The Competition is Toast
Review of Tefal 5328.16 by
molelover
Advantages: four slice, defrost and reheat settings
Disadvantages: crumbs collect under levers, positioning of crumb trays
...Tefal are almost synonymous with non-stick pans, in the same way that hoover stopped being a brand name and became the machine itself. I didn't know that Tefal also make other things, including toasters. Mine was a gift, and has proved to be a valuable addition to my kitchen, and not just nice and shiny.
Aren't all toasters pretty much the same? Well, I used to think so and I wouldn't have splashed out on a deluxe one. It's only since using this one that I have realised it has plenty of advantages over a regular toaster.
It's a four slot toaster, but the four slots are in two lots of two - meaning you can cook yourself two slices to have now, and two to have in five minutes (did I mention I like toast?). Beats having to wait for two to toast before putting another two in, or having four ready all at once and the second two getting...

Reliable Tefal
Review of Tefal Integral Iron by
backstreetwoman
Advantages: Reliability of Tefal, top of the range cookware
Disadvantages: None
...I have become a bit of a Tefal lover over the past couple of years, mainly because of the reliability of course, but also for the look. Yes, I know, a typical 'girlie' thing!
Amongst my many Tefal products is my set of Integral Saucepans bought for me by my daughter. After I constantly moaned about my previous set of pans that had seen better days, she very sweetly bought them for me from QVC who often have Tefal hours presented by the lovely Annette Baker-Malpas.
The Integral Saucepans are the top of the range of Tefal pans and quite simply, the best. As well as the well-known non-stick interior favoured by Tefal, the Integral saucepans, which come in a very attractive slate grey colour - ideally suited for most kitchen colour schemes - they have toughened glass lids, which won't shatter easily, and have steam vents which can...

This Tefal Could Be Lethal
Review of Tefal Delfina Jug Kettle by
mickeydumville
Advantages: Stylish Looks & Cord Storage In Base
Disadvantages: Care Needed When Pouring Boiling Water
...on paper they did! The cheapest model on the shelf was £24.99 and I wasn't having that. Sticking to my original price and my spirits down I returned to the car. I couldn't go all night without a brew, besides my free Yorkshire tea bags had arrived and being new to ciao I'd pencilled them in as my second review.
Tesco are the next nearest supermarket so off I went. The only item in my price range was the Tefal Delphina cordless kettle priced at £14.99. Decision time, did I waste more petrol and travel a fair distance to Asda, or did I buy the Tefal which after all was in the price range I had set myself, even if it was only by a penny? You've guessed it, as I'm reviewing the kettle I bought it.

Tefal Steam Cuisine Steamer
Review of Tefal Steam Cuisine 1000 Turbo Diffusion Steamer by
Martinscholes
Advantages: Great idea saves time
Disadvantages: None
...Well, it had to happen, I suppose. All good things must come to a end, as they say. Our faithful steamer gave up the ghost after nearly eight years of Stirling steaming service.
Time, we realised, to buy a new one. We decided to make our purchase of a new steamer at the BBC Good Food Show. After circling round and round the stands and displays several times ("too small, too big, doesn't look quite good enough, no WAY" are we paying that much!") we discovered the Tefal stand.
We both fell in love with the Tefal Steam Cuisine Steamer. My comment was: "My god, it looks like something out of Star Trek voyager!" For yes, indeed, the Tefal Steam Cuisine steam cooker does look incredibly funky and very, very modern. It also has, for the amount of food that it can cook, a relatively small footprint. And this is, in the tiny and pokey...

Quick cuppa with the Tefal QuickCup
Review of Tefal CCQH2 Quick CUP by
dbarcl10
Advantages: Warm water in 3 secs, energy saving
Disadvantages: Doesn't boil water
...The Tefal Quick Cup is a type of kettle, but instead of boiling a whole kettle of water to make a single cup of tea, the Quick Cup heats only the amount of water required, therefore saving energy. Tefal claims that a cup of hot water takes only 3 seconds and I was sceptical at first, but its true.
The machine itself is mainly black with a stainless steel control panel on top, and has 2300w of power. The machine is made from high quality plastic, so is easily cleaned with a wet cloth. The water tank holds 1.5 litres of water, and has space for a Claris water filter if required (one comes in the box).
One touch of the red button on the top of the machine provides a steady flow of hot water, enough to fill an average sized mug. If you want less, just press the red button again. For more, either press the red button once again...

Tefal gv8150 pro express turbo, the best tefal yet
Review of Tefal GV 8150 by
cat1510
Advantages: Continuous steam, 2 minutes heat up, great steam output and great finish
Disadvantages: cleaning required on a regular basis
...I run a small ironing business and I have used many tefal irons in my time. I can honestly say that the GV8150 is the best yet. It give a great finish to clothes in half the time and is ideal for large or small loads. The steam output is great for all fabrics and the turbo boost of steam really helps with stubborn creases.
Another advantage is that it has continuous steam so you can carry on ironing even if you run out of water. This has come a long way from the lesser steam generators when you had to wait for the steam to settle before opening it to refill it. This was time consuming and quite dangerous for the ones who tried to speed the process up(a few minor scalds on my hands on occassions)
It also heats up in about two minutes so can be used for a couple of shirts without having to wait forever. It is durable, as so...

Tefal Protect
Review of Tefal GV 9150 Protect Turbo by
drow22
Advantages: Reduced ironing time
Disadvantages: Very Expensive
...Tefal GV 9150 Protect Turbo
Out of all the household tasks ironing is the one I hate and the one I am useless at. So when my iron died a death a couple of months ago I thought I would invest in a steam generator iron. Whilst they are expensive they all claimed to cut your ironing time down by half, which sounded good to me. I opted for the Tefal Protect Turbo as I liked the idea that you could cover it with a hood and put it away still hot, without fear of scorching anything. And also with a small child in the house I also liked the protect function. Having said that I always wait to iron until he is in bed to avoid accidents.
.
Ok so what's the iron Tefal Protect like?
Well there is no picture on Ciao so I will try and describe the iron too you. All steam generator irons are much bulkier than your standard iron...

Tefal FV4180 ( Tefal Ultraglide Diffusion 80)
Review of Tefal FV4180 by
helpu121
Advantages: Well constructed, tap water safe, self cleaning function, Anti calcium filter
Disadvantages: slightly heavy
...You may recognise this model as the Tefal Ultraglide Diffusion 80. As we have no picture at present, the iron is constructed of white plastic with contrasting jade green transluscent water tank, filler and anti calcification valve. (quite an eyecatcher!)
The soleplate appears to be a cross between coated metal and ceramic.
The iron has all the usual function and controls including thermostat and associated indicator light, for selecting various heat settings. There is an additional "shot of steam" button for removing those stubborn wrinkles and the amount of steam produced by the normal ironing process can also be adjusted to suit conditions. The iron also has a spray button to moisten linen prior to ironing. The water filler tank is transluscent jade green with a clearly visible max fill level. The iron is suitable for tapwater use...

Tefal Elegance Automatic Cordless Kettle
Review of Tefal 6920511 ELEG by
colinmilne
Advantages: Stainless Steel Kettle for Bargain Price
Disadvantages: Metal Body can burn!
...Well my classic Russell Hobbs K2 kettle finally bit the dust and I was forced to go looking for a replacement. I spotted this Tefal in the Big W on special offer at £19.99 (May 2004) and immediately thought it a bargain.
It's a jug type design with the main vessel in polished stainless steel with the base, spout and handle in a durable black matt plastic. The finish on the whole product is excellent with no rough edges either on the metal or plastic mouldings. The handle feels lovely and the whole kettle is well balanced.
The plastic lid click locks on a quarter turn and this takes a little getting used to. It's designed to keep the lid in place while pouring. The lid also incorporates a fine plastic mesh filter just on the inside of the pourer. The maximum fill level is indicated by a small plastic flag on the inside. It can...
