Lloyds Pharmacy Tens Machine

Advantages: Lots of Functions
Disadvantages: None!

...I purchased the Lloyds Pharmacy version of this machine for my partner because he suffers from sciatica. It was £14.99 to buy and worth every penny. I had hired a TENS machine previously for my labour pains and found it to be very effective so thoughtI might also be able to use this for period pain. I popped into Lloyds and found that this one cannot be used by pregnant mothers - so that is one to remember - but I was quite impressed with it's functionality for massage. It runs from 2 AAA batteries (not supplied) and has two sticky gel pads (they can be reused and I've had mine for several weeks now with no reduction in suction - but you can buy extra sets from Lloyds) a cable and handy belt clip. The system runs for 15 minute and then turns itself off. (They recommend that you do not use it any more than 2 times in one day=30...

Great Machine!

Advantages: Quick Work-Out, Cheaper than Power Plates, Great Results
Disadvantages: Only tones your body, doesnt keep you fit.

...This machine is simply a must if you want to tone yourself up and not have the hassle of going to the gym for hours each week! I bought one of these off Ebay, and now so glad i did. Its simply an amazing piece of kit. My Personal Experience At first i thought, surely this machine cant be as good as i've been reading all over the net, people must be exagerating and just trying to sell the machine. How wrong i was.... The first time i used this, i trained at level 10 (ranges from 1-20) thinking i can take it at that level no problem, and sure enough i was ok, i did a few different positions for my legs, stomache and arms. I trained for about 10 minutes, as i wanted to see how much this would actualy do, and sales reports tell me that 10minutes of using this machine is equivelent to 1 hour at the gym. Boy oh boy did i feel it...

...When I had my leg amputated I suffered from the usual 'phantom pains', I was prescribed some anti-epileptic pills. But before I took them, my physiotherapist told me to try a TENS machine. She explained that the TENS machine would send eletrical pulses through the nervous system to relieve the pain. She then loaned me a machine. Not totally convinced, I decide I had nothing to lose (and I was taking enough medication for other conditions anyway). I was absolutley amazed, the pain was soon gone. It really worked. I never took any further pain killers for that pain! I would certainly recommend a TENS machine for anyone in pain. It is suitable for almost all people (including diabetics (of which I am one)). However it does have a draw back, the price! They are about £40+, so not cheap but certainly worth it....

...on each contraction, those that had a 'bad' experience seemed to just yell and shout at people to help but not help themselves. So, with this in mine my due date approached... and went, and another day passed by, and another. Then 5 days after my due date I had a thing called a show, which in the nicest way of describing it was like a lump of jelly falling out of me... I know not nice! Then the next day (so, 6 days after my due date) I woke up at 4am with contractions. THE BIRTH So, i'm awake and feeling mild period pains in my stomach which disappear then return, I know im in labour and it's not those false labour pains called braxton hicks. Pain, pain go away....don't come back another day

Advantages: Natural form of pain relief. Effective. Portable.
Disadvantages: Heating the pads requires mains power source. Sticky pads can be problematical.

...with a damp lint cloth may help if they become too encrusted, or if they are beyond saving (try living with a hairy Golden Retriever!) then replacement pads cost £14.99 for 4. Although this version of TENS machine is fairly small, it?s not particularly unobtrusive, so you cannot really wear it under your clothes. There are smaller more discrete ones though - Lloyds Pharmacy sell a smaller, two pad non-heatable version for £14.99. IS IT SAFE FOR EVERYONE? In a word, no. A TENS machine is not recommended for everyone, and if you are unsure, then you need to consult an expert. It is not suitable for use during pregnancy or labour (there are specially made TENS machines available to buy or hire for child-birth). ...i can say that this is a great machine it really works and gives you good results i wouldnt say the best but you can certainly tell after a period of time that your body has toned up, i havent got one of these myself but i would like to get one when i can afford it lets say. the vibration on this machine is not like a massage its more intense and when you stay on it for quite a while you will feel your muscles tightnen thats when you know its working. so i definatly gives this machine a thumbs up, i suggest you buy this machine if your too lazy or bored to go to the gym because you can do many exercises on this in the comfort of your own home. this is a great machine and would recommend this a good buy...

The gas and air made me slightly drunk (rather amusing to my husband as I am not one to drink and so he has only ever seen me drunk once in four years.) My experience of labour

When UB40 followed up their first 2 albums which contained their own material with an album drawn from favourite reggae songs from their youth. Having established themselves as the conscience of 80s youth with their socially aware lyrics about unemployment and social injustice it could have been seen a s a commercial sell-out and perhaps ultimately it was. It was also, however, a very fine album. That it must have been a labour of love can be heard in the loving way the songs are crafted and every track reproduces the excellence of the original.
