...Everybody knows that at some stage their baby is going to go through the teething stage, but it seems that not many people know when it happens, how it happens, the different stages of teething and how they can help...Pacing up and down the hallway all night with a screaming teething baby is not much fun! Now every baby is different and each baby will teeth at different stages although the average for a first tooth is around 7 months, you may notice a white 'lump' under the gum, or perhaps the gum is redder or slightly swollen - but not every baby gets this tale tale sign of teething. Now the good news (sarcastic laugh) there are only 20 primary teeth (first teeth) to break through the gums, don’t panic your not going to have an 8 month baby with a full set of choppers on average your child will have all their teeth around 3 years... ...Aquafresh big teeth Teeth cleaning is something thankfully Little Miss does without any fuss, and now that she has moved on from the fruit flavoured tooth pastes onto the more grown up stuff, it's actually easier to find toothpastes she will accept. With the inevitable onset of gaps caused by the falling out of her milk teeth, I was convinced that she should have a special type of toothpaste. A quick word with the dentist assured me that I was correct, and that this is the time children need lots of fluoride. It wasn't hard to find a toothpaste which offered more fluoride, and this was our happy purchase. ~~Product and Packaging~~ Once inside the box, we get to the toothpaste which is in a normal toothpaste tube only a bit smaller- presumably for those small hands. ...I first came across MacCleans Milk Teeth toothpaste immediately after my son was born in 2002. There was a trial size tube in the Bounty pack that you receive at the hospital. I held onto this dear little tube (cute like a baby!) until my son's first tooth came through at six months old. Whoopee, an exciting moment... I could crack open the toothpaste. ( He is 3 now, so teeth cleaning isn't quite so exciting for me as it used to be!) Advantages: A clever idea for children.

...The product I want to review is "Aquafresh big teeth mouthwash", the reason for this is my daughter Kaitlin. My daughter has up until this moment, lost four of her baby teeth, so I am trying to encourage her to look after her new teeth. She is very reluctant to brush her newly emerging teeth, as she says her gums are a little sore as the new teeth come through, it was actually her suggestion to purchase mouthwash, admittedly only because her best friends mum allows her children to us it, I was a little more apprehensive. I wanted a mild tasting mouthwash, preferably aimed at children as a product she could start her oral hygiene programme with. Joe used to have bad times with his teeth, bless him, and as a mother you feel you need to do all you can to help them. Advantages: Peace and quiet, natural and a good alternative.

...We bought "Boots Teething Granules" just as Lauretta started teething. She is certainly much more into her teething process now although she has not cut any of her teeth yet. We have found that sometimes they are not strong enough. Lauretta has been screaming in pain and the pain has been really bad, but we have only found that calpol or nurofen has worked for her. The "Boots Teething Granules" work for Lauretta when her teething is not too painful. The idea that you put them in the babies mouth and they dissolve is really quick and simple. They could do with staying in the babies mouth longer to make a difference. We have used them at times and they work for a bit and usually help her to go to sleep. ...Bonjela Teething Gel There is nothing worse than trying to calm and comfort a child who is in pain. Teething pain can be terrible for tiny babies to endure and as a parent you want to be able to stop the pain for them so that they can have a comfortable night's sleep. My little girl has just, as nearly 4 months, started to become bothered by her teeth coming in and although nothing is showing yet, we know by her dribbling, her flushed cheeks and her sharp, pained cries that they are definately on their way. I bought this in Scotland, on our recent trip to see the Grandparents, and was delighted to see it can be used from 2 months. I have always used Bonjela myself for mouth ulcers and gum pain when my wisdom teeth have been coming in, so I knew this children's version would very likely be as effective for teething problems. ...[WITH-TEETH] Nine Inch Nails Here we go another album waited to get me hands on, picked it up off eBay as normal and paid out £8 for it New. Nine Inch Nails is another band I faithfully follow and I bought [WITH-TEETH] without any hesitation and I was not disappointed Starts off slow with "All The Love In The World" which is a nice mellow offering but the old familiar feeling of angst anger whatever you want to call it smashes in here and there as you progress through the album. It kicks in with "You Know What You Are" up with the tempo and the wonderful in your face "Don't You F***** Know What You Are ?!?" Fast and Good with a reassuringly familiar NIN sound to it..."Everyday Is Exactly The Same" again a more singy-song but Loved it. Fantastic lyrics I can connect with this one. ...I was at the end of my tether. Connor (my 8month old baby son) was teething yet again and I had tried everything. He has this bad habit of cutting two teeth at the same time! And boy does this mean trouble. Until, that it I discovered Boots Teething Granules. The work instantly and this means that not only is Connor happier, but so am I and I can get a good nights uninterrupted sleep (at last). Boots Teething granules are easy to use and come in handy single dose packets, because of this they are more hygienic and can be easily carried around in your bag if needed. There are some pit falls though, they can be tricky at first to actually get them into your baby’s mouth if they are upset and crying, but if you are not confident to start with, you can always just pop the contents on to a spoon. ...I have been using this for the last month with my baby daughter, as she now has her first two teeth. I was told to expect a bad reaction to brushing, however she has seemed to quite enjoy it and will even try to do it herself if you give her the brush! I have used this particular toothpaste, as I had a free sample in my bounty bag when I gave birth. It has been brilliant, it has a fresh flavour and cleans teeth nicely, without being overpowering. Erin loves the taste, and I honestly feel this has had a positive effect on her and the way she has reacted to cleaning her teeth. I have not so far found any disadvantages to this particular product, as it is reasonably priced.
