...There?s already a category on Ciao for a ?day in the life?, but like many I?m sure I don?t really have such a thing as a typical day. Every day of my week is constantly different, revolving around classes and deadlines. Hence I decided to share a whole week with all you lucky people? (Oh, plus I had to write this diary thing for college anyway, but it?s here slightly revised and expanded!) Sunday 07/11/04 I?m attending a conference in the Philosophy Faculty this weekend. Only went to a couple of talks yesterday, but go to all four today (11-12:30, 2-3:30, 4-5:30 and 6-7:30). Don?t meet many people because it?s mostly just those from Oxford, but get a free sandwich lunch. Unfortunately I snap the key to my bike lock in the college cycle sheds (the second this term!) and I have to come home and do some reading afterwards (I think...

Review of A Week in the Life of...

You see us in the simplest terms...

...bad boy - rude, aggressive, and with a blatant disregard for rules and regulations, we still manage to see the underlying issues that have perhaps led to this behaviour . He also has a lot of great lines, including most of the swearing! The film is enhanced by some classic 80's music - lots of synthesizers and drums! Waiting , by Elizabeth Daily is a great tune, as is 'Don't you forget about me' by simple minds . While the fashions in this movie may date, the points the film makes never will - it's a wonderful film about how we perceive others, and ourselves "in the simplest terms, in the most convenient definitions. " and I think that there's a moral in this film - to not be so quick to judge others based on social stereotypes, but to get to know someone before making judgement . A Contradiction in Terms?

Advantages: An amusing book to pass time with
Disadvantages: Great literature it aint

...This book really needs to be reviewed on it's own terms because it's not pretending to be anything more than it is: it's a light-hearted, enjoyable, fluffy read to pass time with. It won't change your life and probably won't even change your opinions of call girls. It's the sequel to Diary of a Mnahattan Call Girl and follows on in pretty much the same vein. Nancy is now a newly-wed who keeps her occupation secret from her husband, her family and - of course - his family. She is subletting her appartment (illegally) to a fellow hooker so that she can, um, 'entertain' clients there when the other girl isn't using it. ...I've been reading a few of the reviews written in this category and also the comments made. There seems to be two schools of thought in this one, the first based on faith and the second based on evidence. However there also seem to be people who think that faith should be backed up by evidence. *Faith* Faith is described by the Oxford Dictionary as "complete trust or confidence". To my view if you are presented with evidence to prove a point you then KNOW this to be true rather than TRUST it. To that end by it's very definition faith cannot be backed up by evidence. For over 2,000 years Christians all over the world have believed in Heaven and Hell. There is not a shred of evidence to prove that if you lead a good life you go to heaven and vice versa. Streets ahead in terms of design

...?t actually ever visited it, but I?m sure it?s just the same as the Flash site without the animations - isn?t that what non-Flash versions are all about? Anyway, you load up the Flash version, and then you?re treated to a nice animation which makes you certain that downloading Shockwave Flash was worth the effort after all. After we?ve got through all the intro, we?re presented with a nice Lionhead logo again, and we can choose from the main Black & White site and a whole host of other options including News & Views, Softwear, Chat and Diaries. All are well-maintained and comprehensive parts of the site in their own right. And another thing I applaud loudly is the fact that they have links to the FANS sites too, a factor sadly lacking from most companies sites - you can see what the fans think of B&W too, and some of their sites are great too...

Well probably because its cheap, small and readily available. However, I'm going to go against the grain and say that I don't actually think that Vaseline does its job that well. Here's why. PACKAGING AND PRICE The Vaseline Lip Therapy now comes in three varieties: the original petrolium jelly (blue); aloe vera (green) and sun protection (yellow). I've got the blue and green varieties. Advantages: wonderful acting, good story and great scene variation, nice town also
Disadvantages: the ending was predictable based on characterisation

...amazed me most. this film has a lot of positives in that the variations of the actors roles makes it interesting. the only actor i found to be consistent in acting terms was Jimmy?s use of cussing, insulting, hard talking words. ken is rather a stereotypical older actor, stern faced, and glum, though he is another that can act in this gun man role. the ending which I will not give away, the killing's seemed to be done based on ethical choice, though it is slightly predictable as to what happens. conclusion whilst i found the story to be not that original, i felt that the film is really well acted, provides variation in emotions of sadness, death, guilt, with moments of half funny lines, and some very dark humour. as such i have rated this film four stars as it is a better film compared to the hitman, and also the directors...
