Tenpin Bowling - Hollywood Bowl

Advantages: Great entertainment for people of all ages
Disadvantages: Can be expensive

...I have been a great fan of tenpin bowling for many years. although i dont for one minute pretend to be an expert, it really can be great fun. I have bowled at Megabowl, Solarbowl and Hollywood Bowl, with Hollywood Bowl in my dooyoo opinion being by far the best. One has recently oponed in Norwich, and i guess the set up is the same in all Hollywood Bowl's, I know it is in the Leeds one. In all the times i have been there so far not once has anything gone wrong with the lanes, which i regret to say is a regular occurence at Solar Bowl. Their use of computerised graphis is excellent, with some very amusing things coming up on the screen if you get a strike, spare or the dreaded gutter ball. To Wii or Not To Wii!

Advantages: Wireless controller, innovative, great fun, allows more interaction with friends and family.
Disadvantages: You need some room space to play

...ahead ? sit! You have to adopt the stance of a ten-pin bowler and act as if the controller is the actual bowling ball. This is great fun as you attempt to put swing, height etc on your ball and becomes really competitive. Boxing is also a very physical game and using both controllers you have to punch into the air against a component. This can of course be against the Wii itself or a friend if you have more than 1 controller linked to the Wii! This is quite an exhilarating game and actually gets you out of breath! It is reported that some guy in the USA has lost weight playing Wii boxing everyday for half and hour, although I wouldn?t go cancelling your gym membership just yet! One for everyone

Advantages: Excellent story
Disadvantages: A bit dull at times

...I thought Kingpin was a great film - the idea was original, the cast was good, the acting was fantastic. It is very funny and shows how bowling is not easy with a rubber hand! I must admit that I bought the film mainly because it has Vanessa Angel as one of the stars, but the story and concept are both as fantastic as she is. This film is on the same level as 'Major league', and I believe that if you liked one, you'll like the other. Perhaps not one for the whole family, but definitely one for older viewers. You don't even have to like ten-pin bowling....

This Wii Sports Is Severed

Advantages: Accessibility and simplicity means quick multiplayer competition
Disadvantages: Lacklustre graphics and sound, dodgy controls

TENNIS Doubles matches only, and although advanced techniques allow for spin and slice, the computer-controlled movements of your Mii around the court means not being able to play shots on your preferred side. Also, at most you can make these a 'best of 5' games matches. BASEBALL The fielding is completely computer controlled and pitching is a piece of cake - you'd pretty much have to play for 'Ball'. However, batting is tricky, and whilst my timing is really rubbish, that does not put me off playing it. BOWLING Ten-pin, ten-frame game. The most accessible sport; it's not that difficult to start scoring successive strikes. GOLF There is the wind to consider but it's the controls which can be unpredictable. .... Have you seen the price by the way.....gold for the price of toilet paper...I never realised the market crash would have that kind of affect.. About the story, it's all about finding your mojo again to the backdrop of tenpin bowling...I know, that doesn't make it sound good, but listen, for that price, the price is right you know what I mean Bob.. Listen, if you haven't seen this film yet then the joke is on you. If you have seen the film, what the hell are you reading this review for... One last thing, the soundtrack kicks butt... ...This is a nice little phone for anyone who isn't planning on using it too much, and only needs it for the bare essentials. It's not one for kids to show off to their mates as it has no bluetooth, no camera and no real tones or even polyphonic ringtones, but it serves the purpose well enough, is in colour, and has some decent games if you're ever stuck anywhere, bored. The best games on this phone are TenPin Bowlnig, which is fairly self-explanatory, and Splat! where the player has to correspond with the emerging moles and hit them with a mallet using the corresponding keys. They're not high-quality games, but they will do. However, it also has quite a few bad points. As afore mentioned, it has no camera, and where camera phones are fast becoming an incredibly useful and fun tool, this is quite annoying. It also has no bluetooth, which...
