By Timothy! It's Paul Temple.
Advantages: Good dramatisation
Disadvantages: Ending not as good as it could be
...Introduction
Having suffered with sleeping problems for the past few years, I frequently buy/borrow audio books to help take my mind of things when I'm lying there unable to sleep in the middle of the night. I find audio books very relaxing and am usually able to get myself back off to sleep by listening to a side or two. On the whole, I prefer books read by one reader rather than dramatisations, but on this occasion, there was no alternative available. It is even difficult to get hold of the original books on which the dramatisations were based. Paul Temple dramatisations were played on the BBC between 1938 and 1969, with Peter Coke in the role of the amateur detective, Paul Temple (fond of saying By Timothy!) and Marjorie Westbury in the role of his wife, Steve.
The plot
Having proved himself in the past as an excellent detective...

Temple Church: A Curious Congregation of Knights and Lawyers
Advantages: Excellent original features. Beautiful interior restoration.
Disadvantages: Variable opening hours
...INTRODUCTION
Ever since reading Sir Walter Scott?s ?Ivanhoe? as a pre-teen, I have been fascinated by knights, especially the Poor Fellow-Soldiers of Christ and of the Temple of Solomon, or the Knights Templar as they are more colloquially known. Their white mantle with the blood red cross emblazoned on it inspired childhood daydreams of glorious battles, war horses and many a damsel saved from distress. Of course, in those days, I didn?t really know much about their past. That, and the fascination that arose from it, was down to a Medieval History course at university taught by a very passionate professor, who opened my eyes to the rich and chequered history of one of the most important and amazing military organisations the world has ever known.
Then Dan Brown came along and popularised the Grail legend in ?The Da Vinci Code...

The temple dedicated to the God Horus.
Advantages: A beautifully preserved temple.
Disadvantages: Can get very hot and very crowded with tourists.
...Temple of Edfu.
The great temple of Edfu is situated on the West bank of the Nile River in Egypt. It was built on top of an even more ancient temple between the years 237BC and 57 BC during the time of the Ptolemaic Dynasty and the reign of Cleopatra. Edfu was an ancient city of about 60,000 people and it was believed that it may have been a major site for people setting out on their journeys into the desserts. It is the best preserved temple in Eygpt built of sandstone and it is quite large. It is the second largest and best preserved temple in Egypt.
The story of Horus the Falcon God,
It is dedicated to the God Horus. Horus was considered a Falcon God of the Sky he was also considered as other Gods too and there is some confusion of who he was as different names were used to describe the same person. Horus represented life...

Whip around the temple of Peril!
Advantages: Fun and one of the only two coasters in this park
Disadvantages: Queues can get long in peak seasons
...When myself and my hubby went to Disneyland Paris there were various attractions that we loved - I have already written a review on the Aerosmith rollercoaster that we loved and a close second is the Indiana Jones and the temple of Peril rollercoaster. This is high speed coaster with loops and drops and is suitable for those who like fast rides.
Which park is it in?
This coaster is located in the main Disneyland Park and is in the Adventure land section of the park. Adventure land is at the back of the park on the left hand side and so it is one of the attractions that is furthest from the entrance gates of the park!
What kind of ride is it?
The ride is of course a roller coaster if you hadn?t already guessed that from the title of the ride! However it is on a much smaller scale than what the Aerosmith coaster is...

Temple of Karnak-among the best sites in Egypt
Advantages: Intricately detailed temple
Disadvantages: Crowds of tourists
...with another two backpackers and settled down into a hostel.
The two boys obviously hadn't had my traumatic experience coming down on the train, having gone first class and were all psyched up to go and see some temple or other. I waved them off saying I was knackered and would catch up with them later and we could head to Valley of the Kings tomorrow together and went to lie down in our room. At this point I realised why all the touts at the railway station had been shouting about air-conditioning which we did not have. I am no stranger to heat and have been in many tropical countries and everyone has always said that the humid heat is the worst yet I have never experienced the intensity of that dry heat in Luxor and other places along the edges of the Sahara. After 15 minutes I gave up, grabbed a guidebook to see that the boys had marked they...

Temple Hotel, Matlock Bath
Advantages: lovely views with quality accommodation
Disadvantages: small ensuite, not the cheapest
.... This wasn't a problem and we were quoted £115 per room including breakfast for all of us. We knew this wasn't the best price but didn't try and negotiate as we were only staying one night whilst visiting friends in a nearby town. We were asked to give a £40 non-refundable deposit over the phone to confirm our booking. We were also pleased to discover that the hotel was now a completely no-smoking hotel. Within a few days we received a letter confirming our reservation.
On arrival we found the hotel had not changed much. You enter via a narrow doorway and immediately the bar is through a doorway on your right and there is a hallway with the hotel's logo of a temple woven in to the carpet. We followed the stairs up half a flight to the reception desk (still with the unique carpet) where we were greeted by a very helpful member...

Swiss frollicks
Advantages: Strangely enjoyable
Disadvantages: Some may not like the 'radio programme style'
..., luckily, Paul Temple and the Geneva Mystery is one that has survived. Broadcast in 1965, it is one of the later plays, although this isn't terribly important for any newcomer to the series. I was born after the last broadcast and so didn't have the pleasure of hearing them first-hand, but thanks to a combination of my mum's recommendation and a genuine interest in British crime fiction of all periods, I have managed to get hold of a couple of the plays on audio cassette.
Several actors played Paul Temple over the years, but probably the best-known is Peter Coke, who takes on the part for this dramatisation. Temple is a bit of a toff, which is reflected in his accent - he speaks in that cut-glass way that just doesn't seem to exist any more. There is little character development in this episode - although it isn't that necessary to know much...

Temple of Gloom perhaps
Advantages: Action packed movie
Disadvantages: No character development
...us yet.
Stephen: Yes, we saved his career there didn’t we, shame we couldn’t do the same for the Hamill boy, could have found him a role as Indiana’s side kick maybe?; although I here he may have a burgeoning career in the computer games market.
George: yeh. Well this coffee stinks I think I’m going back home, time to think of another movie.
Stephen: why not do another Indiana Jones movie? It’ll bring in some cash, and we don’t have to work much on a script, as the fans will come anyway!
George: you may have something there, perhaps we could plan a third too?
Stephen: sure why not!
…and so on and so on….
<Comment>
OK so why did I introduce the movie in such a way; well I feel that the Temple of Doom really was made due to the success of the Raiders of the Lost Arc movie. It was...

New Opinion - Temple Bar - The Never Ending Party
Advantages: The friendliest city in Europe
Disadvantages: Weather - lots of "liquid" sunshine
...~ ~ Mention the words “Temple Bar” to anyone from Europe or North America, and immediately you are likely to be regaled by stories of the wild time they have had while visiting this trendiest of bohemian districts in Ireland’s capital Dublin, or else how much they really want to go and pay a visit, as they’ve heard so much about it from their friends.
What is incredible about this is that as little as twenty years or so ago this district was nothing better than a run down (and fast becoming derelict) slum, right in the heart of the city, and not a stone’s throw from the city’s premier street, O’Connell Street.
A decision by the then Government to redevelop it as an entertainment and shopping area was almost laughed at, but has since proved its undoubted wisdom, as this district alone is...
