As far as I am concerned what I look for is a good atmosphere, a good menu selection, good value for money, friendly and helpful staff, but mainly it needs to be a restaurant that I want to visit again, and again. This is certainly the case with Verdes Ristorante and Pizzeria which has been a popular family run restaurant in Lancaster for many years. The restaurant is situated in the centre of town in Church Street, it's open seven days a week from 11.30am to 10.30pm for meals or just a tea or coffee. Eastern Liguria: Cinque Terre ( I lived there!)

Advantages: Beatiful places
Disadvantages: not live there

...Since I lived in the province of La Spezia, it is time for me to speak of our treasures. The most famous is certainly the land called Cinque Terre. The name derives from the fact that their territory is made up of 5 countries. Going from La Spezia to Genoa you will find Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso. These villages perched on steep slopes overlooking the sea. The only exception is Monterosso, the largest of the 5 that has a thin flat strip that ends with a beautiful beach. The economy of the Cinque Terre has always been based on two areas: fisheries and agriculture. It 's just the last one that has given rise to the spectacular scenery of the Cinque Terre in the wilderness merges with the work in human terraces overlooking the sea. Hotel Monte Verde

Advantages: Very Clean

...In October 2006 I went on an all-inclusive holiday for one week to Porto Cristo on the east coast of Majorca (Mallorca). I stayed in a hotel called the Monte Verde. It cost me £169 and I will now share my experiences of this hotel with you. The Monte Verde Hotel was built in 1969 and was fully refurbished during the winter of 2000. The Monte Verde has a total of 140 rooms that are built over 7 floors. When I pulled up to The Monte Verde I was not very impressed with the look of the hotel, it looked like a block of flats and was similar to some of the housing around Porto Cristo, which looked a bit basic and old fashioned. However The Monte Verde is only a 2 star hotel so I was not expecting too much. Upon arriving inside at around midnight Majorcan time (+1 hour GMT), I was surprised to find nobody at the 24-hour front desk. I...

...I won't repeat what has already been said about Cinque Terre (5T). All the detail is already there. Instead, I thought I'd post some of my impressions of it. Firstly, the scenery is breath-taking. I'm a pretty well-travelled kind of guy but I can't think of many places that can match the awesome beauty of this part of the Ligurian coast. I'm talking about the mountains, the cliffs, the little coves, the sea and the beautiful villages themselves that look so picturesque both from a distance and up close when you're walking around them. Secondly, I was surprised at how reasonable the prices were. We paid ?1 for two 250 ml bottles of water - I was expecting to pay triple that. Going down, down...deeper and down

Advantages: Interesting and informative tour of volcanic lava tunnels and caverns. Unspoilt attraction developed to be in harmony with environment. Stunning optical illusion.
Disadvantages: Hard to get to without transportation. Not suitable for very young, elderly or infirm. No catering outlet or much in the way of onsite facilities.

...Cinque Terre literally means five lands. Twelve miles of very rocky shoreline weave its way along the top left hand of Italy in the Ligurian coast just west of La Spezia.
