Technics NOT technical...
Review of Technics SH-EH750 by
rachels_ratty
Advantages: Everything!
Disadvantages: None
...and I had become the very proud owner of a Technics SH-EH750 separates system complete with 5 speaker Dolby Pro Logic surround sound, 5 CD changer, twin cassette deck, full remote control and a whole host of other exciting twiddly bits (well I did after I had parted with 499.95GBP and they had delivered it…).
~Set up~
Now this couldn’t have been simpler although I confess to having nightmares about it before it arrived; bad dreams induced by the fact that my other old system has enough cabling and leads behind it to rewire the house!
After I had made the decision that I was going to ‘stack’ all four components on top of each other as opposed to opting for the ‘side by side’ look (2 stacks of 2 units placed next to each other), getting the system up and running really couldn’t have been any simpler. Plug in a few ‘flat’ cables, hook...

Do not watch a horror movie using these speakers
Review of Mission FS2 AV Speaker System by
thijsj
Advantages: small, excellent sound
Disadvantages: a matter of taste
...I am not an audio specialist, so I will just try to tell you in my own words the experience with this audio video speaker system set. If you want to know about the exact technical specifications, please visit the Mission website at http://www.mission.co.uk/index1.htm and click on product gallery, FS2 AV.
The system comprises a centre speaker, 4 satellite speakers (front left & right and surround left & right) and an active subwoofer. Mission managed to keep the speakers very small (HxWxD = 31x13x4.5cm!)given the fact that a new technology is used (NXT, see www.nxt.co.uk). With this technology you do not need cones of various sizes to reproduce sounds of various wavelengths. The speakers are actually made of a sandwich construction of 2mm foam core with woven glass fiber outer skin. The idea bhind NXT is that a speaker sound panel...

There is nothing Techincal about Technics
Review of Technics SH-EH750 by
rpblagz
Advantages: Powerful Sexy Beast
Disadvantages: None that i have found!
...took me less than 15 minutes to set up! Ample length in cables are provided so you can set up that cinmea experience in you own home. 2X160watt central speakers and 3 surround speaker give you that great feel of sophistication in your own home!
All in all very worthwhile! I bought mine about 2 or 3 years ago at about £450 brand new, at this moment in time newer models have been released by technics but just to show the value this system is still retailed at about £400 just shows the real value of this system is priceless! A system you defintaley will be proud of no matter what!...

Technics CD Micro HiFi System
Review of Technics SC-HD 350 by
jala
Advantages: Modern simple design. Interchangeable unit arrangement. Remote. Very good quality sound output. Linkable to PC.
Disadvantages: Bass & Treble controls slightly basic.
...Technics SC-HD350 Micro HiFi System
I spent some time looking for the right stereo system. I wanted a Micro system but with separate units. I eventually decided upon the Technics SC-HD350 Micro HiFi system, because it was the only one that was both affordable and stylish (in my opinion). The technics system, I feel, is in a class of it's own, as the style is very much like many of the better known separate micro systems, but is much cheaper.
The Amplifier
The system's sound quality very good. I was used to using an amplifier, so I knew what sound quality I should expect. I was not disappointed by the sound at all. The amplifier unit is capable of sound reproduction in the range of -76 to 0dB (decibels). 0 dB is VERY loud, while -76 is virtually silent.
The amplifier has bass and treble controls, in the form of buttons...

My wonderful Technics keyboard
Review of Technics SX-KN2600 by
bagoproverbial
Advantages: Brilliant sounds! Beautiful to play
Disadvantages: Takes a while to learn navigation of the functions
..., when I managed to save up enough I bought a (now horribly dated) Yamaha PSS-780. This is now gathering dust in the box room, a sad musuem piece with some broken keys. For the last few years I'vebeen itching to buy another, up to date keyboard and after much consultation and comparison, I took the plunge (and this was quite a plunge at nearly £800) and went for the Technics SX-KN2600.
If you're a bi of a keyboard geek like me then you'll appreciate this description. The instrument really is beautiful- silver, with black speakers and a pleasant blue display screen in the centre where you can carry out all the synthesizer and arrangement actions.
There are far too many functions in this instrument to describe adequately in this review- the manual itself is a good thick tome for a publication of its type- but I'll endeavour to go through...

Good computer speakers
Review of Cambridge SW310 Speakers by
philhartley
Advantages: Brilliant sound
Disadvantages: None to date.
...I have just purchased some new computer speakers for listening to all my downloaded music. I have bought Cambridge Soundworks, they set me back £40.00. I bought them from P.C.World. The model No.SW310.
Anybody who listens to music and has got the standard computer speakers I would recommend purchasing these A.S.A.P. The sound production is fantastic. There are 2 small satelite speakers and a Subwoofer. The subwoofer produces the deeper, low frequency bass while the two small satelite speakers blend in the mid and high frequency audio.
Ideal for music, games and every day general use, it also come with a little remote control attached by a small cable.
Technical specifications:
Subwoofer power Output-12Watts RMS
Satelite Power Output-4.5Watts RMS per channel
PMPO-250Watts
Frequency- 38Hz - 20kHz
Go and get some now....

Stylish and Technical
Review of Technics SC-DV 290 by
peteyl
Advantages: Brilliant sound quality
Disadvantages: A lot of trust in electronics
...that a cd may eventualy get stuck, it may not be true but it seems the type of item that it may happen to.
The hi-fi comes with two big speakers and three surround sound ones giving a chrystal clear 360w of sound. The hi-fi has diiferent sound settings including super surround, which provides supurb quality of sound all round, and pro logic which allows the user to customize the sound patterns.
The cd player is also a dvd player and so the hi-fi produces a great cinema sound experience.
The hi-fi has two tape decks which are opened by pressing electronic buttons so again i am wery of trusting electronics.
The CD player accepts many formats, wma/mp3 on cd-r and rw discs and you can show pictures on it using the same TV used for the DVD player.
The unit has RDS which allows you to make it interupt music your listening to and find...

Technics Hifi System
Review of Technics SH-EH500 by
Toady
Advantages: Execellent Sound, vaule for money and excellent features
Disadvantages: Can be too bassy
...I brought this Hi-fi system Technics SH-EH500 3 yrs ago now and cannot fault it in anyway. It cost me at the time of purchase £500 and is still worth every penny spent. It’s superwoofer is a good feature and the clock/timer feature is good too as it gets you up in the mornings. It's very powerful due to the many bass features it has so maybe a bit to powerful for a typical household environment. The Hifi it's self is very sylish looking Black with Gold trim.
It came with these accessories AC power supply cord, Remote control transmitter, Remote control batteries, FM indoor antenna, AM loop antenna set, Speaker cords and Antenna plug adaptor.
These are all the features on the Hi-fi:
Tuner/amplifier section
Clock/timer button
Power “standby” button
Timer on/off buttons (play & rec)
Tuning mode select...

iPod speakers
Review of Altec Lansing IM3 Ipod speakers by
xxnatashaxx
Advantages: Portable and lightweight
Disadvantages: You have to be very careful with them.
...I received these speakers as a Birthday present in March from a friend. I was thrilled with them as I had been desperate for a docking station or speakers to play my iPod on.
The speakers:
The speakers are very attractive and compact yet produce a rich deep bass sound, which is not always present on speakers of this size. They are very lightweight and fold to close at 15 ounces and 8 inches wide, 5.4 inches deep and 1.2 inches thick. The box the speakers come in quotes "With four AA batteries your speakers will play continuously for twenty-four hours" which sounds brilliant but in my experience on 2 x AA batteries they will play for 19 hours.
As well as built in controls there is a wireless remote but you do have to be quite near to the speakers and at the right angle for the remote to actually work!
The speakers also act...

Are you after some new speaker's?
Review of Monitor Audio Silver S1 Bookshelf Speakers by
consumerpower
Advantages: Looks, sound, build, just about everything really
Disadvantages: You can't buy them new anymore, Monitor Audio has replaced them with a newer model the RS1
...how well they are built. With a beautifully crafted real wood veneer, a very modern looking silver alloy driver and a gold coloured metallic tweeter protected by silver mesh they manage to mix the old with contemporary perfectly. Too many speaker's within the S1's price and performance range have a very bland, old fashioned appearance. At the other end of the spectrum very modern and exotically styled speakers do so at the expensive of looking a bit cheap and plasticky. The S1's balanced appearance of old with new was what first attracted me to them .
One of the unique features I like most about the design is the fact that the round metal mesh protecting the tweeter can be removed, in the same way you would remove the speaker cover's. This is a feature that will help improve your ability to hear the tweeter accurately and you may...
