...Technika television all though not a very common or well known brand is a exptional product of very high quality. I own and am very pleased with my Technika television that we purchased from our local Tesco store. It was easy to install with auto setu so it's basically plug it in and it's all ready to use. The quality of picture is very good and does not have any reflections from the sun shining on it that i have found very irritating when you are trying to watch something on other brand of televisions. The picture is sharp and well contrasted with brilliant colour. The sound is also very high quality never fuzzy and never any varied volumes. The television itself is in a subtle silver colour fitting in well with any bedroom colour a credit to the room itself. It is none bulky and doesn't take up much space making it easy... Read review

.... What do you get for your money? The Technika LCD 19-907 is a basic 19" LCD TV with built in Freeview (they do a version with a built in DVD which is a little dearer but that wasn't what I wanted). It has a built in stand which you can remove if you are mounting it on a wall bracket like I was, however if, like me, you have a Wii then it is worth leaving the stand in place as it makes a convenient place to site the sensor bar! The surround to the screen is a smart black colour and the speakers are mounted below the screen which was important to me as I didn't want any extra width. The ON/OFF switch and volume controls etc are mounted down the right hand side and the connections for the aerial and SCART are on the rear facing downwards. There is just one SCART socket which I do think is a drawback when you want to connect... Read review

Advantages: Portable and lightweight

...I received these speakers as a Birthday present in March from a friend. I was thrilled with them as I had been desperate for a docking station or speakers to play my iPod on. The speakers: The speakers are very attractive and compact yet produce a rich deep bass sound, which is not always present on speakers of this size. They are very lightweight and fold to close at 15 ounces and 8 inches wide, 5.4 inches deep and 1.2 inches thick. The box the speakers come in quotes "With four AA batteries your speakers will play continuously for twenty-four hours" which sounds brilliant but in my experience on 2 x AA batteries they will play for 19 hours. As well as built in controls there is a wireless remote but you do have to be quite near to the speakers and at the right angle for the remote to actually work! The speakers also act... Read review

With a beautifully crafted real wood veneer, a very modern looking silver alloy driver and a gold coloured metallic tweeter protected by silver mesh they manage to mix the old with contemporary perfectly. Too many speaker's within the S1's price and performance range have a very bland, old fashioned appearance. At the other end of the spectrum very modern and exotically styled speakers do so at the expensive of looking a bit cheap and plasticky. The S1's balanced appearance of old with new was what first attracted me to them . One of the unique features I like most about the design is the fact that the round metal mesh protecting the tweeter can be removed, in the same way you would remove the speaker cover's. ...I got these speaker is 2004 and they are still going strong. I have taken them on holiday, to school and they are now my computer speakers. They can be used about every where. Amazing peice of kit. ( been half way around the world) Hardley dented at all. Unlike normal computer speakers or portable speakers these include a small amplifier with the volume control and added "bass boost " controls. This is really great as the speakers can be on another shelf and the amplifier can be on your desk so you can control them without moving all the time. -The speakers- The speakers are really great quality and can deliver a vast range of tones easily. ...I brought my set of tannoys 15 months ago and, at the time,they cost £300.Now,with a little searching around,they can be obtained for under £200. What you get in the box is five satellite speakers(two front,two rear and a centre speaker) plus a seperate powered subwoofer. You also get wall mounted supports for the two front and two rear speakers and all the speaker cables(i changed the cables to 79 stand q.e.d. speaker cable to improve the sound). Setting up the system is relatively easy:you just need an electric drill for the the wall mounted stands and once fitted,you just connect the cables to your home cinema amp. Easy!! Once you have connected everything,it is time to try out the system. My first reaction and i am sure yours will be the same was one of complete disbelief!! ...Firstly these speakers are known by various names, but they are basically the 6 1/2" or 165mm fit component speakers from Infinity. eg REF605CS or REF6500cs are two other names used. These are the cheaper component - the Kappa range are more expensive, but look very similar. Prices are generally between £90 and £120 I paid just under £100 including carriage from an internet reseller. The speakers came with a large amount of fitting accessories, including grills and tweater flush mount kits, I needed very little of this as I was replacing original fit speakers in a Vauxhall Omega - which were burnt out. Other things I needed were Vauxhall to 6 1/2" speaker adaptor kits, self adhesive pads, wire and a lot of time. There are not many instructions as fitting speakers is different in every car, I had to use the Haynes manual... Read review
