Aiwa HS-TX486 - Fantastic Walkman
Review of Aiwa HS-TX496 by  danwilkie

Advantages: Lots of great features, very durable, good price
Disadvantages: Disadvantages? Yeah right!

...NOTE ************ For background on Walkmans in general and why you should still use them today please see my opinion on “Aiwa Walkmans in General” with the title “Walkmania – Walkmans in General”. INTRODUCTION ********************** A few years ago I was looking for a new Walkman as my old one, a very outdated Sony model, had broken. So where do you begin when looking for a Walkman? Well, I personally decided to look in the Argos catalogue for a bargain Walkman made by a brand I could trust. I opted for the same manufacturer as my Hi-Fi, Aiwa, and this attractive little Aiwa HS-TX486 caught my eye at a very affordable price. PRICE ************* I forget what the price was back then, but now after some research I can tell you that this little gem can now be bought for just £20.00, which... Read review

Top 5 Reason to chose the Palm T/X
Review of Palm T|X by  eumatthe

Advantages: Speed, versatility, capability, and ease of use!
Disadvantages: Doesn't play well with Vista (then again what does?)

...5 Reasons I think the Palm T/X is a great find. I began my PDA journey with the Handspring Visor , outgrew it and moved on to Handspring Visor Deluxe; bought most of the springboard modules, fax/modem, camera, memory, keyboard, etc and finally sold it and turned to the (all in one) Sony Clie NR70V (which I subsequently over worked and burned out). Thus began my 2 year search for a better PDA. I don't know why it took me so long to come back to the originator of the PDA, but I choose the Palm T/X, for five reasons. #1. It's a Palm! One of the ONLY businesses that's still in the business of making and supporting PDA's. I have nothing against the Blackberry, Treo, I-Phone or others, but it's comforting to know that the product I bought is backed by the same business that started it. (what happened to Handspring, the Sony Clie' line... Read review

muvo tx
Review of Creative MuVo TX 256MB 256 MB by  danny_westham

Advantages: Size, price, quality of sound
Disadvantages: Space, its big but it wont take your whole harddrive.., headphones arent amazing

...apart, and I really wasnt impressed with the sound quality I was getting through the mp3 player. I asked for refund, and then went back to my first instincts and bought the muvo tx 256 mb. Immedialty I was impressed with the build quality. It came with a belt clip headphones ( that I would reccomend you get a new decent pair, as they are realitvely poor, but that is not a major problem) and a change of cover, aswell as the software to install. Installation on that subject was very easy and simple, as it is usb, you can start using it straight away in XP without installing the drivers, it just works as a removeable drive. The player itself is very stylish, and tiny, it has a lcd screen that tells you which song is playing which is very hand. This screen is lit, so you can even see it in the dark ! Once the music files have been put... Read review

Palm TX - Launched 2005 and still the top PDA
Review of Palm TX by  jmarko

Advantages: Stable, excellent OS; masses of free software available; still the top dog.
Disadvantages: None.

...The Palm TX has been around for a while now and so you may find it a little odd that I'm writing a review of it. More odd is the fact that the TX is still sold new, years after it first came out. The reason? As a PDA, it has yet to be surpassed. Not only is it extremely easy to use and connects to open wifi hotspots with ease, it also has a massive collection of free software available online - from games to productivity, from connectivity to health and wellbeing. It comes bundled with an excellent browser (Blazer) but you can also run Opera and some other browsers on it too. The email software is also more than adequate. It is also a top multimedia player and when used in conjunction with the right software, can happily display streaming tv and, if you connect it up to a stereo, makes a handy internet radio. If you... Read review

T/X a disappointment
Review of Palm T|X by  JayBishop

Advantages: Modernized for communications
Disadvantages: Steps backward for user-friendliness

...A step backward from the Tungsten T, my previous palm. The T/X has not moved forward, design-wise. And cut some useful features. No charge-indicator LED. Screen less responsive. It seems like its forever resetting itself, losing a number of settings along the way. Bottom of screen permanent virtual buttons are not user-configurable! BAD! This is not a happy camper! And this: now extra $ for cradle, which is badly designed, with insufficient place for wires in the back and a useles, wasteful full-time glow. T/X has no "back" button, like on Sony palms, that was a brilliant function for navigation. Tungsten spring-loaded stylus was lightning fast to deploy, even in hardshell case. Latter case also allowed headphones. Now T/X has done away with both possibilities. Awkward to use. And apparently a slower processor than in its immediate... Read review

Creative MuVo TX FM
Review of Creative MuVo TX FM 128 MB by  amazoco

Advantages: Sound quality, price!
Disadvantages: The radio!

...For the past few years, my sony radio-cassette walkman has done me a great service. But when the headphones broke a few months ago, I decided to go online and buy some new ones. After browsing, I soon realised that the average cost of headphones would probably be better spent on a brand new portable music player. The headphones come free, and the retro look of my walkman, although cool, was getting a bit tired. What struck me about the CREATIVE MUVO TX FM most, was how much value for money you get for the relatively cheap £60 price. Not only that, but the excellent reviews it was getting. So I bought it, and here is my very favourable review on the player! I'll start with the price. For a 256 Mb player, this is extremely good value for money. I've noticed that the majority of similarly sized mp3 players are pushing towards £120... Read review

Onkyo TX-SR 606 receiver
Review of Onkyo TX-SR606 by  ftobaby

Advantages: Cheap price, 4 HDMI inputs, and HD audio compliant.
Disadvantages: Not a lot!

...Hi ! The new onkyo TX-SR 606 is the best surround amp on the market for under £500 period. We borrowed one for a few weeks whilst our onkyo TX-SR 875 was being repaired. We bought our 875 last year for £999.99 and this new buget model is about 95% of the performance of the 875. It has 4 HDMI inputs and is HD audio and video compliant. It is easy to set up, and sounds fantastic with movies. We have used the HD video scaler and normal DVDs look vastly improved. The unit we borrowd was in black (it is available in silver also) and looked substantial and stylish. Regarding the sound it steers audio around the room fantastically and never seems to be trying too hard or sounding harsh at higher levels. Overall a brilliant buy.... Read review

PALM TX users Review -
Review of Palm TX by  axeman1

Advantages: Easy to use, fast, and capable
Disadvantages: No Cradle

...I have worked the TX in a busy environment. utilising the WIFI, bluetooth and email, sms and mp3 ona daily basis. I must say it is very reliable, fast and easy to use. It is a great all round personal management tool. Slip a 1gig expansion card in it and you have plenty of room for mp3s, pdf docs, word, excel files and ebooks. Battery life is good however extensive use of wifi does drain it somewhat quickly but i've never experienced full drain. The media section for videos and photos is high quality and the video playback is excellent but is slow to load if you have a very very large photo library on an expansion card. Its a shame it didn't come with a cradle (extra)... Read review

Disadvantages: Suitable only for easy access USB ports

...12345678.MP3) you can store up to 256 files in your player's root directory. Note that a folder is considered as one file If your files comply with the 8.3 file naming convention and have a mix of uppercase and lower case letters you can store up to 128 files in your player's root directory. If you are using a very long file name, the maximum number of files you can store in your player's root directory is dependant on the number of characters in the file name."
