Chocolate Break by Tesco.
Review of Tesco Chocolate Break by
spottydog2
Advantages: Tasty, thick chocolate.
Disadvantages: Can eat too many.
...I have only recently started buying the Tesco Chocolate Break and have been very impressed with them. I am constantly keeping the cupboard stocked with snacks (though I do eat healthily, honest!) for my family (and me occassionally) and am always looking for something new and more importantly, cheap. There are lots of chocolate snacks on the market, most places offer a variety, it can be very difficult to choose. I tend to change my selection regularly, but the Tesco Chocolate Break has remained a firm favourite.
What first attracted me to Tesco Chocolate Break?

Whilst scanning the shelves, I have to be truthful and admit that the price was one of the first things that drew me to the Tesco Chocolate Breaks. They were around 63p for 8 which I thought...

* TESCO VALUE INSTANT HOT CHOCOLATE DRINK *
***********************************************************
Every month or so my older sister who i have recently started lodging with will log on to Tesco's website to do the "Big Shop".
With a total of 4 people in the household including my niece - the perpetual eating machine known as a child, and the lack of a car, my sister is pretty much forced to use Tescos home delivery service.
She gets the same old stuff every month and i dont really pay much attention as long as it tastes good and keeps my hunger at bay..
Last night i was sat surfing the net, r/r/c'ing people, listening to music, the normal, when thirst struck! I craved something nice, something hot; i was bored of Horlicks, i couldnt be bothered to make...

Have a break…Have a Chocolate Break
Review of Tesco Chocolate Break by
VC81
Advantages: cheap, tasty, comes in a variety of flavours
Disadvantages: high sugar content, below par wafer
...Chocolate Break is a chocolate covered wafer finger biscuit made by Tesco. In a blatant attempt to cash in on the nation's love of the Kit Kat, Tesco have actually managed to usurp the brand name competition to produce an alternative, which is not only cheaper, but also far tastier.
The Vital Statistics
There are three types of Chocolate Break:
* Plain chocolate - twin-fingered, 60p for a pack of eight. These are the type I am going to focus on in this review.
* Mint flavoured dark chocolate - twin-fingered, 60p for a pack of eight.
* Milk chocolate - four-fingered monoliths, four in a pack for 79p. On the Tesco website these are also available as Milk Chocolate Break Minis, a fun sized version of the above for £1.19. However, it is impossible tell how large they actually are and how many come in the pack.
Each finger is 9...

Tesco Triple Chocolate Gateau
Review of Tesco Triple Chocolate Gateau by
macteykith
Advantages: yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Disadvantages: fattening, hard to find in small size
...Firstly let me say one word:
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Ok, and that sums this up!
Triple chocolate is never a bad thing. Of course its a gateau so already you think artificial tasting but this actually isnt that bad.
The chocolate in the middle is thick icing sugar style filling, very creamy and very chocolatey, if you like dark chocolate youll love this.
The cake itself is a chocolate sponge, but theres no chocolate taste, its simply the colour of it. Taste wise its like a plain sponge, though it doesnt taste homemade it doesnt taste too much like a sponge you would use to do the bathing with either !
Next you have chocolate foamy icing around the edges and top. Its nice, but its like a melted down aero without the body to it. This is the most artificial...

Chocolate extravaganza!
Review of Tesco Chocolate Happy Birthday Cake by
SweetTooth93
Advantages: Gorgeous taste, price etc
Disadvantages: Only available in Tesco!
...What makes a birthday? Is is the presents? The family gathering? The party? No, well, for some a birthday is all about the cake!
It's my brother's birthday today, and lucky for him (and me!?), he had a family party last night, and today he's having a party with his friends. Two parties can only mean one thing...Two cakes!!
I myself am not a huge fan of cakes, and if I do tuck into a slice I'd much prefer it was a plain sponge cake with a jam and cream filling! Sadly, my brothers have different tastes to me, and the first cake that was going to be indulged in last night was "Tesco Chocolate Happy Birthday Cake".
We set out two days before the family party in search of a cake to suit everybody. (Apart from me, may I add!?) After much deliberation, and input from me, which sadly went unnoticed, my brother decided on the creamy...

Another Tesco Value Success!
Review of Tesco Value Milk Chocolate Digestives by
danmclovin
Advantages: Great tasting, cheap!
Disadvantages: Faultless!
...I've been experimenting with Tesco value products for some time now, since the prices of basically everything has been going up, and have found the value range a good way to cut costs in the supermarket. I've been very pleased with the majority of Tesco value items that I have bought, not at all what I expected, and the Tesco Value Milk Chocolate Digestives are no exeption.
The Tesco Value Milk Chocolate Digestives are made from wheat flour, milk chocolate (23%), vegetable oil, sugar, wholemeal wheat flour, glucose-fructose syrup, raising agents and salt. Each biscuit contains 85 calories (4% of your recommended daily allowance), 4.5g of sugar (5%), 3.9g of fat (6%) and 0.1g of salt (2%).
The Tesco value biscuits come in 300g packs, which contains 19 biscuits each. They are packed in a thin plactic film, which is coloured...

Tescos value is GOOD value
Review of Tesco Value Plain Chocolate by
sillyssally
Advantages: it is cheap and good for cooking
Disadvantages: it only comes in big bars
...Tescos is the nearest supermarket to us. It is cheaper than the little local shops like the late shop and the spar so we usually shop there. When I was younger we did not have much money and now that we do have more I always forget that we do and still look for bargains. This bar is one of those bargains.
THE PACKGING
All the Tescos value products look the same so you can recognize them quickly and easily I think. The paper covering the bar is white and has on it a red and blue design and the words for the brand Tesco value and the product Plain chocolate and the size 100g. It also has on it the words that quality is guaranteed. This is all on the front and on the back are ingredients for the bar and other useful stuff like if you do not like it what you should do (take it BACK and make a BIG FUSS)
THE BAR
Plain chocolate...

Chocolate Concrete
Review of Tesco Finest Belgium Chocolate Tiffin by
mrsmopples
Advantages: The packet can be recycled
Disadvantages: Tastes foul, waste of your money.
...Having a sweet tooth, I noticed from the online directory, that Tesco.com had some new items for sale in the biscuits/cakes category. When I saw the name "Belgian Chocolate Tiffin Squares", I knew I had to click on it and see it enter my virtual shopping bag. As it was from the "Finest" range I was already under the misconception that it was going to be delicious.
Tiffin has been around for centuries and used to be known as Chocolate Concrete and Chocolate Rocks. Very satisfying and also quite sickly if eaten in large quantities, this makes a great lunch box filler or evening treat. Not recommended to consume each day.
Anyway, back to Tesco, ordering online has many pros but also a few cons. In this instance it was not being able to inspect the box personally. On the screen, the box looks quite substantial but in reality...

A Chocolate Lovers Heaven
Review of Tesco Finest Chocolate Brownie Sundae by
rowei
Advantages: Sweet, chocolatey, creamy, nice range of textures
Disadvantages: Normally quite expensive, quite sickly
...I popped into Tesco after work today and found, to my delight, that they had their whole Finest* range at 20% off. My eyes actually lit up when I saw my favourite Chocolate Brownie Sundaes down to £1.59 from £1.99! This represents a good saving and, for anyone with a sweet tooth, like me, Tesco Finest* Chocolate Brownie Sundaes are simply irrisistible.
In most Tesco stores, Chocolate Brownie Sundaes are located alongside the other yogurts and chilled items. Because they are part of the Finest* range, you will see other posh desserts, like profiteroles and sherry trifle, in the same area.
THE PRODUCT
'Outrageously indulgent' is how the product label describes this dessert and I could not agree more. It is made from several different layers of milk and white chocolate-flavoured mousses, a layer of chocolate fudge sauce...

chocolate + cheesecake = moreish!
Review of Tesco Chocolate Brownie Cheesecake by
angiebabyqueen
Advantages: definietly yummy and moreish!
Disadvantages: sorry to all you on diets out there reading this right now!
...Yum….a Friday night alone in the house, just me my computer…oh and a chocolate brownie dessert... if you hadn't already seen the product I'm review, you may have guessed where this review is going to go. Yes another food review. Well I can't help it if I'm in the mood for trying out new food ideas that I have never come across before. So walking up to my nearest Tesco express, I decide to buy a cheesecake. But not any old cheesecake… a chocolate brownie cheesecake which I have never seen in my life before. Delicious. I can't wait to tuck in now - see what I do for you lot out there? I wait around, reviewing the product before the taste test, so I can't wait until then, but hey, time passes by very quickly.
The packaging
As always, I tell you people out there what I think of the packaging, and what you can look out for...
