My Tent with Rooms

Advantages: Breathable fabric keeps cool in the heat and warm when it is cooler
Disadvantages: It is quite weighty and quite expensive

...I turned to camping rather late in life, only a year or so ago, with an escapade to the Isles of Scilly with my sister. While the trip and the islands themselves were fantastic, my cheap tent certainly was not. I had the bug though, and despite working in the hotel game, I found a real buzz from being able to book a week?s holiday for the princely sum of £6 to £8 a night. On return to the mainland, and armed with a £200 donation from my father in law, we set about searching for a tent. We quickly stumbled upon the Outwell Classic range of tents, as the local Yeomans camping store in my village has a vast display. I also have to admit I was somewhat seducted by the names of their tents, Bear Lake, Wolf Lake, Indian Lake, Norfolk Lake, Trout Lake ? all conjuring up images of camping in the Canadian wilderness with only a fishing rod...

Review of Outwell Bear Lake Tunnel Tent

The ups and downs of a family tent.

Advantages: Lots of space for everyone.
Disadvantages: No longer made.

...The Khyam Michigan 12 was only made in 2007 so can be hard to come by now. But if you are after a large, well set out tent, and you find one of these then grab it whilst you can. The tent is an outer pitch first, or all in one. Personally we leave the inners in place which reduces the pitching time. The tent itself is large and can be difficult and heavy to put up. Saying that I am under 5ft and have limited mobility so if me and hubby can put it up between us then I'm sure others could easily. We have reduced the pitching time to around 30 - 45 minutes now, which is not bad considering. One good thing though, is that although the tent is large it still fits on most pitches so no extra charges. The tent has 3 inners. All or some can be removed if wanted. The largest is 6 berth. This is used by our 4 children and is just big enough...

Review of Khyam Michigan Family Tunnel Tent

A 4 man tent with no men! (HONEST)!!

Advantages: Just a cool looking, well designed and functional tent.
Disadvantages: None for me.

...With T in the park weekend over and a great time had by all, I thought I would review the tent that was my home for the weekend. The tent in question was a Confidence Mars 4 Man Waterproof Dome Tent and although it is a 4 ?MAN? tent there were only me and my two girlfriends staying in this one (well that?s my story and I am sticking to it)! Now I am no camper so I cannot really give too much comparison between this tent and any other except to say it was worlds apart from the old tents I used to camp in as a kid. This tent has one separate bedroom compartment with zippers which would have been useful if any of us had picked up some guy and needed a bit of privacy (BUT WE DIDNT)!! It also had air vents so whilst being completely waterproof it did not become sweaty and therefore wetter inside than it was out, possibly the best thing...

PPPPPPPop up a Play Tent

Advantages: Very easy to store, easy to assemble, gives kids hours of fun
Disadvantages: None

...We brought our son a pop up playtent from a mail order catalogue, just over a year ago, and he just loves it. It is an action man tent, very safe and well made, and he often plays with it for hours, either in his bedroom or out in the garden (weather permitting). He has even slept in it on some nights (in his room). The good thing about these is that they are very real-like, and with one twist they are packed away! So, for something that took up loads of room one minute, has now been slid under the bed, or hung up in it's carry case behind the door. I have now seen that they make an assortment of these play tents, and they range in price. The action man tent has remained the same price (19.99), but prices now start from as little as £14.75 for the smaller person. Recommended age starts from 3, although playing...

The Red Tent is... red, and a tent!

Advantages: A fantastic story
Disadvantages: Quite female focused, not really a bloke book.

Anita Diamant takes the story of Dinah, mentioned only in passing in the bible, and develops it. The result is largely an imaginative work of fiction, however, it is deeply rooted in information from other sources. For example, Joseph's time in Egypt is included, and other stories about Jacob, such as his difficult relationship with his brother Esau. The Red Tent is therefore deeply plausible as a narrative. There are no details that jar, or suspend...

TENT; 3 poles and you're up! room for 3 little ones? vaude campo

Advantages: Light weight ,extremely quick and easy to put up and take down .
Disadvantages: not sure how to stay warm .but thats not the tents fault!

I've had this tent for a couple of years now well more like 4-5 years. At the time of purchase you could get in in Argos for about £160.00 but I managed to get it sent from a German supplier who was selling them on eBay . It cost about £104.00 in all including p+p. Review of Vaude Campo 3 Man Dome Tent

Tents and 2 children under 3- what a match

Advantages: Easy and straight forward to erect.
Disadvantages: Not suitable for a larger family.

...Not- is the continuation of the title, especially when its your first time camping with them, Callum 2 years 8 months and Lucy 10mths (fast crawler!). This was also the first time my husband had put up this tent, and it was late and we were both tired hungry and irritable and so were the kids. Now add windy to this scene as well and me having to hold on to the tent whilst hubby knocks in the pegs and if I had been watchinh instead of doing then I would probably have been in hysterics. We booked for 4 days and 3 nights into a hotel in Paris. 4 days and 3 nights later we were back at our respective homes, still talking to one another, still happy together and with no blood spilt, talking about how we really ought to do it again. ...We bought a pop up UV resistant tent for our two children before going to Tenerife. The fun of having a tent at the poolside was only enhanced by the fact that all the other children wanted to be in too. The children were oblivious to the fact that this was a safety device and just thought it was a toy. The model we chose was from Argos and it's main advantage was that it was so simple to use, light to carry in the suitcase and needed no poles. We have used it frequently at home in the garden and will get many years of use from it....

Review of Play Tents

A very light small tent

Advantages: small and therefore warm, light, easy to put ip
Disadvantages: little headroom, not good in extreme cold

...A very good tent indeed. I have used this tent on many 2,3,4 and 5 day trips and it has prooved very good. It is easy to assemble with only 2 poles and can easily be done by one person in only 3-4 minutes. I have also put mine up in gale fore winds with driving rain at 2 in the morning on Dartmoor. It is also very spacious and when hiking it is perfect for 2 people and all their kit. I was also pleasantly surprised by the fact that the tent does not create much condensation, in fact very little and the numerous inside pockets and twin vestibule areas are very useful for essential kit and cookin, respectively. The tent is also very light at under 5lb it makes little impression on your pack. It also has another advantage of being used as a single sheet tent, prefect for on the beach or just as a sun shelter. One minor disadvantage is that...
