...The tenth instalment of Stephanie Plum, written by Janet Evanovich. Stephanie Plum is a New Jersey bounty hunter. In Ten Big Ones, Steph finds herself in more trouble than even she's come up against before. Managing to anger a local gang, she ends up with a contract out for her death and no place to live for fear of endangering those she loves. With the help of Joe Morelli (a hot Trenton cop) and Ranger (an equally hot bounty hunter and businessman, and manager of RangeMan) among others she stays alive, destroys several more cars and of course, wrestles a naked guy, and kidnaps a gang member … but that's all everyday stuff for Stephanie Plum! In Ten Big Ones, Stephanie also has to contend with her eccentric family, ranging between her father who only ever seems to eat meatloaf, her Grandmother who carries a gun, and her niece... ...To make this list slightlyt different I thought I'd do a top ten list of the last hundred years one from each decade. Ok here goes one great film from each of the last 10 decades…. Performance strong buy all members here lyrics particularly good 4.: This Is But A Test Reading what pole had named this, I was apprehensive about trying it, but I'm up for anything and so thought I'd give it a try. Afterwards I must confess I didn't enjoy the feeling I was left with after this one so much. ...), Nicholas Cage in a serious role. I can't usually stand was-time dramas and I'm no fan of Penelope Cruz (& I don't even think she's good looking!), but this is excellent and truly moving. The Germans are portrayed rather stereotypically but that's a necessary plot device and almost definitely how those who suffered under them at the time would have felt about them. ---------- There are so many other great films out there… have a look at other people's top tens, I'm sure you'll find many you agree with (and just as many that you don't!), but will also have some excellent films you may never even have heard of brought to your attention. ---------- Best films by year: 2001 - A Beautiful Mind 2002 - The Two Towers 2003 - Master & Commander 2004 - Million Dollar Baby... ...Recently, there’s been talk in our house of getting SKY TV installed. Its not cheap, let’s be honest, and on some nights you can struggle to find anything more bearable than a test-card to watch. But, on the plus side, there’s the movies… thousands of them… New; old; premieres; repeats; buried treasures and fabled classics… not to mention the dross. More movies than stars in the sky (well, Hollywood, at least). However, I have a fear. I honestly believe that if we get this wonderful invention installed my girlfriend will be calling out a team of archaeologists in three years time to have my backside excavated from the sofa.
