In this iconic role, the tight-lipped, square-headed Austrian warped into the minds of many 80s youths, such as myself, and made us truly believe there are killer robots aiming to wipe out our existence in the near future. Advantages: Nice action, Sotryline is awesome .

...One may term this movie as one of the best classic movie every created in the history of Hollywood. Considering the era in which it was created and the amount or realistic graphics put in the movie, no doubt it attracted audiences from all around the world and got loads and loads of appreciation. The story begins with a garbage truck. Its late in the night and the truck is emptying itself and doing its daily work. All of a sudden, lightning and flashes start to appear. There's a big sudden flash of light and there he is, Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger) completely naked, lol: He comes across a group of punk rockers, lead by a very young leader and kills them when they refuse his demand to give him their clothes. Meanwhile, in another part of town, the lightning arcs again and future soldier Kyle Reese drops down to the pavement...

...Ive always long had been a fan of the terminator franchise, owning all three DVD's. Been to see the ride at Universal Studios etc, I could watch these films countless number of times. This review is on the first terminator film, were the saga first started and where this epic film set a standard for future sci- fi films. The film truly is a part of cinematic history, not largely due to its script, but for its direction, its sci-fi action sequences and its character performances. For a film that was made in 1984 it's got some awesome special effects. The film was directed and in part co written by the brilliant James Cameron, who really set a high standard, his vision and imagination, really makes this film magnificent to watch, whilst at the same time, even twenty years after its release you could still watch it in amazement. Franchise Status: Terminated.

Advantages: Some visually entertaining if unengaging special effects
Disadvantages: Terrible dialogue, direction, plot and acting, Unoriginal, dull and unengaging.

...First of all let me start off by saying that Terminator 1 and 2 are amongst my favourite films, and I even found T3, whilst not of nearly the same calibre, to be an enjoyable enough film. I've always found the Terminator universe's combination of nuclear armaggeddon, giant machinegun-wielding metal skeletons, tense, fast-paced plots, timetravel, fantastic gun battles and car chases and apocalyptic landscapes strewn with the skulls of untold millions to be utterly intoxicating, so it would take a seriously bad film to curtail my interest in the franchise. Enter pretentiously named hack-director "McG" and his team of Hollywood cretins....... The Terminal rocks!

Advantages: terrific Tom hanks performance,charming and moving story
Disadvantages: Catherine Zeta jones not too convincing

...The Terminal is acclaimed director Steven spiebergs 22nd film and also one of his best.Consdering that most of his films[Jaws,ET,Schilnders list] are classics,it shows just how good the Terminal is.His last 2 films both in the scifi genre AI[2001] and minority report[2002] were both intense and heavy going in places.However in the terminal Spieberg has lightened the tone without losing the serious side of the story.He has also added some nice humour which makes the film very enjoyable. Advantages: action scenes are top notch

...I have to admit I came to this film a bit unsure. In my mind Terminator means Arnie, and vice versa. Still, Andrew wanted to watch it, so we gave it a go. First off, the storyline is pretty confusing. It involves a mix of being set in the past and the future and having some characters either from past or future depending on who you believe. Some scenes take place in 2003, whilst the majority of the film is in 2018. Even after reading the IMDB.com explanation, it's still pretty confusing, so that's point number one: this has a confusing plot. If you're one of those people who struggles to keep up with difficult plots, then give it a miss! What I can say is that it basically revolves around John Connor taking on Skynet, and attempting to rescue a child version of his dad at the same time, whilst trying to work out whether he can...

Advantages: Non-stop action. Arnie IS the Terminator.
