An iron is an iron is an iron is it not
Review of Tefal 2710 Turbo PRO 400 by
Newfloridian
Advantages: A stylish performer - makes ironing a breeze
Disadvantages: So many choices to make
...that was too heavy in use. It should be reasonably aesthetically pleasing to have around the house. On the other hand a non-stick, non-scratch base plate seemed a good idea as did some form of limescale prevention. Cordless operation would have been a bonus.
After much deliberation, our chosen model was an upper range Tefal – the Turbo Pro 400 (also curiously and confusingly called model 2710). We chose to overlook where it was made (!*) but it is coloured a reasonably attractive shade of pale green (eau de nil) and white with a grey and white striped ceramic base plate. This is perforated by two rows of steam holes.
The water tank is filled from an aperture in the handle. This is shielded by a sliding cover for safety purposes. A measuring cup is provided for this. The upper body of the iron is translucent and there is a convenient...

Tefal Pro Express Turbo Steam Generator Iron.
Review of Tefal 4294114 PRO Express Turbo by
choochoochick
Advantages: Laughs in the face of ironing!
Disadvantages: Pricy, but worth it.
...I have just tried out my brand new steam generator iron, and am so impressed that I really must reccommend this product!
I did wonder about spending such a lot on an iron (I paid 200!), but I am just starting a little ironing business from home so thought I could justify the expense.
Firstly the features. 150g per minute continuous steam, 170g turbo steam shot. This might not mean anything to you as it didn't to me, so let me explain.
A normal iron makes a little bit of steam, but seems to stop and start. This beast of an iron makes steam continuously (which is released when you press and hold the steam button), and it is generated with such power as to turn the iron into an hovercraft!! It can also be used as a vertical steamer for tricky garments, meaning you leave them hung up and blast with steam.
The flex has...

MAN, IVE GOT MY SELF A PRO !!
Review of Tefal 4294114 PRO Express Turbo by
micheledog
Advantages: Leaves more time for more important things
Disadvantages: you dont want to share it.
...To begin
I have to make one thing very, very clear !!
Probably like most ciao members,
I HATE IRONING !!!!!!
I have always tried to buy the best iron I could afford, always having a feeling you get what you pay for. I've bought a few I can tell you.
And I haven't always got what I've paid for, I can assure you,
Because of my hate for ironing, I am prepared to pay any amount for to make it easier and less time consuming,
(I'm hoping Tomclaire will find me a robot) sorry Tom x x
Back to my review
I sat browsing through my kays catalogue, when I came across it,
MY TEFAL PRO TURBO STEAM GENERATOR.
You see my love for irons, are like a man and his love for cars.
I sat and dreamed about what life would be like with a steam generator.
I was trying to warrant spending £224.00 on a new iron.
Feeling guilty, I tried...

HATE Ironing...You will LOVE This
Review of Tefal Steam Station Iron by
nipples
Advantages: effortless and efficient ironing, removes stubborn creases with minimum pressure, irons all fabrics
Disadvantages: none - except maybe the price
...of years ago. Imagine my delight then, when I discovered that the iron manufacturers had finally cottoned on and had started to produce something similar for the domestic market.
The TEFAL PRO 2500, is one of a new range of steam generating irons. To all intents and purposes it looks like a regular iron . However that is where the story begins. Attached to the iron by a hose is a water container which is heated, and generates high pressure steam. Depending on the size and power of the heater the amount of steam produced varies.
They never clog up. You can steam any fabric from denim to the most delicate silks. And the larger water tanks mean that you can iron for longer without having to refill. They simply glide through the most stubborn creases leaving everything looking as if they had just been bought. Not only that, but you can iron...

Sensual Ironing
Review of Tefal Integral Iron by
assethound
Advantages: Glides smoothly, can iron delicates using steam, good performance on a wide range of fabrics
Disadvantages: Could be too expensive for some
...Two years ago I bought a Tefal Integral 2045 all fabrics steam iron. With this purchase my life moved several miles closer to the leafy but stifling suburbs of Stepford.
Here is the story of the iron...
Buying a new iron is not exactly the highlight of my life - yet, but it is a necessary evil. The iron I had been using for the last few years looked me in the face once too often yesterday, sneering past its frayed and grubby cord, past the numerous sticky repairs made with electricians tape along its all too short 2 metre length. I turned it over and examined the sole plate, covered in scratches and blackened gunk, melted off the surface of clothes subjected to its searing and all too unpredictable heat. It had to go - and fast.
Off we went to Curry’s, the journey there teaching me a lot about the power of TV advertising...

Turbo Iron
Review of Tefal 2710 Turbo PRO 400 by
jules.34
Advantages: Gets the clothes ironed - plenty of steam
Disadvantages: Leaks water
...I needed a new iron and as my last one had been a cheap one and hadn't lasted, I wanted to spend a bit more on this one so that it would last. I have a 3 year old so I am always ironing - the last thing I want now is to keep replacing my iron.
I went into Comet and spent a while looking at different types of irons. I wanted a steam one as they're quicker and better at getting the clothes ironed.
I settled on the Tefal 2710 Turbo PRO 400, and at almost £50, it wasn't cheap, but I figured it would be a good investment as it would last the test of time and save me buying a lot of cheap ones.
There is a self-cleaning function on this iron too, and while it does what it says, I still find that I have to take a cloth to it myself every now and again.
So far, it has lasted and been a durable iron. It steams well and gets...

LADIES...BETTER THAN A MULTIPLE ORGASM
Review of Tefal Ultraglide Pro Express Generator Iron by
flashpointz
Advantages: smooth, effortless ironing in a fraction of the time
Disadvantages: high price - but worth every penny
...store and see all the items looking immaculate. Yet, after you get them home, wear them, wash them and iron them, they just never look quite as great as back when they were hanging in the shop. What is the secret?
My wife used to be Manager of a Ladies clothes outlet and told me that a great deal of the time they arrive in store looking no better than your wash at home, full of creases from being folded and packed in bags. But, to get those awful creases out, the stores use a high pressure steamer, that looks a little like a vacuum cleaner. Not something that has been generally available to the consumer until pretty recently.
Then came the arrival of the ‘Steam Generating Iron’ – not to be confused with an iron just giving you a ‘shot of steam’ . The TEFAL PRO EXPRESS 2500, is one such product. To all intents and purposes it looks like...

This steam iron is a real blast!
Review of Tefal 2910 Express by
GrimTweaker
Advantages: Makes ironing easy, ergonomic design, lots of available steam
Disadvantages: Heavy, and needs a special ironing board for maximum effectiveness.
...I'll come clean. I never usually do much ironing. Mrs Tweaker takes care of that. (I do the cooking as payback) However, I accidentally broke her last Tefal steam iron by trying to use de-scaler in it (You're not supposed to do this) so I was duly dispatched to buy a new one.
That's when I spotted the Tefal "Pro-Express".
For starters, it's more ergonomically designed than its predecessor. It looks good. The iron now rests on its base at an angle, easier to handle like this and slightly harder to accidentally knock off it's perch.
The other advantage is the new way of filling the steam reservoir. In the old model, you had to unscrew a rather chunky valve-like bung, and pour water inside. It was hard to see the water level, and difficult to know when you had run out. In the Pro express, it's easy. There's a detachable reservoir...

Dashing away with the smoothing....Steam Station
Review of Tefal Ultraglide Pro Express Generator Iron by
helencbradshaw
Advantages: Gets the job done much quicker
Disadvantages: It's still ironing!
...town that particular afternoon and the only instruction I gave was that he should get one of those new fangled irons, with the big water tank beneath.
He returned with the Tefal model 2500 Pro Express and paid a total of £89.95 for it, from Comet, I believe. We have owned the little beastie for five or six weeks now, and I have to say it is worth the additional expense over a standard iron anyday.
The iron has a one litre tank, which the iron can rest upon, horizontally. This capacity means you can get through piles and piles of ironing without having to top it up. Of course I haven’t tested this feature, as I iron as and when I have to, which is as infrequently as possible. It is recommended that the tank is rinsed through after every ten uses.
The iron is extremely powerful. I used it to iron some bedding in an emergency...

Tefal gv8150 pro express turbo, the best tefal yet
Review of Tefal GV 8150 by
cat1510
Advantages: Continuous steam, 2 minutes heat up, great steam output and great finish
Disadvantages: cleaning required on a regular basis
...I run a small ironing business and I have used many tefal irons in my time. I can honestly say that the GV8150 is the best yet. It give a great finish to clothes in half the time and is ideal for large or small loads. The steam output is great for all fabrics and the turbo boost of steam really helps with stubborn creases.
Another advantage is that it has continuous steam so you can carry on ironing even if you run out of water. This has come a long way from the lesser steam generators when you had to wait for the steam to settle before opening it to refill it. This was time consuming and quite dangerous for the ones who tried to speed the process up(a few minor scalds on my hands on occassions)
It also heats up in about two minutes so can be used for a couple of shirts without having to wait forever. It is durable, as so...
