Let me OneTel you about it
Review of OneTel by
Lgair
Advantages: Very cheap international phone rates
Disadvantages: There are none
...I make a lot of long distance, international phone calls. I mean a lot. I call the states several times a week. I also don't talk for just a short time, I talk like it is a free local call. Lots of catching up to do with family and friends you know. I even still call my favourite local shops in the states to order gifts, flowers, and restaurant gift vouchers. I needed a good long distance phone carrier. I've experimented with a couple, but none proved to be that cheap. Until I found OneTel!
OneTel is simple to use. Once you register your telephone number with them, they issue you a 4 digit code to dial before you enter the phone number that you want to ring. That's it! Easy as that! I never have problems accessing and rarely have problems with OneTel having busy circuits. I can talk as long as I want to my family...

The Big Sell On OneTel...
Review of OneTel by
Squiggles
Advantages: Cheaper international calls, fixed rate 1p per min internet access
Disadvantages: None
...promise to make the service available to you within 24 hours of registering. You can also register over the telephone if you prefer by leaving your details at the site which will prompt a customer service rep to call you back to set up your account, but you’ll miss out on the £2 calling credit if you register this way. Your welcome pack is then forwarded to you by post.
To take advantage of the reduced cost of calls, all you need to do is dial a four digit number (as advised by OneTel) in front of the main telephone number and this routes your calls through their system bypassing your own main telephony provider. Or you can order a free ‘Phone Pal’ which is an adapter you plug into your telephone socket which routes all calls through OneTel automatically. If you want a call not to be routed using the adapter, you don’...

A Crowne in the Jewel that is Tel Aviv
Review of Crowne Plaza Hotel Tel Aviv by
lazza123
Advantages: Location, Locatin, Location!
Disadvantages: None really - see text
...I had to attend a conference in Tel Aviv, Israel. The conference was in the Crowne Plaza Hotel, so it made sense to stay there!
In Israel the currency is the New Israeli Shekel, which in this review will be called NIS. When I changed my money at Heathrow, the exchange rate was 7.79 NIS to the £. Some of the cost was in US $ so the exchange rate that was on my credit card statement was $1.81 to the £
*** Before I got there ***
I booked my stay on line at the Intercontinental hotels web site, check the web site for the latest deals www.ichotels.com
I didn't know how to get from Tel Aviv airport, to the hotel, so while still in the UK I sent the hotel an email asking if there was a courtesy bus. They promptly responded, telling that there wasn't, but the ways to get to the hotel were either by train, bus (number 222...

Tel-Aviv,
Review of Tel-Aviv (Israel) by
Smiler_1980
Advantages: Friendly people, superb food, sun!
Disadvantages: Risks of bombings
...I have visited Tel-Aviv on business on a number of occasions. Often I spend time at the Sheraton Moriah hotel due to preferential rates our company gets through the Israeli Export institute. I advise if you are travelling to Tel-Aviv on business that you make enquiries.
The currency in Israel is the New Israeli Shekel (NIS). The exchange rate at the time of writing this review is 8.2 NIS to £1. Take time to check the online currency exchange page www.xe.com for up to date rates.
The city of Tel-Aviv is located on the eastern shores of the Mediterranean. The city has a great beach which is easily accessible and has a number of bars both on the beach and also set back. I advise that if you visit the city take time to watch the sun set over the Mediterranean in one of the many bars that fringe the sea front.
Many people...

My OneTel (Not as it used to be! ( 28-06-05)
Review of One.Tel by
JohnButler
Advantages: At least, thety are still streets ahead of BT!
Disadvantages: Every time the write me nowadays -something has increased!!
...I wrote the following when I was (almost) completely satisfied with onetel. But times change and I've moved on -I just wish they had not -and I find cheaper, more effective alternatives evry day!
"Let me start by stating that the Bride and I (but mainly her!) use our domestic 'phone BIG time. Three years ago, after an unresolved row with BT left us determined to seek an alternative, we got to hear about OneTel. With some trepidation, we decided to make the switch; the move was one of the best decisions we've made in managing our household and we remain totally satisfied.
We reckon switching to OneTel saves us 50% on our home telecoms costs each year. Now, instead of a garbled summary of discounts, allowances, credits invariably resulting in an astronomical number at the bottom, we get a neat, comprehensive and very readable bill...

One.Tel unlimited internet access UPDATED
Review of OneTel by
LadyMuck
Advantages: Excellent value and service, no credit card needed
Disadvantages: Not available in all areas
...Some time ago I was in a sorry state of affairs trying to balance my internet addiction against huge phone bills, not an easy task.
So why not just sign up for an unmetered access account with say, BT or AOL etc you may ask? Well if, like me, you are not in possession of a bank account for various reasons and your credit cards are in little pieces in the bin (best place for them!) then you are severely limited in your choices and have little option but to count the pennies whilst online.
That is until a little One-Tel leaflet fell out of a magazine. The words that caught my eye were £12.99 per month, 'no credit card needed'! Whoop de doo! I made a phone call, was given a freephone number by a friendly member of staff and within minutes I was surfing as if it were going out of style without the worry of watching the minutes clock...

One.Tel saved the day
Review of OneTel by
kiria
Advantages: Very Cheap calls if you choose the right package.
Disadvantages: None that I have come across.
...Hi....I was looking avidly for a landline service that would help me out as I needed to make calls to the USA. I needed something that wouldnt be expensive and that I didnt need to use any coded numbers either. So ease of use was a factor for me.
I had checked out several of them and found that One.Tel offered the best value. The site was easy to navigate and it gave you quite a lot of options to choose from. Lots of combo packages to cover your particular needs. You could tailor the package to do just that, it even gave you a Q and A sequence to help you find the right package for 'you'. This I found to be most helpful because when you first check a site out there is so much information to take in you dont always make the right choices.
For me it was simple, I wanted cheap International calls and I had found what I was looking...

Get Ready...3..2..One.Tel
Review of OneTel by
bwanamdevu
Advantages: You get to keep more of your own money!
Disadvantages: Please tell me.
...are all far lower than any rate B.T. can offer as well.
Registering is a simple procedure. It can be done on-line from their excellent web-site or over the phone with a real person! After you have registered your phone-number with "one-tel" they give you a simple 4 digit prefix that has to be dialled before the rest of the international number. It`s easy enough just to enter this long, long number into the memory of your phone and save time and effort. If you like one-tel will send you a little gadget called a phone-pal that automatically routes all your calls through their system,no need to dial the prefix!
An itemised bill can be sent to you for payment at the end of the month or you can set up a direct debit to your bank or credit-card account. You can even register with them to get all your bills over the internet. They are also an I...

Ode to One.Tel
Review of One.Tel by
CarolB
Advantages: Cheap!
Disadvantages: Late charges and fee for non-direct debit
...One sunny morning I woke up,
Oooh, oooh, oohh, ooohh,
Heard the postman at the door,
Oooh, oooh, oohh, ooohh,
Looked at the mat,
And there it was, amongst the mail,
An invitation to join One.Tel
CHORUS:
Woo oh, One.Tel came into my life,
They’ll cut my bills and end all my strife,
Join up with One.Tel,
Oh such a hard sell!!
With all the joy of a child,
Oooh, oooh, oohh, ooohh,
I read the leaflet all the way through,
Oooh, oooh, oohh, ooohh,
£5 a month for weekend calls, and evening calls,
Well, nothing else will ever do!!
CHORUS
So hurry now, to join up,
Oooh, oooh, oohh, ooohh,
As nothing else will ever do,
Oooh, oooh, oohh, ooohh,
So hurry up, before they have the time to change their minds,
‘Cause I’m afraid you’ll lose this deal!
CHORUS
(sing along to the tune of “...

OneTel are pretty useless...
Review of OneTel by
ayanayuk
Advantages: Cheap calls
Disadvantages: Unhelpful customer support, seem to be incapable of taking and modyfying details.
...and tried to access the next morning once again with the same problem.
Once again I rang OneTel who told me this time to call the customer support on a premium rate number. I was reluctant to do this as I didn't really need support, but for them to activate my account. I spoke to the OneTel op on the customer support for around 10 minutes and was put on hold several times which further increased my cost and was told once again to wait another 4 hrs.
Later that evening I was able to finally access the dial-up, but was not able to get access to my e-mail. I rang up the premium rate again to check that the e-mail was set-up correctly and was told it was, but to give that another couple of hours to check out. At this point I lost faith in their ISP service.
I can't really fault their cheaper calls abroad as they are much cheaper...
