An excellent inexpensive phone!
Review of Geemarc Apollo by
master-ryan
Advantages: Nice and cheap, simple to use
Disadvantages: Lacks a few features
...The Geemarc Apollo is a small compact telephone which is cheap and available in quite a few colours. I brought it a few months ago because our old telephone (which was very expensive) had a really poor reception and just didn’t work properly. I thought that maybe if I brought a cheaper one for £5 or something it might work better than if I was to buy an expensive one. It did. The phone itself does everything it is supposed to do with no problems, but the phone hardly has any features. So if you are after a phone to make calls and that’s it, this is a perfect choice.
FEATURES:
-Ringer volume option
-Answer phone built in
-Tells you who called you if you didn’t answer.
-Re-dial function
So then, a little bit of info about the phone:
EASE OF USE---------------------- 9 out of 10
Its pretty simple to use really, all...

Philips cordless answer phone for the home.
Review of Philips CD235 by
perfectlypolished
Advantages: Neat and easy to use
Disadvantages: None
...packets of two AA rechargeable batteries and a user manual (38 pages, all in English), with a quick start guide and the guarantee.
○◊○ Setting it all up ○◊○
First of all plug in the mains power adapters to the base stations. The larger base which also has the answer phone bit has to be close to both a phone and power socket. The smaller base only needs to be plugged to a power socket. Connect the telephone line cord to the phone socket on the back of the unit and to the wall phone socket.
Put the supplied batteries into the hand sets by simple sliding the door off the back of the phone, insert the supplied batteries and slide door back. These batteries allow 10 hours talk time and 120 hours standby in case of power failure or the handset not being replaced on the base unit.
Now you can place...

BNibbles Can't Come To The Phone Right Now
Review of BT Verve 450 TWIN by
BNibbles
Advantages: Very versatile and intuitive to use. SMS-enabled
Disadvantages: I still get phone calls
...We've had a BT-branded cordless DECT* phone combined with an answering machine for quite a while now, although it's had one or two annoyances right from the start.
a) Unless you bought the in-line battery pack, and kept it serviced with 6 AAs every year, the answering machine loses its messages during a power cut.
b) The handset's rechargeable battery pack didn't seem to hold a decent charge for very long, requiring frequent replacement.
Other than that, the Siemens-sourced Diverse 1015 has been a strong performer, if a little industrial in its slate-grey appearance, like a dashboard from the Volkswagen Audi Group.
* (Digitally Enhanced Cordless Telephone)
Whilst tidying up the bedroom the other day, we concluded that the existing corded phone was a bit of a menace, as it was too easy to pick the phone up in the dark...

As Free As A Bird
Review of BT Freestyle 2200 Twin Handset Telephone (Silver) by
the_mad_cabbie
Advantages: Inexpensive to buy. (Shop around) Brilliant clarity. Lots of useful features.
Disadvantages: Not a lot!
...to find out who was trying to contact me.
One feature the phone DOESN'T have is an inbuilt answering machine. (Although you can get this feature on other, more expensive, BT models) Personally, I don't feel I really need this, as I have the facility to set up a voicemail system with my new VoIP telephone provider, so can get any messages by simply making a (free) call to retrieve them.
~ ~ Other features include a choice of ten or so different ring tone melodies, and you can assign a different ring tone to each phone. You can use the phone as a pager system, which again I find handy. Say I'm doing a job up in my workshop, and my wife or daughter want to contact me, then they can do so simply by pressing a button on the other phone. The base unit on the main phone has a built-in speaker, so you can share the call with any other person...

Excellent value telephone
Review of Binatone Diologue R/F by
eightiescleaners
Advantages: Low cost to buy compact wall mountable
Disadvantages: none
...appliances.
Most other phones with a high price on them tend to be very complicated to use and many of the features available I would never use and end up studying the instructions for hours and hours.
In conclusion unless you are buying an answer machine combined all phones are the same to me... you just pick it up and talk.
Buy on price...

Great no-frills cordless phone & answering machine
Review of Cable&Wireless CWD 2600 by
bgen
Advantages: pleasant design, clear sound, good value for money
Disadvantages: no backlight for screen and keys; no time & date stamp
...necessary) and the standby and talk time are reasonably good (but obviously, are dependent on the quality of the rechargeable batteries).
The answering machine (digital; 12 min) has 2 standard welcome messages built in, or you can record your own, and can be turned off or work in 'answer only' mode (when it can invite the caller to try again later). The answering machine can start after a variable number of rings (2-7) and can be accessed remotely (for when you're abroad, for example) via a PIN.
The phone is reasonably small (but still comfortable to use by large persons), has a nice modern design and feels great in your hand. The manual is very good, but probably you won't need it much, as the phone is quite simple to use: the menus are very clear and easy to navigate.
In summary this is a great digital cordless phone, combined...

BT Cordless Digtal Phone with Answer Machine....
Review of BT XC500 by
karenlearmonth
Advantages: Looks smart, easy to operate, clear buttons
Disadvantages: Feel of being in an open space on the line!
...Firstly I shall explain why I felt I should review my telephone - because nobody else appears to have done!
Product Overview (Not exhaustive):
* Storage - upto 50 frequently used names & numbers
* 2 handsets - 1 on basestation with answer machine, but both can access the answer machine via the handset menu
* Caller Display - Subject to service provider, with subscription I think
* Recording time on Answermachine - Upto 12 minutes
* Call Transfer - allows calls to be passed between numerous handsets on the same line
* Internal Calls - between handsets
* Redial
* Quickdial
* Secrecy
* Volume
Reception & Clarity of speech:
Personally I am relatively happy with this phone set, but there is just something about the reception/clarity that seems strange. You seem to feel distanced, but not in a particularly bad way. I...

Samsung SPR6150 DECT phone with answering machine.
Review of Samsung SPR6150 by
smcccc
Advantages: Very stylish with lot's of functions.
Disadvantages: A bit pricy.
...when needed and the date and time.
The LCD screen also shows call information such as caller display which allows you to check who's calling first and gives you the option to answer or not.
Also on this screen is where the last 20 dialed numbers can be viewed too.
There is also a phonebook where you can store up to 70 numbers and assign each number with a corresponding name so it's easy to know which number belongs to whom allowing you to make a call without having to remember the number.
The phone also has 10 different ring tones which I use a lot as it allows you to assign a ringtone to a specific caller so that when the phone rings with a certain ringtone I know who is calling,
but this feature is only available if the telephone systems used by both you and the caller support Caller ID.
Other functions are………………
An alarm...

Phones For Me!!!!
Review of BT Freestyle 7110 QUAD by
phoenixgreen
Advantages: Great features, SMS, Caller Display and more.
Disadvantages: Some features are hard to set up without the user guide.
...status of it. Being able to walk out into the garden and sit in the evening sun while talking to friends is wonderful, and it also means that if I’m working in the garden, tending my veg or cutting flowers for the house, I can take a phone out with me and not have to make a mad dash into the house to answer it before the answering machine kicks in. The range of this phone (for those of you who like to know these things) is 50 metres indoors and up to a massive 300 metres outdoors. The phones also have a cool belt clip (I know, I’m a sad girl to be excited by a belt clip) which is great if whatever I’m wearing in the garden doesn’t have pockets.
Other great features of this phone include:
*Music on hold
*Alarm (one of my personal favourites!)
*Call Timer (for if you have a phone package where you have to hang up after 59 minutes...

Betacom DAS500 Telephone Answering machine
Review of Betacom Director by
sit2020
Advantages: compact and sturdy
Disadvantages: ring is quiet
...I have been using this phone at work for a while now. My first impression of this was a tidy compact phone that also has a built in digital answering machine. It feels sturdy and robust (just as well with me using it). It is also not too light again good for me as it stands a better chance of not getting knocked off the desk and ending up on the floor.
The phone..
In keeping with most phones these days the cable from the handset to the phone is not very generous, but a replacement can be purchased to replace it if needed.
The audible sound is pleasant if a little on the quiet side it also has a flashing LED (light emitting diode) that works when the phone is ringing.
The phone can be wall mounted, this is handy for homes where space is a premium.
With a REN (Ringer Equivalence Number) of 1.0 you are still left with room for other...
