Technika Television
Review of Technika LCD19DVDID-107 by
Hsaxo
Advantages: Compact, Stylish
Disadvantages: Slightly slow software
...Technika television all though not a very common or well known brand is a exptional product of very high quality. I own and am very pleased with my Technika television that we purchased from our local Tesco store.
It was easy to install with auto setu so it's basically plug it in and it's all ready to use.
The quality of picture is very good and does not have any reflections from the sun shining on it that i have found very irritating when you are trying to watch something on other brand of televisions. The picture is sharp and well contrasted with brilliant colour.
The sound is also very high quality never fuzzy and never any varied volumes.
The television itself is in a subtle silver colour fitting in well with any bedroom colour a credit to the room itself. It is none bulky and doesn't take up much space making it easy...

Great value TV
Review of Technika LCD-19-907 by
laramax
Advantages: Excellent value, good range of features
Disadvantages: Little known manufacturer
...When I did some work on my kitchen a couple of years ago I decided to install a little LCD TV on a wall bracket so that I could rotate it to watch the TV in the kitchen or the dining area. It worked just fine and the little 15" LCD TV was OK. Well it was until I realised I could also watch the TV out in the conservatory and then, to be honest, the picture just wasn't big enough!
I got to thinking that a 19" TV was what was needed and started looking around for something suitable that wouldn't actually break the bank. One day when wandering into TESCO I spotted a big pile of Technika 19" TVs on offer. The price tag said they were reduced from £179.99 to £149.99 and they just seemed too much of a bargain to pass them by. I thought about it overnight and popped back to TESCO the following day to put one in my shopping trolley...

19" S-series Bravia LCD tv.Looks great on my wall
Review of Sony KLV-S19A10 19" by
randhawa
Advantages: its a sony :) great picture quality. excellant features
Disadvantages: none
...This 19" S-series BRAVIA TV LCD television is just beautiful. It looks so good - way better than most of the "plasticy" looking lcd tvs out at the moment.
Bravia is a new Sony brand which, as Sony suggests, introduces the "next generation of LCD TVs to showcase Sony's technological expertise." What does Bravia stand for? "Best Resolution Audio Video Integrated Architecture".
This tv has some great features:
The TV also comes with Virtual Dolby and "TruSurround", a surround sound system that emulates real surround sound via the two speaker playback system. Six discrete channels of Digital audio are processed into just two channels and delivered over two speakers, provding a completely immersive experience, and the sensory perception that you are surrounded by additional speakers. I have definitely noticed the difference...

VW Polo 1.9 S SDi
Review of VW Polo 1.9 D by
hmr1717
Advantages: Comfort and safety
Disadvantages: no CD Player!
...felt safer in the Polo - I'm not sure why?! But I felt the Lupo would be lost on the motorway doing motorway speeds and doing around a 100 miles a day. The Golf was too big for me, and with big comes price...too expensive, insurance too!
So I was happy with the VW Polo diesel, so it was a decision between 1.4 and 1.9. I was told by a firend that whilst the 1.4 was very good with fuel efficiency, the 1.9 would be more comfortable doing the miles that I do.
There was a choice between the E and S model. The E is entry level spec, basics. The S is the higher spec model with electric windows, electric heated mirrors, Climate control, anti hijack locking system etc.
I was lucky to find a reasonably priced VW Polo 1.9 S SDi within my price range with good mileage. I have only had it a week but learning a lot about it already.
I didnt...

Freeview recording if you can't afford a Humax
Review of Technika AED-TR 160 S 7 by
AlistairBirch
Advantages: Program Guide really clear and simple, quite good features
Disadvantages: No series link, not the most energy efficient box.
...I have been using Freeview for a while now with a single set top box and as with many other people I was getting fed up that I couldn't record two digital channels or even record one and watch another. My solution to this problem was to look into the growing range of personal video recorders PVR's that are coming onto the market.
The guidelines for my purchase were that I wanted to have a twin tuner which would allow recording of 2 digital channels and I also wanted to keep to a budget of £120 max. Be careful here as not all twin tuner recorders will let you record 2 programs at the same time. The Technika one does but many record one channel whilst you watch another.
Unfortunately my budget ruled out Humax and Topfield which most people seem to think are the best as they are about £160+.
I bought the Technika about a week...

for 19 yr olds I think not
Review of 19 by
kwhyte
Advantages: s'ok to read
Disadvantages: bit boring
...Just like lots of other magazines on the market nowadays, this one (which is apparently for women age 19+) is mostly read by those younger (any age from 14+)I've never seen a 19 year old with a copy of this magazine.
In it, there's all the usual- horoscopes, pages of fasion etc. I hate the way magazines hold 1000's of pages of fasion that are quite disgusting. It seems so pointless. This magazine is also pretty bad in the was of having adverts every few pages. They have quite large problem pages (useful) but seems to talk too much about nail varnish and clothes for it to be really interesting. Unlike many magazines, they're not obsessed with sex- it is a part of the magazine but not all of it.
All these factors just mean the bag is quite boring.
Avaliable in basically all news agents for about £2....

Still happy with Renault Scenic 1.9 Dci
Review of Renault Scénic 1.9 dCi by
Fenko
Advantages: Smooth, comfortable drive.
Disadvantages: Hubby complains it is not a turbo diesel!
...This time last year we purchased a 1 year old, ex demonstration Renault Scenic 1.9 Dci, luxury version with leather seats etc. (Monaco model)
Let me warn you in advance: Once you have a scenic, there is no way back! It has changed the way in which we look at cars as any other regular car suddenly seems cramped and uncomfortable. It is somewhat Tardis like - appearing compact from the outside but is roomy inside.
The Scenic has a typical French ride - very smooth and comfortable. The seating position is upright with a good view over other (or should I say, inferior?) cars. The front seats are fully adjustable for height and distance from front. In addition, the drivers seat also has an adjustable lumbar support. The steering wheel is also adjustable, making the chance that you find a good position very high!
In the rear...

VW Polo 1.9D - chews up the road!
Review of VW Polo 1.9 D by
jemmarhodes168
Advantages: Comfortable ride, reliable and get hundreds of miles out of the tank!
Disadvantages: Lacks in fancy gagets, a TDi may be a better drive
...My little Polo is a 1996 plate 1.9D bought from my sister-in-law about a month ago.
I have owned a Polo before, but this little one is purley brilliant!!
This car is not brimming with features, but has all the standard stuff you could want - central locking, electric mirrors and best of all - comfort!
Although its small I have never driven a car that was so easy to sit there and relax in! I've owned a lot of cars - most of them much bigger and therefore you would have thought more comfortable and robust! Not the case at all! I could drive for hours in this.
She has done just over 77000 miles but as most people will tell you, VW's have everything to give and I am confident that she is going to keep going for a long time yet!
I do a lot of motorway miles, but even so with it being a 1.9 I was concerned with the consumption...

Laguna 1.9dCi Hatchback
Review of Renault Laguna 1.9 dCi by
cpennington
Advantages: Safe
Disadvantages: Uncomfortable
...I drive a reasonable number of miles in my work (around 3000/month) and have recently had the opportunity to sample several cars in this class. The Laguna has been my least favourite for a number of reasons.
Firstly, I have been driving this particular vehicle for around 5 months. It is a hire car, and I am unsure of the trim level - there are no other markings on the car other than 1.9dCi. It is an up to date model - 05 plate.
My main issue is comfort. I am just over 6ft & I find that the door handle is constantly rubbing my knee. This sounds minor, but when you are in a car for a couple of hours it becomes a huge annoyance. I have tried every adjustment but have yet to find a comfortable seating position. Also note that boot space is less than I expected.
Another area worth mentioning is the sun visor. When this is down...
