Carrot Soup for Budding Bunnies...
Review of Tesco Carrot and Coriander Soup by
phoenixgreen
Advantages: Tastes wonderful, is very filling and nutritious and not expensive...
Disadvantages: Having to share it...?
...*****Tesco Carrot and Coriander Soup*****
*****The Humble Carrot*****
In case you didn’t know already, carrots are really good for you. The health benefits of carrots have been heralded with the dawn since Greek and Roman times, and as far as how fantastic they are, nothing much has changed about them since then.
Carrots are orange because they’re full of beta-carotene, hence the lovely title of CARROTS. And whether you’re a budding Bugs Bunny, or just a regular normal rabbit, carrots can make a big difference in how you feel. Let me tell you a little about the humble carrot…..
…did you know that carrots help protect you from all sorts of cancers? They have been proven to help fight off Listeria and other food poisoning type bugs. They lower your cholesterol, and boost the immune system. They can help with alleviating...

Soup for Snobs
Review of Tesco Value Cream of Tomato Soup by
Sally3
Advantages: Cheap, cheap - oh and yummy too.
Disadvantages: No ring pull on can
...I must admit, I didn't think I'd find myself writing a review about a can of soup - much less a Tesco Value one.
To me, a tin of soup is, well, a tin of soup. Something that can make a busy day run a little smoother; ideal for when you need a quick, hot lunch with only a couple of minutes to prepare it.
But I like to give credit where it’s due, and today I’m giving it to those fine Tesco chefs who’ve been slaving away in their kitchens, inventing it-tastes-exactly-like-the-main-brand-so-you-won’t-know-the-difference goodies.
I’m not one for canned food normally, but sometimes I’ll whip out a tin if I’m in a hurry or just feeling plain lazy. Today I was feeling inertia to the point of horizontalness, and with the return of the wet and windy weather I just fancied a bowl of tomato soup...

Winter warming tomato soup
Review of Tesco Value Cream of Tomato Soup by
mumsymary
Advantages: cheap tasty
Disadvantages: none
...Tomato soup tesco.
Well you may have heard that I am reduced to a microwave and a toaster for cooking meals as the kitchen is out of action due to extension work. I need to find things I can cook for meals and snacks easily.
Its cold the mornings are frosty winter is on its way I have no central heating at the moment its cold in my house.
What can I have for lunch to warm me up? I know some soup. What soup have I got? Value soup ok I am trying not to spend much money got a builder to pay. Tesco value cream of tomato only costs.p19p.for 400g
The can is hard to identify with all the other value cans around as it is the same blue and white with red writing as all the other value cans, just as well I can read.
. I have a microwave as my cooking appliance at the mo no cooker. I need a tin opener now where did I put it? I know...

To soup or not to soup
Review of Tesco Golden Vegetable 60 Calorie Soup in a Cup by
Justine
Advantages: Next to no calories fat or anything else!
Disadvantages: Next to no taste.....
...Tesco's own brand products are, in my humble opinion, generally quite good. In an attempt to stop myself snacking my way through the day, I had tried a number of packet soups with few calories. This is one of them.
Price wise, these soups are very reasonable. A box of four 17g servings is less than a pound (forgive the lack of accurate price - it's been a while!).
Packaging wise, your four sachets of soup come in a cardboard box slightly bigger than an individual cereal packet - fit in the cupboard quite nicely, but it seems rather excessive for the four small sachets inside. The box displays an attractive steaming mug of soup with 'Soup in a Cup' written in pleasant swirly writing. The tesco logo itself is really very small at the top of the packet. The red banner declaring 60 calories per serving is bigger. Is this yet...

Tesco Tomato and Basil Soup
Review of Tesco Tomato and Basil Soup by
Cobbychops
Advantages: It's convenient to store once the contents are opened because of the plastic container
Disadvantages: Perhaps a little pricey
...I found this soup to be thick, chunky and tasty. It had a lovely fresh aroma which wasn't too overpowering. The taste was just right, not too sharp, but with a lovely tomato taste with the right amount of seasoning. It was lovely with some freshly baked and buttered bread. I thought the contents were generous, plenty for two people. The soup itself is nice and chunky, with tomatos that tasted fresh. It's quite a filling soup, and although perhaps it is a little pricey, it's so nice that you could actually pass it as home made! Some tomato soups can be a little sharp tasting, leaving that nasty "tang" at the back of your throat. Not so with this soup. Thumbs up from me every time. I also like the fact that I can easily store the remainder in the fridge in its plastic container....

Not just a run of the mill soup
Review of Tesco Tomato and Basil Soup by
Rachie_pachie
Advantages: It tastes good, you can get 2 servings out of it
Disadvantages: The lid is a little difficult to open
...Apparently I’m gorgeous the way I am. I don’t think so though, being overweight is something that has troubled me for years. For the past 3 years I have tried diet after diet, none of them have worked for me. They just made me ill. Lianne doesn’t believe in dieting anyway, so she suggested plenty of exercise and a healthy eating plan. Hark listen her, who eats Pot Noodles. Anyway, for the most part she is a fit chick, so I’ve taken her advice and now go running with her every other day, or take the dog for a long walk which is usually Lianne’s job.
What has this got to do with soup? you may be thinking. Well instead of skipping lunch and eating a large meal for tea, Lianne suggests eating little and often. So without further ado, let me get on with my opinion on this soup.
Usually I shop at Morrisons or Asda, but a new Tesco has...

Recreate Covent Garden Soups
Review of Book of Soups by
helencbradshaw
Advantages: recreate your favourites
Disadvantages: None
...; WONDERFUL
-------------
Well, the book begins with probably the most famous soup, the Carrot and Coriander, which was the first fresh soup that was sold by the company. Oh heaven. Another favourite is Roasted Vegetable Soup with Basil Puree, but the recipe for this is slightly more complicated, as you need to roast the veggies first! There is also a recipe for the Wild Mushroom Soup, also on sale in the shops.
Chapter Two – UNUSUAL
--------------
The first recipe is for Callaloo soup with Coconut, a Caribbean recipe. But first you had better check if your local Tesco sells Callaloo’s! However, if they don’t, try the New Zealand Kumara, which is sweet potato chowder. There is also a recipe for Aussie Roo soup; again speak to Tesco's for the Roo; apparently it is for sale quite widely in the UK. For Scottish Readers...

A Very Expensive way to Buy Soup
Review of Heinz Cream of Tomato Soup by
confusion
Advantages: A microwaveable cup for only 46p
Disadvantages: Everything else except the soup itself
...It comes in the usual bright red branding of Heinz Cream of Tomato Soup, its microwaveable, in its own plastic drinking cup, with a lid that wouldn’t be out of place in Costa Coffee shop (except its bright red) so what exactly is it? That was the question I asked myself when those nice friendly people at Heinz emailed me a 20p off offer coupon with their monthly newsletter.
Being a devoted Ciao–er I had to find out more and report back to my devoted reader(s) (thanks daughter) - so it was added to the weekly shopping list and off to the shops. Eventually I found it amongst the cup-a-soups in Tesco and into the trolley it went along with some normal tins of the same soup. I’m sure the pack didn’t realise the analysis it was about to go through!
Now in addition to the Cream of Tomato Soup the range includes Sun Dried Tomato...

Chicken soup like mother used to make
Review of Covent Garden Soup Company by
rory7411
Advantages: Great taste, fresh ingredients, no additives
Disadvantages: Price
...OUR BEST CHICKEN SOUP is one I found in my local Tesco's last month. They were doing a BOGOF offer and though normally Chicken Soup isn't one I'd automatically buy as I've always found them a bit bland tasting, I can't resist a good offer so I grabbed this.
Any one familiar with the Covent Garden Soup range will know that they have a generic packaging, like a cardboard milk carton, with the company name and picture of the main soup ingredients on the front, heating instructions and ingredients on the side and information about the company's soups on the back. This one was a white carton with an appetising whole roast chicken on the front, proclaiming " Our Best Chicken Soup " and " All Natural Ingredients ".
This soup had a good use by date on it, about 2 weeks, and like all fresh soups should be stored refrigerated and eaten...

want a Hug in a Mug or soup in a mug?
Review of Batchelors Cup A Soup by
angiebabyqueen
Advantages: delicious, cheap and low in calories
Disadvantages: not any really....I don't think.....
...At the moment, there is a bug going round our town, and luckily, as of yet I have not caught it. Having felt a little under the weather in the last couple of days, I have decided to stick to soup to try and help me feel a little better. I went down to Tesco and picked up a cup a soup broccoli and cauliflower flavour. Having had this once before, and remembering that I enjoyed it, I thought I would try it again and found that I have, so in detail, I am going to tell you about this soup.
The packaging
At this moment in time, I am looking straight at a 4 sachet packet of broccoli and cauliflower cup a soup. In the cup a soup range however, you can get serving jars with 12 serving's worth within the jar. In the last year or so, the package design has changed and has become more modern and funky in my opinion. On the front in funky...
