Advantages: Superb Sound, Very Loud, Ideal for Ipods Disadvantages: not go to travel with, Extremely Expensive
...Bose SoundDock Digital Music System
I happened to get this as a gift and it turned out to be quiet interesting
Summary:
This dock is used mainly for ipod and allows you to connet mp3 players to it and listen to high quality music via speakers. It is idle for homes and small gatherings, although I would not run a party off these.
Pros:
This system has terrific sound and can go very load despite its relative small size. As with almost all Bose speakers the quality is amazing, so long as the source you are playing it from is high quality it will allow the speakers to each its potential.
I have a surround sound Bose set up in one of my rooms but now prefer to use this product as it is very simple to operate. Just plug the mp3 player in and press play and your set. Can't get much simpler. It also runs off a wall...
Advantages: Super sound quality, Portable, Charges IPod Disadvantages: Remote is easy to lose, Quite expensive
...This niffty little kit is great for ipod users that have brought all their music from itunes and not from cd.
About 2 months ago i got my self a a new 80gb classic ipod and was getting a bit tired of walking around my house with my ipod pluged into my ears. So i got one of these wonderful sound docks from Bose. Bose are well know for the quality of there sound systems. The sound they produce is just simply amazing. You hear and feel deeper depths to the songs you already know and you fall in love with the tracks all over again. This being said i did my research and found i wanted this one. Picked it up for £279 with 2 years free guarantee from my local John Lewis. Which for me is a bit pricey, and there are cheaper ones on the market but i had my heart set on this and im so glad i did.
Its slick and stylist, it fits in with most...
Advantages: Incredible sound from such a small unit, good build quality Disadvantages: Price
...the battery off as this is the bit that weighs a lot. The controls are easy - you put your ipod on the dock (or connect something else to it) and then there are two touch sensitive controls on the right hand side for volume. It switches off automatically and charges your ipod whilst it is connected.
I don't think that you could compare it to a decent separates system, but for the size of the unit, the sound is incredible. You can turn up the volume quite loud and there is no distortion. There is a sound port on the back which doubles as the handle, and I found that putting against a wall gives a much deeper bass.
The only negative I have to say about the unit is that the power adaptor is massive and could have been designed better. It also comes with a remote control that lets you mimic some of the control features of your ipod - volume...
Advantages: Superior sound quality. Credit card remote Disadvantages: Expensive, Mains only, Some design flaws.
...Spec:
Size: 29.8cmx16.6cmx16.3cm
Weight: 2.1kg
Power: As a rule Bose do not tell! - exceeds 15 W RMS easily (ie will burst ear drums in a small-medium living room)...
General
A relatively large and heavy speaker. Why? Because like Apple (NB IPOD 60GB video) BOSE tend not to do things by half and the size and weight are needed to produce some of the loudest and clearest sounds possible. Dock your IPOD in the SoundDock and it charges too. However, compared to its rivals this speaker system is much more expensive.....so why should you buy it ...or not?
Sound
This is, as it is standard with most BOSE speakers, the principal focus and main marketing point. Should it be? Why YES, for its size this system quite simply is the best money can buy. It is loud, very loud. I have had mine up to full volume with deep bass...
Advantages: size, ease of use, sound quality Disadvantages: can't connect to a computer, price
...figure out what they do. It also charges your iPod while it's docked, so there's no worry about it running out of battery while using the SoundDock.
I think the best thing I could say about this, is that two people, after having listened to my SoundDock have literally rushed out and bought their own.
I've had this almost a year now and my overall conclusion is this...it's small, it's pretty and it sounds bloody brilliant....
Advantages: stylish, perfect clarity, long lasting, valuable remote Disadvantages: none
...In my opinion the Bose sounddock was a great spend. I was looking for a quality product to enable me to listen to my iPod. I shopped around and tried out a few other speakers, e.g. JBL onstage. The Bose sound was remarkable. It was so clear it was unbelievable. I got a surround sound feeling whilst listening to the speakers and there was no sign of the low hum or odd crackle one sometimes finds accompanies certian speakers.
I have now had my Bose speakers for a year. One year on and they still look new (the newer model still looks the same) and the sound is still clear and precise.
It is very easy to function and from my point of view speakers which come without a remote are an uneccesary hassle, fortunately the Bose Sounddock comes with a very well equipped remote. Not too small to lose it among you things, and not too large to be...
Advantages: Good Sound, Charges Ipod Disadvantages: Mains Only, No computer connection No aux input
...The Bose SoundDock is a smart, stylish sound system for your ipod.
The look of this piece of kit is smart, It looks very stylish. Available in white or black. The Design is arched which allows for the sound to be angled when in use. The back is pretty plain and houses most of the components. Bang centre on the front you will see the docking area fro your beloved ipod. This unit has a larger footprint than its competitors 6.65" H x 11.91 W x 6.48" D (16.89cm x 30.26 x 16.47cm) 4.56lbs and weighs 2.1kg.
Out of the box it is very easy to set up - take out unit and place in desired zone, plug in the adaptor at the back and then into the wall. Plug in the relevant docking adaptor for your ipod and that's it. The power rating on the box specified 110v on mine however the power adaptor supplied was multi voltage.
Bose claim there...
Advantages: Great sound, sturdy, easy to use Disadvantages: Only runs off mains power
...Before I got my iPod and sounddock, I was one of those who refuses to subscribe to the technological revolution. Prefering hi-fi and compact disc to the digital music phenomenon. However, within a week (once I'd worked out how to use it), I was hooked on my iPod and once I got the sound-dock, there was no turning back. I think it's fairly safe to say that the era of compact disc players and tape decks is over... The only reason I still have a normal cd player in my house is to listen to the radio, and those few albums that I just haven't got around to putting on my iPod yet.
The Bose sound-dock is a piece of mastery in the area of audio technology. Beautiful, sleek and streamlined; it's large frontal speaker provides both volume and sound quality. The music I play on the sound-dock sounds almost incomparably better than CDs...
Advantages: Easy to use, decent speed Disadvantages: Not particularly reliable
...This cable comes with your iPod. It's the only way provided free with the iPod for you to recharge it. You plug it into a desktop or laptop computer and your iPod will charge via the power provided to the computer.
It seemed adequate enough when I was first using it, as long as the cable works and it's not too slow there aren't many complaints you can have unless it breaks. Clearly my luck isn't too good. The cable broke after 2-3yrs, it didn't snap so initially I wasn't sure why my iPod wouldn't recharge but which is cheaper, replacing the iPod battery or buying a new cable?
I wasn't too pleased to find out the price of a new cable so I decided to go with a cheap import from Hong Kong (not an iPod brand cable) which cost me only £2-3 and I've had no problems with it as of yet. I certainly wouldn't pay the £13-16 the iPod cable...
Advantages: Pure Sound, Great Bass, Suprising Volume! Disadvantages: None
...I did not expect this level of sound quality from such a small speaker! The Bose SoundDock is a small, compact speaker system for the Ipod range. It has great looks, amzing sound quality and suprising power!
There are two different sound docks.. the first one was basically a plug in speaker system just for use with the ipod, perfectly good for anyone who is looking for amazing quality. This one costs £199. The second one they bought out, which i have also got, is the same system apart from it has few extra features. It has a rechargable battery so you can listen to it on the move, it has a carry handle built into the back for ease of transportation, the dock is on a rotating platfrom so it can be made to fit flush to the dock and then open at a touch and then most importantly it has a 3.5mm Aux input that now the user is not limited...
