Set Phasers To EVIL Prog Rock
Review of Danelectro DJ6 Pepperoni Phaser Pedal by
Champ666
Advantages: ---------------------------
Disadvantages: ---------------------------
...For a number of years Danelectro have been making these rather stylish looking easy to use retro pedals. I have always been rather taken by their looks, and as I have stated in previous reviews guitars sound better with effects pedals and you can never have too many, which is why when I saw this little baby in Dawson’s Music in Piccadilly Gardens, Manchester going for £15 I decided why not get this one too.
So what is a Phaser then? Well below is some info I managed to gleam of the internet:-
“Phasers use an internal low frequency oscillator to automatically move notches in the frequency response up and down the frequency spectrum. An important difference between phasing and flanging is that phasers space these notches evenly across the frequency spectrum, while the notches in flanging and chorus are harmonically (musically...

Slight Improvement on 8400 Phaser
Review of Xerox Phaser 8560DN by
blondgem
Advantages: does duplex
Disadvantages: not quick enough, now behind with the times
...As a have stated in my previous review, I have three colour printers at work, one super duper one, a second being relatively good and my back up plan which was my last review.
The Xerox Phaser 8560 I have had for two years and decided to keep when I recently upgraded to my super duper printer that is my pride and joy when I am in creative mode at work. The Xerox Phaser 8560 replaced the 8400 a couple of years ago and we saw several improvements to the machine as you normally do, better going forwards than backwards.
The Phaser 8560 is a great printer and again takes crayon as opposed to ink that give it that excellent finish when producing reletively professional documents.
The sytling of the machine is very similar to that of the 8400, it is exactly the same size, and has the same control panel on the top of it which is good...

Ladies and gentlemen its time to trip out
Review of Boss Super Phaser PH-2 by
crustypaul
Advantages: Good build quality, good range of sounds fairly cheap
Disadvantages: No controls for centre frequency of waveshape
...After experiencing a drop in popularity throughout the 80's the phaser effect is now going through a sort of resurgence with the advent of dance music and stoner rock. In trance music the phaser is used mainly to give a kind of shifting filter sound to big hoovery noises and chords where as it is the massive backing power chords of stoner rock that are treated in order to turn your head inside out.
The Boss PH-2 Super Phaser has four controls on the case for rate, depth, resonance and mode. The rate knob controls the speed of the phasers sweep, in this case anywhere from 100ms all the way up to 14 seconds. At it's longest setting this pedal can almost make you want to vomit when the phasing spends too much time at the 'null point' where frequencies start to cancel each other out in a very strange manner. This can only be a good thing...

An all singing, all dancing printer
Review of Xerox Phaser 6110 by
sayitasitis
Advantages: cheap, reliable, good quality print outs, compact
Disadvantages: nothing springs to mind as being a disadvantage as such
...If you are looking to purchase a new printer may I be so bold to suggest that you stop your search now and look no further than the Xerox Phaser 6110? No you say, ok, why I don't I explain why you should listen.
I work from home, and have been using the Phaser 6110 now for 6 months to mainly print of bulk letter projects, colour charts and general pages from the internet. I would say that my printing is probably above average, sometimes printing over 500 pages a day. Since I have owned the printer, it has only needed one routine service and two replacement toner cartridges, so in its favour it has reliability.
This is not all though readers, the Phaser 6110 is both a black/white and colour printer combo that really doesn't take up much space when you consider the size of such gigantic machines at the HP Laserjet 4. It's actual...

Phasers to kill
Review of BBC2 - Star Trek by
MagicKitten
Advantages: Good for a laugh, kitsch and funny!
Disadvantages: Don't take it seriously, and don't knock it if you've not seen it!
...The original series of Star Trek is much better than the Next Generation. The spandex uniforms, with the gold frills aorund the sleeves to denote rank, the hairstyles, the polystyrene rocks on every planet Kirk beams down to, behind which beautiful, scantily-clad female aliens wait to let Kirk seduce them. Compared to Jean-Luc Picard's and Janeway's politically- correct, let's-be-nice-to-everyone attitude, Kirk's "phasers to kill! and get me the fittest bird!" philosophy is amazing. OK, yeah, the set was made out of egg-boxes and tin foil. And the plot is occaisionally a little thin, like the episode where Spock gets blinded by the light McCoy is trying to destroy an evil life-form with, and they run round for 30 minutes trying to save him. Then, with 5 minutes to go the script-writers must have realised Spock's a goodie, therefore he...

The best printer I have ever used.
Review of Xerox Phaser 8400DP by
robmarks
Advantages: Stunning print quality, fast, easy to use, takes varied stock
Disadvantages: Yet to find one!
...You may see that previously I had a Tally 8006 in my office. When I wrote the review for that I was considering upgrading. Well now I've done just that and it's one of the best decisions I've ever made.
After much consideration I purchased the Xerox Phaser 8400DP. The spec was what drew me to this particular printer. Duplex as standard, solid colour technology, ability to take card stock and fast print time. At around £1000 this printer might seem expense but in this case it's worth every penny.
After warm up, which is little slow, the printer is super fast, churning out copies (including colour) at an incredible speed. Despite this, the quality of the print is just stunning. This appears to be down to the solid colour technology that is used. Run glossy paper through the machine on full colour prints and the final product...

Good in its day!!
Review of Xerox Phaser 8400B by
blondgem
Advantages: quality prints
Disadvantages: bit slow now, lot less features than up to date models
...Within my position at work, it is extremely important that I have a decent printer and to be honest, I don't have one, I have three that I use for various print jobs that I may perform in-house.
The Xerox Phaser 8400 is what I call my back up plan, used occasionally, when I may have ran out on consumables for my other printers of if I want to get a job done quick, I may use them all at the same time.
All our printers are leased and unfortunately the Phaser 8400 is no longer available to purchase or lease as new anymore, however some companies do offer ex-demonstration machines and you may be able to acquire one of these this way. Since the 8400 was born, it has been upgraded and hs now been replaced by the 8560.
The 8400 however I feel during its day was an excellent machine and still continues to produce quality prints...

My New Pride & Joy at Work
Review of Xerox Phaser 7760GX by
blondgem
Advantages: great colour, fast, takes all weights and sizes of paper
Disadvantages: smells at the moment
...Last year was a good year for me at work, I didn't seem to have to ask for anything, it was all suggested by my boss, new lap top, new widescreen pc for when I was in the office and new colour printer even though the lease hadn't quite ran out on my old one. However there are always ulterior motives to everything, nice new lap top means I can work more from home, new wide screen PC means I can design more in house and nice new printer meant that I could print more of my designs in house as opposed to outsourcing it.
Having two colour printers in the office, both Xerox Phaser's but getting to the stage where they had had there day, I called Pete, my local printer expert to come down and have a chat with me about what options were available to me. His eyes probably lit up when I made that call, as when he tries to contact me, I'm either...

Spoil her and she'll look after you.
Review of Xerox Phaser 6125V/N by
netgekko
Advantages: Solid and Reliable
Disadvantages: Running costs
...The Xerox Phaser 6125vn comes from a long line of thoroughbreds, Xerox are experts at turning out solid printers and they even look good. The print quality is more than adequate and there print speed is ok too.
This printer is great for small offices, Estate Agents seem to like them and I can see why, they are reliable and ideal for printing house info with colour pictures of "nice fixer uppers".
There are a couple of drawbacks however, Xerox toner is not cheap so running costs can be a little on the high side, also getting this printer repaired once its out of warrantee can be frustrating, Xerox will repair but there prices go through the roof and getting parts is an expensive and torturous ordeal if you want to fit them yourself, I have to order bits from France and it can take up to 14 days.
Having said that The Xerox Phaser 6125vn...
