Smooth player from Technics

Advantages: Great sound, loads of features
Disadvantages: May not be an advantage over SL PG490

...This was the first separates CD player I have ever brought, and I was impressed. It's advantages over the '490 are small - it has quick access to tracks on the front panel, and contains a few editing features designed for use with a tape deck. However, I found an offer that made the 590 equal in price to the 490, so I thought, why not, I won't lose anything! I was impressed with the strong, powerful sound coming from this machine. CD audio is the standard by which all other sources are set, and for the money I spent on this (£80, from Richer Sounds) I certainly have no other sources in my system that sound quite like this. Lego Technic Combine Harvester

Advantages: Looks so cool! Fun to assemble
Disadvantages: Don't misplace any pieces!

...Me and my boyfriend received this for Christmas from my parents. We tried to make it together doing different parts, but since you have to follow the instructions very carefully and do one step after another this was not really working, so I just had to sit next to my boyfriend and watch while he did it! My mum got this from John Lewis for £49.99 but it is also available from the Lego website for the same price. I have also seen Lego Technic available in Toys'R'Us so it is not hard to get a hold of. Lego Technic looks quite different from the 'normal' Lego that we all know. The parts are smaller than the normal lego bricks. It is like a more 'grown up' lego. Gotta Love Technics!

Advantages: Build quality.
Disadvantages: Would be good to have a wider pitch range.

...This is yet another update to the industry standard direct drive Technics SL1200 turntable. To be honest, this is not massively different to the M3 edition, the most noticeable difference is the white LED light and the anti-skate control (which I never adjust anyway). As with all Technics, this plays records at either 33 or 45 rpm and you have the option to select the speed between -8% and +8%. This turntable also has the 'pitch reset' button which, if pressed, ignores the pitch selected on the fader and plays the record as if at 0%. A nice feature, although I hardly use it. Putting the cartridge and stylus together was a tricky job but these things always are. Review of technics 1210's deejay tuntables

Advantages: proven track record, strong motor, good for club or bedroom deejay extremely robust
Disadvantages: I dont see many although some people may want to change the look of the turntable

...Recently the 1210's from technics have been under seige for the number one spot. they have been industry standard for over thirty years and every1 knows when you at the top you always have someone waiting for you to make your mistake. So Its unfortunate for the competition that technics dont really do mistakes and they are number one for a reason. They are not much to look at but the build quality and durability are out of this world, words cannot describe how smooth these turntables feel at your fingertips, i personaly have had 2 sets in the past the mark 3's and the mark 2's i own today ( my original decks are still going strong being used by a friend who bought them when i needed space ) They sell from anywhere between 500 to 600 pounds each brand new or you can pick up a second hand pair for below 600 pound. My wonderful Technics keyboard

Advantages: Brilliant sounds! Beautiful to play

...Ciao have finally put the category in for my Technics SX-KN2600 keyboard, so I just HAVE to tell you all about this wonderful musical instrument! I should firstly let you know that I'm a competent keyboard / paino player, nothing special but I can play a few tunes and write some half-decent songs. I don't claim to be a master musician or a master songwriter, but I do love sitting down at the keyboard and messing about, working with sounds and arrangements and seeing if I can suddenly "stumble" into a new song (because that's really the best for it sometimes- you can be absently noodling and suddenly find you have an idea for a song- it just builds from there). From reading previous reviews on ITV Player I was expecting lengthy breaks with lots of adverts sporadically placed throughout the programme. This wasn?t the case; the adverts were scheduled as they would be on the television. However they weren?t as lengthy. For example the Aviva sponsorship advert was followed by 3 short Natwest banking adverts before the programme resumed. The quality of the programme wasn?t as it would be on your LCD/Plasma television, but it wasn?t too bad. Technic Concealer with Tea Tree...Cheap Isn't Always Nasty!
