A Binatone That's ET To Use
Review of Binatone SYSTEM500 by  mickeydumville

Advantages: Stylish With A Good Array Of Features
Disadvantages: Hard To Find If You Want One

...In the electric department of Asda my eye was caught by a price tag, above which was an answer phone. I quickly studied the tag just to confirm it related to the phone, and it did. They only wanted £4.99 and that seemed too good a bargain to miss so in the trolley it went. At the check out the price came up wrong (£17.99 if I remember correctly) so I pointed out the ticket price. Away went a supervisor who adjusted the price, in my favour, and home I went. The moral is, if you think you're getting a bargain, check your receipt! What Is It? It is the Binatone System 500, a corded analog telephone with digital answering machine. It comes in a box with pictures portraying the phone. Inside are the handset, base unit, extending coiled cord, AC adapter and telephone lead. All these components are individually wrapped in clear... Read review

Binatone Activity 1000
Review of Binatone ACTI1000/2 by  BLACKDOG100

Advantages: Price, Functions.
Disadvantages: A bit echoy

...I bought a pack of these phones from B&Q recently, and you may ask "Why go to B&Q for telephones?" but it seems B&Q have everything. However, the main attraction of this phone pack was that you good two handsets with mutiple funtions for a very reasonabe price. The brand name Binatone seems to remind me of early cheap keyboards, and other cheap musical instruments when I was younger. So first of all I was warey in case they turned out to be cheap and nasty. But I was pleasantly surprised when I started to use them. You get two hand sets that are wireless and cord free, a base transmission unit that also serves as the charger for the first hand set, and an additional charger / cradle for the second hand set. They are blue and silver in colour and have a rubberised finish which should serve to protect them if they are lying... Read review

Binatone 510sms - Texting from your landine
Review of Binatone Speakerphone 510S by  derek-j-a

Advantages: send/receive texts, cheap product, caller display, easy to use
Disadvantages: microphone could be a little better

...The Binatone Speakerphone 510sms is a corded telephone that not only has a hand's free facility, but can actually text mobiles and other phones and receive them, has caller display, last number redial, a phone-book, 4 quick dialling buttons to store the most often-called numbers, in, out and draft boxes to store text messages and all this for a little over £21 that I paid in Tesco. At the time of writing, I have done a search at google and it's brought up this model at similar prices on lots of sites. Using the phone. On getting it out of the box, you first have to insert 4 X AA batteries, which unfortunately were not supplied with my phone, but what can I expect for the price! This has to be done before plugging the phone in. I am not sure for the reason for keeping the phone unplugged. You then press the menu button to set... Read review

Binatone is Back
Review of Binatone Trend by  Sexy_Young_God

Advantages: Wall Mountable
Disadvantages: No Display

...have to write in. Bad thing is that this cannot be removed then put back in. ***What would make it Better*** There are alot of ways to make this better like the following: 1)LCD Display 2)Answer Machine 3) Caller Display Module. and a million others probably. This handset is a cheap one and i only paid £4.99 for it. My father always said dont pay cheap because you will only get the basics to get you up and running. I wish i had taken his advice. I wouldn't even give this to my 10 year old sister to play with. It is Very Fisher-Price. You buy cheap you get Rubbish. ***Reception*** The Binatone Trend offers good reception in most area's. ***Internet*** The bad this about this is that you cannot link this handset up to the internet. I am going out tomorrow to by that new Amstrad e-mailer phone. That is brilliant.... Read review

LOOK MUM NO HANDS
Review of Binatone MD 2000 TWIN by  steveuk

Advantages: Good value, Caller display, integrated answering machine
Disadvantages: Not very high-tech looking

...I hate to admit it but I’m one of those annoying people who like to walk around while talking on the phone. So, when I saw a 50% sale on all cordless phones at the local O2 shop, I couldn’t resist having a look. You see my old analogue cordless phone with its pull-out aerial was beginning to show its age. My requirements were fairly simple: Digital cordless and Caller Display. An answering machine was not a requirement as I was using BT’s free 1571 service, but I wouldn’t reject a phone that had an integrated answering machine as the free 1571 service has the limitation that you can’t dial home from elsewhere and check your messages. The first phone that caught my eye was the Binatone MD 2000, a “Micro Digital Cordless Telephone with Digital Answering Machine, Caller display and Handsfree Speakerphone.” Phewww, that’s a mouthful... My funky new TOY!
Review of Binatone MD 1500 by  zorena

Advantages: Crystal clear reception, small and compact
Disadvantages: None

...I recently purchased the Binatone MD 1500 (DECT) digital cordless phone after being sick of my phone cable getting tangled and stretched. I decided to check out what Argos had to offer and was pleased to find one reasonably priced at £24.95. So I visited my local Argos and brought home my new toy. What was in the box?  Base unit with telephone line cable  Cordless telephone handset  Two rechargeable batteries  Mains adapter  User guide The Binatone MD 1500 is a micro digital cordless phone and comes with a variety of features. The handset itself measures an incredible 12cm and has a 2 line liquid display. It also comes with a built in speakerphone for hands free conversation, which is an extremely useful feature. Up to five handsets can operate from one base unit which is handy... Read review

Sexy but sluggish
Review of Binatone I-DECT X1 by  patwanet

Advantages: Cheap, slim and compact, rugged
Disadvantages: Poor sound quality, weak display and keypad

...corner, and a central plus-shaped cross acting as both navigation, volume, and shortcut controls. The Binatone iDECT X1 also features a speakerphone for hands-free talking. The base has one small button that acts as a pager, which will ring the handset when pressed, ideal for finding it when it's gotten lost amongst the sheets on a lazy Sunday morning, or thrown down behind the sofa. Performance. A phone, no matter how basic or advanced, is completely useless or anyone and everyone unless it performs well. Cordless phones do introduce some complications regarding clarity of sound, signal interference, etc, but this, by today's standards, is no excuse for poor performance. Sadly, this phone does not live up to expectations given everything else said so far. In my very first test call to a UK landline operating with a corded handset... Read review

Hanging on the telephone
Review of Binatone Icarus 90 by  disneyeyes

Advantages: Low-cost cordless convenience.
Disadvantages: Occasionally inconsistent call quality.

.... You will know when this is going to happen because the handset beeps and the call quality deteriorates substantially (it goes fuzzy). When the battery does gasp its last, simply return the handset to the base unit for a few hours to recharge. Or less. If you are willing to sacrifce call quality for the sake of urgent gossip. The handset is slim, lightweight and reasonably stylish. Call quality does vary at times, though interference occurs mainly when the battery is flagging or in particularly bad weather. Considering that a telephone might reasonably be considered one of the more essential household items, I'm satisfied that I haven't skimped on quality for the sake of frugality. For the price, the Binatone Icarus 90 is proving to be a robust bit of kit and the new-found (for me! Come on, humour me...) flexibility of cordless... Read review

Has To Be The Best Phone Binatone Have Made!
Review of Binatone Vantage 4210 by  Starseeker1

Advantages: Looks Cool - It is like having the use of 2 phones - Base Speakerphone
Disadvantages: No Speakerphone on the Handset itself

...Recently, my cordless telephone broke down, leaving me know option but to replace it. However, I was not going to run out and buy the first phone I saw, Oh No! so I decided to use my standin phone for a short time, until I found the phone that most appealed to me; which I must add didn't take very long. I went into Argos to to buy something, when I came accross one of their offer flyers. I took the flyer home, and had a good look through it, and that was when I came accross the Binatone Vantage 4210 telephone. It looked fantastic, and I just hoped that the quality of the phone would be a good as its looks. Anyway I decided to purchase it at a very reasonable price of £34.95. I took home the phone and on looking at the workmanship of the phone, it looked great. It has a comfortable feel in the hand, and looks really modern too... Read review
