Advantages: Bowling for "free" in your own home

...Having enjoyed Wii sports bowling immensely, I decided to go "one up" and buy a specialist bowling game for my Wii. This is a typical case of "good in principle, bad in practise". They could have done so much more with this game but have sold themselves short on a greatr many levels. It does reveal certain dimensions to bowling I'd not previously thought of, everything from the curve (hook) on the ball to the oil distribution on the lane. Player fatigue, equipment and reputation all affect your ability and skill to hit the pins, which is fine, but there should be other areas this game could reward you for overcoming these obstacles. You can dive straight in on a quick play, or set up a career. The choice of "lookalikes" is very limited (nothing like the options available when creating a "mii" on other wii games) but you can...

Tenpin Bowling - Hollywood Bowl

Advantages: Great entertainment for people of all ages
Disadvantages: Can be expensive

...I have been a great fan of tenpin bowling for many years. although i dont for one minute pretend to be an expert, it really can be great fun. I have bowled at Megabowl, Solarbowl and Hollywood Bowl, with Hollywood Bowl in my dooyoo opinion being by far the best. One has recently oponed in Norwich, and i guess the set up is the same in all Hollywood Bowl's, I know it is in the Leeds one. In all the times i have been there so far not once has anything gone wrong with the lanes, which i regret to say is a regular occurence at Solar Bowl. Their use of computerised graphis is excellent, with some very amusing things coming up on the screen if you get a strike, spare or the dreaded gutter ball. Bowling comes to the DS (again) - AMF Bowling Pinbusters

...This review is of the Nintendo DS game, AMF Bowling - Pinbusters, published by Koch Media and Bethesda. As the name suggests, this is a game all about ten pin bowling. There are five different modes in which you can play this bowling game, the World Cup, precision bowling, quick play, duckpins and the practice mode. Goliath is a big hooking ball

...The Brunswick BVP Goliath is part of their 'Value Performance' range of bowling balls together with BVP wizard, BVP Ambush, BVP rampage and the BVP punisher. The BVP is now a discontinued bowling ball replaced by the BVP Mammoth. The BVP range of bowling balls are supposed to give high end performance at value prices which they seem to do very well. The BVP Goliath has a high-load particle cover-stock (400 grit sanded) which up until the mammoth was the highest hook potential ball in Brunswick's history with a hook potential rating of 160. The two piece core of the goliath is a inverted bell core which gives a medium RG of 2.590. This gives a ball that hooks through the oil. The ball comes in a deep purple colour which is almost black which I think looks good. It isn't noticeably purple which is what I was after cause I'm not too...

Crazy bowling

...My son got this crazy bowling set for his birthday recently, and he has had great fun playing with it with his cousins and friends. It comprises of a bowling alley (about a metre and a half long), 6 skittles and 2 balls. Everything is plastic and inflatable, so they are great outdoor toys, and great to keep clean. The other good thing about them being inflatable is that they are easy to store away again when they come back down in size - they can just be put back in the box. That could also be a problem too, though - it means that each time you play with it you have to inflate everything. I have kept the bowling alley inflated and keep something on it outside so that it won't blow away, so that I just have to blow up the skittles and balls when my son wants to play with it. Ten Pin Bowling

...Ten Pin Bowling is really more of pastime in this country as opposed to a serious sport, whereas in the good old USA they take their games a lot more seriously, and it even gets on TV!! Most of us here will have experienced Ten Pin Bowling as a social event, with friends, in one the big bowling places such as Mega Bowl or Hollywood Bowl that inhabit just about shopping centre in the country. The nearest one to me is the Metro Centre, so when you go with your friends you normally do some shopping, eat some food and go bowling. The large bowling places are really rather good too. The one I go to has a bar, a fast food restaurant, loads of arcade machines and a large pool hall. The song starts off by giving us the impression that he couldn?t care less about the loss of his girlfriend but unfolds into a lost love song about how he misses her. This song if listened to properly will stir deep feelings in you of loss and loneliness. Another great song would be in my opinion ?Running from Your Dad? this song is so funny I laughed when I heard it for the first time. It still makes me smile today. It is a song about giving a girlfriend the wrong kind of gift for Christmas, if you know what I mean, and her dad chasing the boyfriend with a shovel.
