Tesco Finest Profiteroles.
Review of Tesco Finest Profiterole Dessert by
SweetTooth93
Advantages: Cold flaky chaux pastry, cold creamy smooth cream, delicious creamy yet sweet chocolate.
Disadvantages: Addictive and calorie-ridden.
...If you have read my reviews before you will probably have relized i like most food, espescially sweet things and desserts.
In tescos today, i wandered off by myself as i was bored, and my mum said if i saw anything bring it back and put it in the trolley, i automatically wandered off to the pick and mix, and after stuffing a bag full of £5 worth of chewy and chocolaty sweets i decided to wander back to my mum, obviously taking the route that takes me past the mouth watering desserts aisle.
I wasn't planning on having a look, after all our trolley was already stuffed full of chocolaty, toffee and all kinds of desserts and items from the bakery, but something caught my eye.. TESCO FINEST PROFITEROLE DESSERT.
The dessert was in a plastic container with a tesco finest label wrapped around. It looked quite yummy sitting...

Why can't all desserts be this Simple?!
Review of Muller Simply Desserts Blackcurrant Cheesecake by
zainabm
Advantages: Not very fatty, filling, nice topping, great yoghurt
Disadvantages: Not sweet enough
...Muller Simply Desserts are a range of desserts (Apricot Tart, Strawberry Shortcake and Blackcurrant Cheesecake) from Muller containing less then 5% fat making them a good alternative to other fatty desserts.
The Blackcurrant Cheesecake dessert comes in a 2 x 145g pack. I purchased mine for £1 on special offer from Tesco. Normal price is about £1.30 and is also available from Sainsbury's and Asda. The container comes in two transparent plastic pots, both with foil lids. The bottom part contains the yoghurt and compote and the smaller top part contains the crunchy dessert topping.
So what is the dessert?
Simply, it is a layer of blackcurrant compote (with real blackcurrants) at the bottom with Greek style yoghurt on the top. There is probably about a quarter of the compote to three quarters of yoghurt. A separate container holds...

Desserted by milk
Review of Provamel Desserts by
Elffriend
Advantages: free from just about anything except taste
Disadvantages: more please
...Like most people, I discovered these heavenly desserts as I have a milk allergy.
It's so hard to find good things to eat, so I'm allways on the lookout for new products.
I have been enjoying these for years, initally you had very little choice, but the last few years has seen a growth in this market. Now you can get a variety of flavours, although my local Tesco only sells the main four, Vanilla, chocolate, caramel and fruits of the forest.
I have only ever come across the four pack, unfortunately, they are all the same variety. A pity there was'nt four different flavours per pack.
Luckily, these have a long shelf life, at least six months and only need putting in the fridge for a few hours before eating.
You could do a bulk shop and get a mixture of varieties, I don't think they would last long though.
Having tried most flavours...

Summer Puddings and Cheesecakes? Dessert Allsorts!
Review of Bassett's Dessert Allsorts by
jesi
Advantages: Does contain some chocolate (if you're lucky)! Familiar shapes! Pleasant pastel colours like dolly mixture.
Disadvantages: No liquorice/coconut, contains milk; cochineal/gelatin not suitable for vegetarians. Not all flavours appear.
...taste.

VERDICT
I don't expect I will buy these very often, even though they are currently (as at 8th July 2006) only 49p a 200g pack at ASDA. Incidentally, so are the "Jelly Babies" of all varieties and the "Fruit Allsorts" in the e215g bags instead of the normal 98p ASDA price. I wish they had included the ORIGINAL ALLSORTS in that Special Offer!
The "Fruit Allsorts" and "Dessert Allsorts" are currently BOGOF at TESCO for £1.12
Picking food apart isn't really my preferred way to eat sweets, and the only bits I really liked (besides the chocolate) were the purple fondant layers from the "Summer Fruit Pudding" and the "Lemon Pie" outer fondant layer (and even THESE might contain milk).
As you have no idea how much of any one sweet you might find...

Yummy Provamel non-dairy desserts
Review of Provamel Desserts by
Patience13
Advantages: Suitable for anyone avoiding dairy produce and very tasty
Disadvantages: None that I can think of
...Since having to give up all dairy produce, I am constantly on the look-out for tasty treats! Having discovered Provamel Soya Desserts, I am totally hooked. At first, it was a matter of being able to purchase Vanilla or Chocolate flavour in 500ml cartons from places like Holland and Barrett. Now, however, you can get the packs of four small (125gm) pots from all sorts of places, including Tesco's and Sainsbury's.
As far as I can make out there are seven flavours, though my own Tesco's only seems to stock Fruits of the Forest, Fruits of the Orchard, Chocolate, Vanilla and Caramel. The two that I would really like to try - Hazelnut and Moka - elude me so far!
The different flavours vary in nutritional values slightly, but as a guide here are the typical values per 100g for the caramel flavour (my favourite!):

Whipped Cream and Nuts for Dessert
Review of Tesco Creamy Caramella Ice Cream by
Lizard_Lover
Advantages: A rich, creamy, luxury ice cream
Disadvantages: The lid is difficult to remove
...There is such a huge variety of ice cream in our shops and supermarkets at the moment, that I felt spoilt for choice when I visited Tesco recently, looking for a tub of ice cream to put in the freezer.
Tesco have introduced their own range of ice cream, which are similar in appearance to the Carte D’or style of desserts, and are presented in 1 litre flat plastic tubs. At present, Tesco offer four flavours: Chocolatino, Creamy Caramella, Cherrylicious and Vanilleta.
We bought the Creamy Caramella to sample. The ice cream normally retails at £1.77 per tub, but today Tesco had an offer to buy 2 tubs for £3 – at a price like that, I was hardly going to walk past, and not pick a couple of tubs up to bring home! Compare the price of these with a 1 litre tub of Carte D’or, which retail at £2.57, and it is evident how much cheaper...

Low fat... alcohol... dessert... pinch me
Review of Recipes for Desserts by
Shaoon
Advantages: Minimal Fat Content
Disadvantages: Has to be eaten pretty much as soon as made
...My worst nightmare happened not long ago.
A health issue left me pretty much unable to deal with any quantity of fat in food... especially in dairy.
No more ice cream!!!
After about three weeks of eating nothing but steamed turkey and veg with no flavourings at all, I decided to do something about it.
What follows is a simple idea, and probably one that most people in my predicament (and looking for that last resort) will have come up with.
The "No fat" diet allows for an amount of skimmed milk, as the fat content is less than 2% or something equally miniscule.
So i improvised a straightforward ice cream recipes to cheer myself up.
WHAT YOU REQUIRE
Any common or garden ice cream machine
One packet of Tesco's "No Added Sugar", Vanilla Flavoured Delight
1 pint (600ml) of Skimmed milk
WHAT TO DO
The packet...

I'm the Secret Chocolate Thief!!!
Review of Tesco Finest Profiterole Dessert by
pennywa
Advantages: Tasty, creamy, moreish, quite cheap
Disadvantages: none at all
...We often shop at Tesco and when I'm there I always look forward to wandering around the dessert aisle so I can drool over the lovely offerings Tesco have on display. Usually at weekends mum buys a nice 'treat' for us all for after our Sunday lunch. Last weekend it was a toss up between a Tesco Tiramisu or a Tesco Finest Profiterole Dessert. The profiteroles won, hands down, as they are one of my most favourite luxury 'afters'.
I must admit I hadn't spotted this particular dessert in Tesco before, but we have had the Sainsbury's equivalent, and this has gone down very well in our house, so I suspected from the outset that this would not disappoint. Mum said we would probably need two to feed the four of us, I reckoned we'd need one each, but she said as she was probably not going to be having any, there was sure to be enough for me...

My Favourite Desserts... in Yoghurt Form
Review of Weight Watchers Thick & Creamy Dessert Recipe Yogurt by
lizngaz
Advantages: Delicious, filling, low in fat
Disadvantages: none really!
...Having recently decided to try and lose a bit of weight ready for my holiday and the dreaded bikinis that will be involved, I thought the best way to do it would be to get back on the Weight Watchers plan. As a gold member, I know that this eating plan works for me and gives me a lots of healthy options when it comes to choosing what to eat.
Whilst in my local Tesco a week or so back, I noticed the thick & creamy dessert recipe yoghurts at the end of an aisle, and as they were on buy one get one free, I though it was an ideal time to try them out. The pack includes 4 yoghurts, each 120g at a normal cost of £1.49 per pack, which works out at under 38p per yoghurt.
**** Lemon Cheesecake ****
The first yoghurt I decided to try was the lemon cheesecake flavour. It sounded yummy, so when I was looking through the fridge...
