...Card buying can be an expensive thing, especially at this time of year and as much as I love the quality of the cards in stores such as Clintons, with my large family I just cannot afford to buy all my family cards from stores such as these at Christmas. So I was pretty impressed with Card Factory opened up a store in my local town recently. For me this store offers good quality products, but at really cost effective prices. Obviously their main market is the card market. They offer cards for all occasions including birthdays, anniversaries, moving, sorry, thank you and general cards too. Their cards are priced at 59p for a small card, 89p for a medium card and 99p for a large card, which for me is excellent value for money. Technika Television

Advantages: Compact, Stylish
Disadvantages: Slightly slow software

...Technika television all though not a very common or well known brand is a exptional product of very high quality. I own and am very pleased with my Technika television that we purchased from our local Tesco store. It was easy to install with auto setu so it's basically plug it in and it's all ready to use. The quality of picture is very good and does not have any reflections from the sun shining on it that i have found very irritating when you are trying to watch something on other brand of televisions. The picture is sharp and well contrasted with brilliant colour. The sound is also very high quality never fuzzy and never any varied volumes. ...I love the original story and read it many times as a child and the original film was great, but it was becoming a little dated so when I heard there was going to be a remake I was so excited, this should be great especially with the great Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka and I was not disappointed. The story is about five children that are given the chance to visit Willy Wonka's chocolate factory, the only catch is that they have to buy chocolate bars in order to find a golden ticket and win the trip of a lifetime. Disadvantages: some trouble with 3GP conversion for me??

...I have just been watching the children's classic Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory with my two daughters and we have all really enjoyed it. I had seen it years ago but had forgotten just waht a good film it is, and watching it as an adult has been just enjoyable. The film was made in 1971 and is based on the wonderful book by Roald Dahl. Deconstructing Frank in The Wasp Factory

Advantages: Dark, thought provoking page turner - exceedingly well written
Disadvantages: Dark. Very dark. Disturbing. Scenes of animal and child cruelty

Fortunately, he doesn't kill people any more - it was just a passing phase, when he killed Blythe, Paul and Esmeralda (not all at once, mind you). Frank's brother Eric is also deeply unhinged, with a penchant for burning dogs, and his father isn't entirely playing with a full deck either. The Wasp Factory is a strange book. The plot, such as it is, follows Frank on his isolated Scottish Island as he prepares for the imminent arrival of his half-brother Eric, who has escaped from a secure mental institution. Technika 8" digital photo frame good value for money

Advantages: 1GB internal memory built-in, easy of use
Disadvantages: May not be recognized by certain computer e.g. XP Home with AMD chip?

...My Mrs wanted me to buy a digital photo frame because our friends have recently got one. So I started to look at the most common 7" frames and then she said they are a bit small. The next one up is 8" but with much less choices. That is not too bad because it is easier to make a decision. It was down to the final two - Tesco's Technika SR08 or the Linx 8" from Amazon. While I was browsing and investigating at my leisure, Amazon suddenly raised the price from £52.43 to £78.28! This makes the Linx too expensive. So I have just bought the Technika SR08 from Tesco Direct for £58.48 instead. The set up was easy - plug and play (well not quite that straight forward, see below). For the picture display the screen resolution is 800 x 600 pixels, better than the Linx DPF. However the manual did not mentio the screen...

Advantages: Family entertainment, fun, easy-going, available on DVD!
Disadvantages: Doesn't stick to the original story. May lead to eating large amounts of chocolate.

...Opening with a bowl of melting chocolate is most definitely the way to get people (or chocoholics, at least) hooked onto a film. Charlie, a little boy from a poor family, finds a Golden Ticket in his chocolate bar, which means he and an accompanying adult can go on a tour of Willy Wonka's chocolate factory along with other winners. The factory employs all-singing and all-dancing Oompa-Loompas, who sing about each of the children and their faults. The story shows us a little bit about each winner, but focuses mainly on flashbacks had by Willy Wonka (owner of the factory and candy-maker extraordinaire) about his lonely childhood and his dentist father.
