Edward Scissorhands
Review of Edward Scissorhands DVD by
Uncle_Slug
Advantages: -----
Disadvantages: -----
...Here is my review which doubles up as my English Coursework so here goes!!!!
Plot Summary
The film is a fairytale type film about a creation called Edward that was never finished by his creator. The part of Edward that was never finished was his hands, so instead of Edward having normal hands with fingers, Edward has scissors in their place. Edward lives alone in the same gothic castle that he was created in, and hasn’t been outside the gates of the castle at all. However one day Edward is surprised to find that the ‘Avon Lady’ (Peg Boggs) turns up at his castle trying to sell Avon products. Peg Boggs then takes Edward to live with her family after she saw how Edward was living. From this point the film is pretty basic and we see Edward trying to adapt to normal living after being alone all of his life. When Edward is living...

put the teddy together
Review of Teddy In A box by
mumsymary
Advantages: Good little puzzles
Disadvantages: NONE
...Teddy in a box.
We have one of these puzzles at school and Adrian also has one bought for him as a present from someone.
You can buy this toy at the early learning centre for £4.00.
Teddy in a box is in fact 6 teddies in a box. Each teddy is a different puzzle made up of 3 pieces. There is a doctor teddy, a policeman teddy, and a farmer teddy amongst this group of puzzles.
Each teddy is divided into 3 puzzle pieces. Teddy Head is one puzzle piece, teddies arms and body another, then teddies legs are another puzzle piece. Each corresponding puzzle pieces the same shape.
The object of this puzzle is to complete a teddy with all the correct clothes. This can be fun as you get teddy wearing half a Drs uniform and half a policeman’s they fit but they do look funny try again lets put the right clothes together...

Oh, Edward, what big scissors you have
Review of Edward Scissorhands DVD by
SarahSkas
Advantages: The ultimate cult-classic
Disadvantages: The story is too daft and far fetched for some people
...Edward Scissorhands is the ultimate cult-classic DVD must-have. Released way back in 1990 the film looks a little dated, though for me this adds nostalgia and fondness to the whole film experience.
I first saw this film more than a decade ago and have watched it over and over again on my Special Edition DVD. As with all good films it has never lost its charm or magic and is still as appealing to me today as it ever was.
The film is directed by the somewhat eccentric Director Tim Burton (Batman, Beetlejuice, The Nightmare Before Christmas... all of which I love). If you have been lucky enough to see any of his other marvellous films you may agree that Edward Scissorhands has the same Tim Burton stamp on it as most of the other films he has directed. They have an unmistakable trademark, some of which the signs are...an atmosphere...

Tell me, What is yours Called ?
Review of Teddy Bears by
BUBBLES171
Advantages: Cute and Cuddly
Disadvantages: Take up Space
...Whether you are young or old, male or female, I bet somewhere in the attic or in your abode there is a teddy bear.
So what makes us like and love Teddy Bears?
Where did they originate and how much do they cost and how did they get their name? These are some of the questions that I will try and answer and I will tell you about my collection of Teddy Bears from a 37 year old!
As early as 1830s The Bear became a favourite and so Goldilocks and the Three Bears was written. By the end of the 1800s a bear was shown in a catlogue but had not yet been named as The Teddy Bear. By the start of the 1900s Steiff Bear had been introduced to the world. Almost simutaneously the Americans and the Germans were producing bears. The first known bear that was named a Teddy Bear was sold in a Brooklyn shop in America.
So how did he became known...

My Teddy, My Best Friend
Review of Teddy Bears by
jimmysinghuk
Advantages: Comfy, Secure,Adorable
Disadvantages: lol
...The Best Soft Toys ever!! From when I was a little kid to the day I have a little kid these soft toys have always been my product of choice!!
When I was small I always used to have this small little brown teddy and it cost practically nothing, I named it Eddie and had a special relation with it, later my granddad got me a £2000 teddy from Hemly’s which was huge and so overwhelming that its difficult to describe. Ive always shared special bonds with these unresponsive yet so powerful toys and wish I had some power to just get them to life. My kids now love teddy bears as much or maybe as much as I do and I’ve filled their rooms with bears, I would either recommend Toys-r-us or Hemly’s to purchase this product. Well yes, Hemley’s is a touch expensive but the variety and robustness are proportional, so worry not. Just hugging a teddy can...

well actually .......Many Teddies in a Box :O)
Review of Teddy In A box by
Surveyaholic
Advantages: Fun - Imaginative - Keeps kids amused for some time - Creative
Disadvantages: pieces in my box very thin & small - may get lost
...Oooooh yes - I forgot about that
Whilst looking through a copy of Hawkins Bazaar, i came across the stocking filler page. COOL I thought as there were lots of little gifts for under a fiver.
PERFECT for stocking fillers :O)
I noticed the Teddy in a Box / Mini Puzzle Bear (as they call it, still exactly the same) for £1.99 BARGAIN!!
As my kids would be turning one and two just after that christmas, i thought that this would be quite suitable for them. Thinking that it was not much different from their wooden lift out puzzle trays that they already had already mastered and also something a bit more fun and exciting.
But I was slighty wrong ............................. :O)
After receiving the item, i was slighty shocked with the size of it.
Looking back in the mag, it looked a lot bigger and didnt say...

create your own teddy
Review of Teddy In A box by
yabbis21
Advantages: great fun for pre school children
Disadvantages: none
...I bought this for my youngest son when he was two years old because he liked puzzles but was too young to do a actual jigsaw.
The teddy jigsaw comes in a small wooden box with a small lid that slides on the top of the box.
On top of the lid there is a teddy bear shape where you can place each jigsaw piece.
The jigsaw pieces are made out of wood so they dont break that easy when children chew on the pieces and if it is like my son then believe me they will chew on them.
There are twelve jigsaw pieces in total which consist of four teddy bear heads, four bodies and four legs and the best part is it does not matter which head you put to which body as all the pieces are the same shape and size so it is really easy for the child to create the teddy.
These jigsaws are really great fun for toddlers as well as educational because...

Edward Scissorhands
Review of Edward Scissorhands - Original Soundtrack by
berlioz
Advantages: Elfman's most magical creation and a true masterpiece
Disadvantages: The Tom Jones song at the end
...By the turn of the 1990s, Tim Burton had already sealed his credentials as an imaginative and quirky director with films like Pee-Wee's Big Adventure, Beetlejuice and Batman. Therefore it was only to be expected that his next film would be equally quirky and dark, and that it certainly was. Starring Johnny Depp along with Winona Ryder, Dianne Wiest, and Anthony Michael Hall, with Vincent Price as "The Inventor," Edward Scissorhands is a fairy-tale like fantasy about a strange artificial man with scissors for hands. From his lofty castle on top of a hill, he is whisked away by a cosmetic's saleswoman straight into the suburbs where he is greeted with interest and wonder. It won't be long however when people start turning against him due to his naïve trust in others and his sharp scissorhands that cause a few unintentional moments...

Edward the Very Useful Engine
Review of Edward, the Very Useful Engine - W. Awdry by
sewbizzie
Advantages: Great for Thomas and Train Fans
Disadvantages: None
...Edward the very useful engine is a book based on the Thomas TV series.
The front cover of the book has a picture of Edward and Thomas and there is a purple banner above the picture with the title of the book in yellow lettering. The back cover of the book is also purple and has a yellow square with smaller pictures of a few other titles available in the collection.
This edition is in hard back.
THE STORY
The book starts by telling us a bit about some of the engines on the Island of Sodor. Gordon was good at pulling the Express, Percy was good at carrying the mail and Edward was good at being a back engine.
It tells us that when the engines were heavy Edward would couple up behind and help them push.
Edward is an old engine and some of the other engines thought he was unreliable. Gordon and Percy thought that he should...

Review of Edward Scissorhands DVD by
bilbob20
Advantages: Good plot, and some excellent visuals
Disadvantages: Some of the acting
