Deep-fried Chicken tonight!!
Review of Tefal 3621615 PRI by
fun2night4us
Advantages: Do not have to keep draining oil after each use
Disadvantages: Takes up alot of countertop space
...The Tefal Prissima has been n a life saver for my daily life. Since I do not work and my fiance does, it is sort of a nonspkoken agreement that I would do most of the cooking until I am able to get a job. One of the most important parts of the kitchen for me is to have something to deepfry in. That along with a George Foreman grill. Well since we had nothing to deep fry in I felt out of place, almost did not know how to cook some things without it. Well off I went to Argos, Marks and Spencers and all the other home improvement stores in the area.
After about 2 days of shopping around and comparing the quality and price of each of the deep fryers that I found within my price range I decided upon the Tefal Prissima.
Before I go on about this particular Deep Fryer let me give a little bit of Tefals details. This information...

Chish and Fips
Review of Tefal Smart Clean Fat Friar by
CareBear
Advantages: Good capacity, simple to use
Disadvantages: see bottom of opinion
...My husband is truly into romantic present buying! Obviously from the same training school as Les Battersby (Coronation Street), he came up with the idea of getting me a deep fat fryer as a present. Now, I should point out that I was not wholly averse to this idea as I had been craving home cooked chips ever since I left my parents house; Oven chips are just not the same! However, anyone who knows me, which includes regular readers of my opinions, will know that I do not allow any household item to be bought before rigorous market research has been undertaken and price checks carried out (yes even for a present!).
So it came to pass that we were to survey the deep fat fryer market – and what a wonderful time we had! You really wouldn’t think that there was too much to it but read on and find out why the Tefal Smart Clean...

Beauty is Skin Deep, Fat Friar
Review of Tefal Smart Clean Fat Friar by
Mojoly
Advantages: It's a handsome beast
Disadvantages: It's a pain in the neck
...Earlier this year I ditched my Breville Gourmet Deep Fryer and purchased a Tefal Smart Clean. I hadn’t fallen out with the Breville; it still cooked excellent chips which was its only aim in the kitchen. But, despite being easy to clean, it had started to look jaded and I fancied a change. So, off I tripped to Curry’s and I was smitten by the handsome looks of the Tefal Smart Clean, so I bought it.
At a cost of £59.95 I got a ‘stylish stainless steel fryer’ (and very handsome it is too).
Its vital statistics are:
- Large viewing window (I’m not impressed, I open the lid to look anyway)
- One shot lid opening (Don’t they all do that?)
- External basket lowering and locking (OK, that’s a safety feature)
- Large wide self-draining frying basket (more on that later)
- Carrying handles (Why? Do I need a portable fryer? Full of (possibly...

Anyone want some chips...?
Review of Tefal FA700415 Family Oleoclean Fryer by
shaheena
Advantages: Very easy to clean
Disadvantages: temperatures go abit funny....?
...The Tefal FA700415 Family Oleoclean Fryer is really such a great product, I have one at home, and I received it as a wedding present by one of my relatives. When I found out it was a deep fat fryer, I was thinking they must be having a laugh, did they want me to become fat or something but actually the fryer wasn’t so bad.
Well what I can say about the deep fat fryer from my first experiences after using it to deep fry my frozen chips and fish fingers which I was making for my sons tea. I found that it’s quite good; the chips got done quite quickly, depending on what temperature you set it at. I set it at the highest one but before I could put the chips in I had to wait a while for the oil to heat up and that was the bad thing about it becomes I’m quite an inpatient person. I kept checking if the oil was hot by putting a piece...

Kenwood come clean
Review of Kenwood DF650 Total Clean Coolwall by
sadcrab
Advantages: Easy to clean
Disadvantages: None
...This is my third deep fat fryer the first being a Tefal that lasted 11 years, the second a Kenwood DF650 which lasted 14 months and finally another Kenwood DF 650 which arrived today with the compliments of Kenwood!
The first kenwood was a vast improvement on the Tefal in the fact that the whole thing could be cleaned in the dishwasher (all except the control unit that is removed to dismantle the fryer).
Last week the fryer stopped working so a little annoyed to start with I rang Kenwood to see if it could be repaired, no problem send it back to us they said and we will repair it, how much I asked, oh that will be free if it's a manuafacuring fault if it isn't we'll ring and let you know how much the repair will be and by the way we will arrange for it to be picked up by courier free of charge. On Saturday I got a letter from Kenwood...

Wouldn't have one again
Review of Tefal Stylea Coolwall Deep Fryer by
anjib
Advantages: food tastes nice
Disadvantages: fry too much, messy to clean and empty, have to get filters
...We were bought a deep fat fryer as a wedding present. It was a nice size, could fit enough chips in for 2 average persons and kept true to it's name of "Coolwall" and the outside never got hot.
The machine is easy to use. You switch it on, and when the light comes on it's ready to fry. It can't overheat as it has a built in thermostat.
It took about a litre of cooking oil to fill, and you could re-use it for several fryings. Emptying it was very messy, I usually ended up spilling some of the oil on the work surface.
You had to place 2 charcoal filters in the lid which were made of a felt material. We had to travel to a specialist shop over the other side of the city to pick these up. They came in pack's of 6 and while they were not particularly expensive, it was annoying.
As with I presume the majority of fryers, they are hard...

No Complaints
Review of Tefal Smart Clean Fat Friar by
Cecilia
Advantages: Saves on takeaways and cooks the thin chips just like Mc Donalds.
Disadvantages: Filter is not washable and needs to be changed
...After reading all of the reviews on deep fat fryers, I finally settled for this one. This is not the coolwall fryer but has metal sides.
My family always want to buy chips from the takeaways and I think investing in one of these can certainly reduce the costs in the long run. I have bought the larger capacity size of 1.25 kgs.
The one disadvantage of deep fat fryers is the amount of oil you go through as you have to change it frequently. This is fine if you do not use it often unfortunately I do make chips for my 4 year old a few lunchtimes a week and though this is just a handful of chips you are still using the oil so it is better for larger meals. I am trying a specially treated oil that apparently lasts longer.
It makes french fries just like Mc Donalds and the chips come out just as well.
So far I have found it to be a very good...

Tefal Actifry Yummy Chips !!
Review of Tefal FZ 7000 Actifry by
saraearle
Advantages: doesn't smell & very healthy
Disadvantages: chips take a long time too cook
...Bought one of these 2 days ago From COSTCO and the chips taste great .. I think it will take a bit of getting used to ..as will the amount of potatoes needed they seem to shrink alot more than when fryed ??
VERY easy to use just take about 40mins to cook
very easy to clean and dishwasher safe ,
chips ARE easy to take out you just lift the base out ( it is just like a deep frying pan ) then you can tip them on to the plate / bowl etc.
a big plus side of it is your house doesn't stink like a normal fryer makes it which was what we hated most,
I tried to cook some scampi but it just mushed that up so don't recomend trying that will be trying out some of the recipes now and can't wait
Good bits..
Hardly any smell
healthy chips
bad bits ...
they take about 40mins to cook ,
potatoes seem to shrink alot more than when fryed,
It is quite...

Fry-tfully good
Review of Tefal 3163 Profry 1000 by
Quakerman
Advantages: Compact but with good capacity, easy to clean
Disadvantages: We shouldn't be eating fried foods should we??
...I was looking forward to a nice plate of chips. I went into the kitchen and turned on the deep fryer. You know what they look like - big round white things that take up half your kitchen counter. I went back a few minutes later and plunged my chips into the oil. Nothing happened. The oil was stone cold.
Now, had I thought to check to see if the fuse in the plug was all right, I would have solved the problem. Not that the plug had fused, mind you - the fuse was gone! My daughter had removed it because my son kept forgetting to turn the fryer off, and she was tired of the house smelling like day-old fish and chips.
But I didn't check the plug, I just assumed the machine had packed in, so off I went to buy a new one.
The TEFAL coolwall (also know as the Pro Fry) is what I came home with. This is a great appliance. For one thing, its...
