chad valley pop up tent
Review of Play Tents by
anita.jones
Advantages: easy to assemble
Disadvantages: none
...I would strongly recommend anyone considering buying one of these tents, to visit woolworths and try one of these.
It really does pop up in seconds(on its own actully when you unzip the bag!!!!!!) and is as easy to put up and down as advertised.
I have seen the assistant struggle in the ELC to try and demonstrate their own brand tent.
I bought mine for my daughter several years ago and have found it well used,i also bought the tunnel to match and they are useful in the garden in the summer.
Another idea is when you visit anyone who are childless at least the kids have their own space in the tent to get out all their little bits and they cannot get under anyones feet.
Well worth the money and over the years since i got mine they have got better value.
Worth a look....

PPPPPPPop up a Play Tent
Review of Play Tents by
carolinesite
Advantages: Very easy to store, easy to assemble, gives kids hours of fun
Disadvantages: None
...We brought our son a pop up playtent from a mail order catalogue, just over a year ago, and he just loves it.
It is an action man tent, very safe and well made, and he often plays with it for hours, either in his bedroom or out in the garden (weather permitting).
He has even slept in it on some nights (in his room).
The good thing about these is that they are very real-like, and with one twist they are packed away! So, for something that took up loads of room one minute, has now been slid under the bed, or hung up in it's carry case behind the door.
I have now seen that they make an assortment of these play tents, and they range in price. The action man tent has remained the same price (19.99), but prices now start from as little as £14.75 for the smaller person.
Recommended age starts from 3, although playing...

Sun Tent
Review of Play Tents by
juliew
Advantages: Light and easy to use
Disadvantages: Maybe more ventilation
...We bought a pop up UV resistant tent for our two children before going to Tenerife.
The fun of having a tent at the poolside was only enhanced by the fact that all the other
children wanted to be in too. The children were oblivious to the fact that this was a safety
device and just thought it was a toy.
The model we chose was from Argos and it's main advantage was that it was so simple to use,
light to carry in the suitcase and needed no poles.
We have used it frequently at home in the garden and will get many years of use from it....

We're off on another adventure
Review of Play Tents by
sandemp
Advantages: A base for exploring the unknown | Easy to put up and down
Disadvantages: A little too light for some weather condition
...Just this morning my youngest children decided they were going to go on a jungle adventure, so they packed their backpacks with all the essentials they were going to need, sandwiches, fruit shoots, biscuits, torches and then picked up their trusty tents ready for their long trek. They've got two play tents which fit nicely into carry bags, which are ideal for storage and light enough to carry through the jungle that we normally call our front room.
After a day exploring and hunting for the lost city under the settee, it was time for their guide (mummy) to help them set up camp for the night (well lunch really). Setting up camp was extremely easy, involving simply unfolding the tents which then popped into the right shape. Then it was time to get in the tents, shut the flaps (helps keep all those jungle bugs at bay) and eat their lunch...

Sun Safe
Review of Play Tents by
mandyco
Advantages: Offers UV protection
Disadvantages: None
...My sister lives in Great Yarmouth; she lives about a quarter of a mile from the beach.
In summer she spends a lot of the time on the beach (weather permitting), with her two children.
I wanted to buy a present that both children would get some use from, after pouring through the Argos catalogue; I spotted the new pop up tents.
I didn't think much of them, until I spotted a tent called The Pop Up Sunsafe Tent, straight away I knew this would make an ideal present for the children.
The Sunsafe Tent has exactly the same features as the ordinary Pop Up Tent.
It pops up in seconds; it's extremely compact and easy to store. The Tent is also shower proof, but not waterproof. It can be used indoors and outdoors.
The Sunsafe costs £2 more than the ordinary tent, but you get the added benefit of an UV resistant tent, it has...

A Pop Up Hideaway
Review of Play Tents by
charkai
Advantages: easy to assemble
Disadvantages: takes up a lot of room
...My son got one of these for xmas and he loves playing in it. There are many different types available on the market, different shapes/sizes/ones with domes and tunnels. I am going to write about the Winnie the Pooh Pop n Fun Playhouse, as this is the one my son has.
As you can probably tell, it has pictures of Winnie the Pooh and his friends on the outside of the play tent. The tent itself is in the shape of a 'tree' house, and it features a main door (with velcro inside so you can open/close the door), windows made of mesh and a chimney.
It is extemely easy to assemble. It comes with plastic, foldable rods, which you insert through a bit of piping in the inside of the tent material, and it keeps the tent up. It's really good actually, because if your child leans against the tent and the 'walls' bend in, they pop out again...

Big on play, small on storage
Review of Play Tents by
claireydeacon
Advantages: Suitable for a wide range of children, easy to transport
Disadvantages: Can be awkward to fold down, Kids don't want them put away
...There are many types of “pop up tent” available, but they all work in the same way. The frame is of a strong, springy metal, which bounces back into place if it is fallen on, and the material is strong and shower proof.
They come in many shapes and sizes from cubes and tunnels, to “A” tents, and “Dome” tents, and then there are all the different Character tents as well. Looking in the Argos catalogue the prices start at about £15 and go up to £40 for a combo set of Cube, Tunnel and Tent.
All the items fold down into a small flat circle and have bags to store them in so that they don’t spring open.
We have a number of these products, including two cubes and a tunnel, a dome tent, a goal, and another tunnel.
The height of the dome tent is approx. 114 cm (45") and the base is approx...

It's alive
Review of Play Tents by
GraingerN
Advantages: lightweight, easy to clean, small to store
Disadvantages: -
...Although having read the instructions prior to use when I first opened my daughters new pop up tent I wasn't quite prepared for the force of the tent 'popping up' WOW.
I liked the look of this tent as it's made of nylon, shower proof and comes with a handy storage bag and even tent pegs if you wish to pin it down. There are many accessories you can buy to go with the basic tent such as other style tents which come in various colours and have different shaped access holes and also tunnels which can link the two.
It's versatile as we have used our one both indoors and out and as it's easy to wipe clean it remains looking as good as new, the only thing you have to be aware of is as it's lightweight unless you pin it down it might well fly off if the wind suddenly catches it.
I did however find that I needed a little practice...

Lots of fun
Review of Play Tents by

Advantages: plenty of playvalue
Disadvantages: ?
...POP UP BALL TENT
We have one at work like this its great.
I expect I might treat my grandson to one when he is a little older recommended for 2 years upwards.
The tent we use is the one in the picture here
The tent is easy to put up I can manage it on my own in a couple of minutes. It is made of a plastic fabric and is shower proof washable, has several doors that can be opened
I work with disabled children a lot of whom are in wheelchairs. We do a lot of sensory work with them and using this ball tent is good for then we hoist the children
Out of their chairs and lay them in the tent on the balls this makes them aware of their bodies and any little movement they make moves the balls around I find the children find it quite a restful stress free time We play with them rolling balls over them and get lots of smiles.
This tent...

It's Dora not so Explorer
Review of Playhut Dora the Explorer: Dora's Hideaway Pop-Up Play Tent by
sarahjones87
Advantages: colourful
Disadvantages: Blows over! silly design!
...With summer nearly here I’m sure like many other parents you’re preparing yourselves for various out door activities your going to be expected to provide for the little ones. As a mother of a one year old daughter I invested in the Play hut Dora the Explorer: Dora's Hideaway Pop-Up Play Tent. This seemed ideal as I figured she could use it indoor and outdoor depending on the weather.
The age range does suggest three and up but I personally don’t see the problem as long as they are obviously supervised at all times. This item isn’t a tent as such as it doesn’t have a floor and can result in it falling over as it doesn’t have any support in the bottom. There is no way of attaching it to the floor so it is best not used in windy conditions as it blows right over. On a plus note it is lightweight so if it does fall over...
