Stunning Tenby
Review of Tenby (Wales) by  BUSSTOP

Advantages: Great Town,Great People,Great Food
Disadvantages: Too Far From Liverpool

...Tenby is a stunning town and I have to admit I have holidayed in and around Tenby since I was a small boy. Very little has change sine my first visit, but it offers something special that I just cannot put my finger on. It has stunning beaches and wonderful views of Caldy Island; it''s not a place to go if you expect a wild time,it's a place to relax and unwind and just let the world go by. You'll find once you arrive and start to walk the streets that a certain calmness comes over you and you find yourself forgeting about time and you just go with the flow. There are a number of pubs that serve food, but you'll find the Buckineer in the town centre will provide a wonderfull meal at a reasonable price. If you're looking to do a little exploring a little futher around the coast you'll come to a caravan site called Lydstep Beach... Read review

Tenby, beaches you think you can only find abroad.
Review of Tenby (Wales) by  melsey

Advantages: lovely town to walk about, cheap food, children friendly.
Disadvantages: there are none

...I first went to Tenby because, it was a cheap holiday £98 aweek in a tent. It was the best move i made. Good weather did help. Tenby has the best beach i have seen in the UK so far. They are soft and light and if it is really hot as it was when i went you get that i,m gonna burn my feet before i get to where the family are sat down. The sea was also suprisingly clear. My kids were excited at seeing a jellyfish on the sand as they had never seen one. In the town there is a castle, well you think it is a castle til you enter and there is lovely cobbled roads full of all the little shops we love to tour while on holiday. The famous £1 shop actually sells good products for a pound. Pub meals are cheap, but then across Wales food is cheap, and the pubs are children friendly and treat them special, which helps us adults to relax through... Read review

A.K.A Pusygod
Review of Tenby (Wales) by  WormThatTurned

Advantages: Mild climate, Unspoilt, Good beaches, lots to do, pubs and restaurants, family friendly.
Disadvantages: Bit secluded, weather can spoil if your unlucky

...Tenby is one my favourite seaside resorts that I have visited in the U.K. I first went there as a teenager and enjoyed many days there and recently re-discovered it ten years later. It is very popular and has become a bit of a haven for youngsters but it has lost none of it's charmful appeal. ~Location~ Tenby lies in Pembrokeshire which is a naturally beautiful area of the U.K. Pembrokeshire is still undiscovered compared to other areas and appears very wild with an accompaniment of National Parks and ragged coastlines. The M4 motorway finishes near Swansea and you will be signposted onto the A40 which runs through countryside straight into Tenby. The A484 coastal road, the A485 from Lampeter and the A478 from Cardigan are alternatives. Tenby has a train station with a direct route into Paddington, London and a bustling Bus service... Good Fun in the Sun!
Review of Tenby (Wales) by  gingelou

Advantages: Loads to do!
Disadvantages: None!

...I have been going to Tenby and the surrounding areas with my family every year since I was about 6 months old and I even took my first steps in our old caravan down there! From Birmingham it can take about 3 and half to 4 hours to drive there, but it is well worth the drive! hey I even driven there first thing in the morning just to spend the day there and drive home in the evening! Tenby itself is one of the main big towns in Pembrokeshire, it is surrounded by other equally as nice smaller villages such as Saundersoot, Wisemans Bridge, Pleasant Valley, Amroth and Pendine. Those are the most popular tourist beach spots in the summer. I'll tell you abit about all these places as well as Tenby as they all help make it the beautiful place it is. Tenby As I've said Tenby is one of the main big towns in the area, it has... Read review

Pleasantly surprising
Review of Tenby (Wales) by  NATI

Advantages: Beautiful
Disadvantages: Nope!

...Tenby is one of those places that for years I only heard about, and alot of the stuff I heard really wasn't that great. However, maybe the place had changed by the time I got round to going there, but I loved it! Tenby is situated in Pembrokeshire on the West Coast of Wales, near to Saundersfoot, and a stones throw away from Oakwood theme park. Pembrokeshire is one of few areas which I would not reccommend going to without the use of the car. This is because, if you escape form the towns and the usual popular tourist areas, there is alot more to the place that meets the eye. Tenby itself is a lovely little coastal town, with a couple of gorgeaous golden beaches, which always seem to be relatively clean despite being so close to the oil refinery at Milford Haven. The town itself is not somewhere I would recommend to go shopping... Read review

Little England Beyond Wales
Review of Tenby (Wales) by  ladyrider

Advantages: Beaches with beautiful sand, Entertainment for all ages
Disadvantages: Can get overcrowded

...As the title would suggest this really is a little England. First impressions of Tenby as you travel on one of the two roads into town suggest it is a little Torquay tucked away in the corner of Wales. You would not be far wrong. Parking is a problem in the peak season but I would suggest parking near the High School and walking in. The car parks and roadsides can be crammed in a very short space of time. If you are coming in by train the station is situated only 3 minutes from the Town walls. Starting with accommodation in Tenby is easy. For those of you who enjoy to be waited on I would suggest any of the hotels on the South parade, which overlook South Beach and Caldey Island (more on that in a moment). For those on a budget there are many B&Bs scattered around the town. Or if you prefer the main caravan and camp site Kiln... Read review

By the sea side
Review of Tenby (Wales) by  in1072

Advantages: Diverse, plenty to see and do, clean and fun
Disadvantages: Can get a bit noisey with stag and hen night revellers

...Tenby is one of those places that has everything. Pubs, restaurants, cafes, a marvellous ice cream parlour, fish n chips, nice shops, tacky shops are all there plus lots of other excellent facilties! Tenby has its own harbour (and lifeboat) and is enclosed in ancient castle walls. There are so many B&Bs, Guest Houses and hotels I won't even start to comment. The most popular for self-catering is Frank Mason & Co, Tenby - they offer a wide range of flats and houses at a range of prices. The beaches are wonderful - long and golden - there is an island off shore which you can visit (by small boat) and wander round the monastry there (men only in the monastry!)... There are water sports in the summer - banana boat rides, water skiing, parascending (my fave) from a boat, speed boat rides and scuba diving!!! (tried that too... Read review

Please don't feed the Seagulls!
Review of Tenby (Wales) by  Nolly

Advantages: scenic, lovely beaches, attractions for all the family
Disadvantages: competitive urination isn't my thing

...We've just got back from our holidays. For the first time ever I ventured further west into the Principality of Wales and we got as far as the seaside resort of Tenby. We were staying in a tent (yes, myself, Mrs Nolly and our two small children all cramped in a tent for five days!). The park we were staying at was a mile north of the town of Tenby, and I intend to discuss different facets of our trip.... The Journey = Well, we live in deepest darkest Herefordshire, and so we headed east towards Brecon on the A438 and then on to the A40. The distance was 120 miles for us. If you are coming from the South, just keep on going to the end of the M4 and follow the signposts for Carmarthen, St Clears and Tenby! Our way meant we stopped for lunch in a very pleasant town called Llandeilo. The Park = The park we... Read review

A great holiday resort
Review of Tenby (Wales) by  Lynda04

Advantages: A good variety of activities, lovely scenery.
Disadvantages: None, although perhaps a long drive for those not close to the M4 motorway

...Tenby in Pembrokeshire is a bustling holiday town, plenty of shops for those who need a bit of retail therapy, plenty of pubs and eating places at prices to suit every pocket. As a bonus, Tenby is a seriously scenic resort, with Blue Flag beaches, lots and lots of sand, and boat trips to Caldey Island or just around the bays nearby. We travelled from Shropshire, and the journey was around 165 miles, no motorway travelling involved, so it was literally a cross country journey. Although the journey was over three and a half hours the scenery more than made up for the time taken. Most of the shops, pubs and eateries are situated inside the old walled town, there are the usual touristy gift shops, but there are also the shops which I would class as “different” such as clothing shops which are stocked with unusual...
