Royal Smokers' M7, my first e-cigarette

Advantages: no smoke, no tar, no burning side-products, you don't smell nasty, no ash, you can smoke in bed!
Disadvantages: starting price, battery needs charging kinda often, you feel funny at first

...The M7 e-cigarette from Royal Smokers I reckon almost everyone's heard about an electronical cigarette already. But what is it really good for, what does it feel like and isn't it maybe even worse (healthwise) than ordinary cigarettes? That were questions I was asking myself after a mate introduced his e-cigarette to me a couple of weeks ago, so I started my own research. Entering the first big tobacco shop and asking about e-cigarettes I got this reply from the lady: "No, we don't sell them and I hope we never will, coz it's way worse than the normal cigarettes, it's even way more expensive...blabla!" My Toshiba Tecra M2 - Warming up to Progress

Advantages: Light, versatile, packed with features
Disadvantages: It's still a laptop

...Let me make it perfectly clear right up front: I'm not overfond of laptops. They're relatively small, usually have rather fuzzy screens, come with small keyboards that make typing difficult, and have strange built-in mice that are nigh onto impossible to manipulate. Given my durthers, I'll take a full-sized PC any day. Despite all these disclaimers, my purpose here to review the Toshiba Tecra M2 notebook, kindly purchased for me by my company to make me more efficient and productive. Now don't get me wrong. I appreciate the sentiments and the logic of the new laptop, even though I use it far less often than my more powerful, less portable desktop. But I have to admit, my Tecra M2 isn't as bad as I feared. Talk about damning with faint praise! Perhaps I can improve a bit on that. There's one thing my Toshiba does remarkable...

Why Buy a Tecra?

Advantages: Fast, Great Graphics Chip, Light (2.6kg)
Disadvantages: Expensive, Sensitive to registry changes

...Why did I buy the Tecra 8100? First of all what I wanted was a desktop replacement machine, one on which I could do all my spreadsheet and word stuff as well as play games. I am an engineer so I need good connectivity options as well. The choice was:- Dell Inspiron 3800, 5000, 7500 Toshiba Tecra 8100 HP Omnibook 6000 The Dells are very good machines, I used to old an old 7000 series. The 3800 is light and quite quick, the 5000 has all the multimedia features you need, the 7500 has even more. But... The 3800 is not meant to be used as a desktop replacement, it doesn't have the oomph for that. The 5000 and 7000 are great machines but heavy. The HP Omnibook is the machine I would probably buy by choice except that it is very expensive and uses the ATI graphics card The Tecra is not as expensive as the Omnibook and uses...

...I decided to use a laptop as I'm constantly running from college, to uni to home to london! I needed a laptop that would be easily transportable, with long enough battery life to last. I chose this laptop as it was simple and came with Microsoft Office and Anti-Virus. I bought 3 little boxes (luckily I now have a little more pocket money than I did age 7 as these cost me rather more than I remember them being when I was little being now a pricey 45p for a single box). The box is see through so you can see all your lovely tic-tacs inside waiting to be eaten, now though it?s an see through orange colour instead of just being clear plastic. easier to open than they were when I was a kiddie, too, it?s still got a little white flip up tab that lets you open and close it so you don?t lose tic-tacs you?re not ready to eat, but now there?s a perforation in the sticky backed label which covers it, so you know if your box is fresh and unopened. Good Solid Old Laptop

Disadvantages: slow compared to modern machines, built in mouse

...I have been using the Toshiba Tecra 9000 for about two years now. The laptop is very good. The inbuilt wireless and Bluetooth are very useful. The built in SD Card reader is also useful, but only runs at USB 1.1 speed so can be a little slow when transferring lots of files. The screen is bright and clear and copes well with playing DVDs. It is a fast enough PC to watch the BBC iPlayer in full screen. The built in mouse nipple can be a little hard to get used to, so I would recommend a small cordless USB mouse. You can get these for as little as two or three quid from a site like ebuyer. The battery life is ok. There can be some issues with these laptops, and if you have one that is starting to blue screen some information can be found at http://www.squidoo.com/T9000fix. Overall this laptop is suitable for many tasks...

Of all the laptops I come across the tecra is One of the best I have seen.If you want some thing thin and sexy then this is not for you.The benefit of buying this machine are certainly good value for money .first there is the 14.1 tft screen. Then theres the prestigious name.Toshibas are very easy to fix if you come across problems .You can install the hdd yourself. you can install the memory yourself and if you format the hdd the chances are that you will find the drivers for the graphics card and sound card on the win 98 cd.every time I have come across this laptop I have seen pure exellence. Only two issues on the downside one is the price and the other is its slightly bulky....

Great machine at bargin prices

Advantages: Light, sleek and stylish. Great performance and great value for money.
Disadvantages: Largest screen size is 14.1 Inches.

...Working in IT I get to test all the latest machines and I had the pleasure recently of using the Tecra 8100 1Ghz machine running with 256MB and I have to say I was very impressed. Firstly it is quite sleek and light which you want in a laptop and I think it looks very stylish. Now that the asthetics are out of the way we can concentrate on the important things like performance and stability. I have experience of many laptops e.g. Compaq Armadas, Dell Inspirons, Sony Vaios etc but so far the Toshiba Tecra has been th most reliable. The other brands I have mentioned seem to all have problems with the power management systems. Most use speedstep technology which means when the laptop is not plugged in the processor will clock down to save power. This is a pain on most of the other machines but not the Toshiba. Also the biggest problems...
