inspectah "Decks" the competition
Review of Uncontrolled Substance [PA] - Inspectah Deck by  bigdiship-hop

Advantages: Deck is an amazing lyricist, Some Truly Excellent Beats, Good Subject Matter
Disadvantages: A few average tracks, some weaker beats

...Inspectah Deck is arguably the most forgotten member of the Wu-Tang Clan, regardless of the type of fan you happen to be. Right on par with the top lyricists of the Wu-Tang Clan (Gza, Masta Killa, Priest), Inspectah Deck has always been there to shine on every song he appeared on within the first two Wu-Tang albums. Inspectah Deck is known by many non-casual fans as the man who dropped the second verse on the infamous Wu classic "C.R.E.A.M.", and the opening verse on the truly memorable hit "Triumph. In fact, all of his appearances on Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) and Wu-Tang Forever were excellent, as he often stole the show. In 1999, the Wu-Tang Clan was virtually in shambles. Method Man was embracing his pop-status, ODB was locked up, Rza was fast selling out transforming into Bobby Digital, Raekwon's second album was nothing... Read review
