Then june2007 i packed my bags and off i went to work in tenerife until augest2007. Tenerife is a Spanish island it's the largest of the canary islands, it sits just off the coast of North Africa which means it can get very hot, Tenerife has great weather all year round so you can visit any time which makes Tenerife very popular. ...I am a Vegetarian but one place that I love to visit on the Island of Tenerife is Tenerife Pearl. I rarely buy pearls due to how they are obtained but I love to look around Tenerife Pearl. ...Tenerife..Paradise Found,Well that's my opinion anyway. I believe Tenerife is one of those places, that you either love or you hate. I have heard many varied opinions from friends and family, some good and some bad. I would now like to give you my own opinion on Tenerife. Tenerife is the largest of the Canary Islands and its's location, just off the north coast of Africa, gives it a fabulous year round climate. Tenerife is very much an Island of contrasts. In the south, which is known as the sunny side you will find the more well known resorts which include Playa de las Americas and Los Cristianos, the landscape is very baron and dry. ...Tenerife, situated in the Canary Islands, near Ibiza and in the Mediterranean. Paradise! But Tenerife hardly displays the tacky, sex driven ambience of Ibiza. Some areas of Tenerife (Las Americas)are geered towards the British Tourist with pubs, clubs, strip joints and every restaurant serving ham and chips! I am not saying that this is bad. If you want to go on holiday and then end up at home again but with a sunburn then go to Las Americas.If you want to interact with the Spanish Culture, learn a bit about about the Spanish way of Life and maybe change your philosophy on Life then steer clear of Las Americas. Tenerife is only a 3 hour flight from Luton and can cost from £38 depending which airline you take. ...When I mention Tenerife as an ideal Holiday people quite often frown. I think that this is due to the fact that everyone imagines Tenerife as consisting of one town Playa De Las Americas. Most people see this town as full of lager louts and to be honest of a night time they are right. Tenerife however is more than Veronica's party strip. Los Cristianos is just 5 mins away from Playa de las Americas. This op is going to be more of a general overview of Tenerife itself but obviously with a few recommendations. With an all year climate temperatures in May to October, can reach 30 degrees and in the winter a gentle but pleasant 18 degrees. General retail prices are cheaper than the UK especially cigarettes and alcohol. Use a high factor sun cream, sun hat and take something to cover up with. You can burn in ten minutes... Read review

...Flicking through mountains of cheap holiday brochures, you may be forgiven for thinking that Tenerife is only for lager louts in the club 18-30 category; how wrong you are. Many top end travel firms such as elegant resorts, and seasons in style now offer holidays in Tenerife. It appears that it is slowly coming out of its stereotype. Like in many place, a strong north-south divide exists. The south has very few quality establishments and is exclusively the preserve of tourists; the scenery is uninspiring; many people just go there for twenty four hour clubbing and drinking. The south has one hotel that stands out from the rest of low grade establishments - the Gran Meliá Bahia Del Duque. ...I went to Tenerfie for a week in November and had the time of my life, this was however thanks to the research we did first. Tenerife is amazing as it has something for everyone. Those looking for serious night clubing are advised to head to playdas americas, where there is plenty of action. Those looking for cultire are advised to visit the North of the Island, where the weather is less constant but there is more of a local culture with buildings and apparently fantastic shopping oppertunities. However I suspect many of you are like me - sun worshipers who want to relax and take it easy. So we headed off to Costa Adeje which was the ideal choice. ...I have only been to Tenerife once for three weeks and thought i'd share my experience of the island with you all. Also the review of the place where our apartment is, in Costa del Silencio is not very good! So this is to clear a few things up. The apartment is on Amiralla Bay with great views over the ocean and right on the sea front. Unfortunately Tenerife as a whole is very rocky and so there is no beach. There is however a place to get into the sea via a ladder or just jump in (without breaking a leg!). There are always a lot of people down there and the locals are down there after 6pm most days. If they are not in the sea do not go in as i learned, it didn't look too rough but it was. I am a good swimmer but those who aren't that confident would have struggled and didn't see any lifeboats whilst over there so wouldn't like... Read review

...Don't know where to go on holiday this year??? Well, why not try the best of the Canary Islands - TENERIFE. For those who like to party we have the south of the Island (Playa de las Americas), and those who prefer the quieter holiday we have the north. Tenerife is hot all year round which is great for those who want to top up their tan! When I was there in April last year I was lucky enough to go on a coach tour to the popular tourist attraction of Mount Teide (where Planet of the Apes was filmed). I didn't realise it would be so cold up there, so I would advise you to take a jacket. There was an excellent variety of water sports that were not too expensive (only if u can swim unlike myself). For those party animals like myself, there are excellent clubs and pubs. A few I would recommend are BobbY's Soul Train... Read review
