Tesco Loan
Advantages: apply online
Disadvantages: weren't up front about the loan we were been offered
...We applied for a 7.4%25 loan over 10 years. We phoned their loan progress number as we had a time limit to reserve our purchase, and was told our application had sucessfully been accepted. Paperwork came through 5days later and the loan rate had gone upto 9%25 over 7 years £80 dearer a month.
We complained we'd been mislead and they said it states rates may vary on application. I understood that and that would have been fair enough had we been informed we'd been accepted at a different rate / repayment period. We also said we couldn't afford the monthly repayment under the new terms and the guy just kept pushing my husband to take out the loan, he was supposed to be phoning to discuss our complaint. He was very indifferent and at times just rude!
I am very disappointed with tesco as they put us through a lot of needless...

Working for Tesco
Advantages: Good pay, great benefits package
Disadvantages: Crap uniform, crap managers
...above are what I consider to be the most important benefits, however, there are many others including discounted Everyday Health Plan, which covers things like dental and optical treatment, physiotherapy, hospital treatment etc, Dental Cover, Private Medical Insurance, Personal Accident Protection, discounts on Tesco Personal Finance products, discounted tax advice, holiday discounts, gym discounts, and exclusive to staff offers such as £5 off clothing voucher.
Personally, I think the Benefits package Tesco offer is brilliant. The 10% discount is obviously very useful, though I do often forget to hand my card to the person on checkouts, but they're usually good enough to remind me! I receive a benefits report every year, which tells me exactly how much my benefits are worth, which is really helpful, and it was a pleasant surprise to find...

Tesco trains
Advantages: Cheap
Disadvantages: As good as original brands
...Santa bought my four year old the lovely mountain train set made by tesco. He desperately wanted a train set and when we were in Toysrus we would look at the brio sets and then look around the other toys. It was not unitl near to Christmas that I actually decided to look at the price. I was horrified to discover how expensive brio train sets were. I looked in several other shops ELC etc but they too were too expensive. I found a cheap set in ASDA but it did not seem to be compatabile with brio or even near to the quality, so I decided not to buy the train set from there either. When we were shopping in Tescos my son pointed out the train sets and took a real interest in a lovely mpuntain train set which had had a wooden train set, a little bridge, wooden animals, trees, tunnels, trains, carriages, sign and mountains all for £24...

Tesco Loan - slow process
Advantages: easy phone application, friendly staff
Disadvantages: slow postal service
...I recently applied for a home improvement loan with Tesco Personal Finance. I gave all my details over the phone i.e incomings and outgoings and was given a yes in principle at a good rate after they had checked my credit file and credit score.
Then the waiting started ....
It took a week for the paperwork to arrive, I was expecting a first class service. I had to send in original payslips and three months bank statements along with the credit agreement. I paid for it to be returned Special Delivery to ensure a speedy service. The details say you then have to wait 48 hours for a final decision, unfortunately this doesn't include weekends "as the checking department don't work weekends".
I have now been declined as I have apparantly got too many outgoings, despite honestly giving these details in my application. I am now...

Churchwood finance debt problems solved
Advantages: reliable friendly service that really does help
Disadvantages: you have to be working
...a poor credit history I needed some advice so I called up the help line and spoke to my advior he was very helpful he said once most of the debts had gone down and proof of regular payments were being made there are companies that work along side them that would help me finance a morgage with a poor credit history, unfortunatly the house was built on mine shafts so full payment was needed and you would struggle to sell it would be great for renting purposes. I was also told about low cost loans that they offered if I was ever going to think about borrowing money.
Eventually all the creditor stop contacting me and I only receive a few bills now but in almost 3 years my debts have fell from £5000 to £1100. The only reason that these have not been paid off is because I met my current partner and he got made redundant his debts were at £7000...

Tescos
Advantages: Great Value
Disadvantages: Puts local businesses under stress
...Tescos is King of all supermarkets and I think that they are best for value in the long term or in the big shop as well. As a student I have found that the tesco down the road from me is my new home, as opposed to the Centre up the road that can be so expensive some times in comparison.
Tescos sells your average grocerys as well as dvd's and electricals, clothes, office supplies, tobacco and confectionary, alcohol, cards for special occassions and toys. Everything you need seems to almost be in one store, there is also a tesco value line that provides Tescos own products at a cheaper price.
The staff in Tescos are always friendly where I come from in Cookstown, they always help you find something if your not quite sure where it is and always strike up a pleasant conversation at the help desk, though I understand that some...

Lets Go Tesco
Advantages: Excellent APR rates
Disadvantages: None so far
...Having decided that we were to extend our Kitchen also came also the decision of MONEY!! We needed to borrow some money so I had a scout around the Net and came across a few companies that would allow you to use their Online Calculator. This is quite easy to use as you key in either the amount you want to borrow and the amount of years/months or the amount you can afford per month and they calculate the rest for you.
I had wittled them down to Tesco, Barclays, Halifax and HSBC (the two banks as they are baks that we currently deal with and Halifax as we have a mortgage, insurances etc with them too.)
Tesco came out on top without fail. The other three could offer my an APR of approximately 11.9% and Tesco came straight in at 9.6%. Now bearing in mind that I occasionally shop at Tesco, have bought online a couple of times etc...

Tesco a go-go
Advantages: Low APR, Excellent Customer Service
Disadvantages: The whole process can take up to around 10 days.
...All I can really say is that, if you are looking for a loan to buy a car, consolidate existing loans, have a holiday etc, Tesco is definately one of the ones you should seriously consider.
The APR they currently have is 9%, which is fixed for your chosen term, and you'll find that they are quite non-biased as to the purpose for which you need the funds.
Their Customer service is excellent and you will get an agreement in principal there and then.
They will then send you out the paperwork, within a few days, which you'll obviously need to check over and sign. You will also need to send them a recent payslip, three months recent bank statements and a utility bill, which they will forward straight back to you.
The money then should be deposited into your nominated bank account within approximately 5-6 days.
You can pick up...

Tesco supermarket
Advantages: A wide variety of well priced goods
Disadvantages: Toilets maybe need cleaning a little more often
...Tesco plc over the years has become a household name.
A gentleman by the name of Jack Cohen who hailed from East London founded the company in 1919.
The Tesco brand first appeared in 1924,when Jack Cohen bought a shipment of tea from T.E.Stockwell..he combined the first three letters of the name (TES) along with the first tow letters of his own surname (CO ) and formed the word `Tesco`.
Tesco started life as a retailer of food and drink, but recent years have seen Tesco diversify into other areas such as clothing, consumer electronics, financial services,CD`s ,music downloads,Internet service, telecoms, health insurance, dental plans, software and DVD`s.
In 2008 Tesco became the World`s fourth largest retailer, with profits exceeding 2 billion pounds.
The Tesco company employ over 273,000 people.

TESCO
Advantages: Friendlly people, easy job
Disadvantages: pay,staff benefits
...Having worked for Tesco at some point I have an employee and also a customer's perspective.
I was employed when I was 16; it started off as part time work because I was at college. This suited me because my hours were convenient, the pay was good - above the minimum wage, overtime was available at the drop of a hat and it was a really easy job.
For a young person the training was a breeze - everything was easy to pick up and the local store where I worked had friendly older women to guide me through all the millions of questions I asked. (Best way to learn - asking all the questions under the sun)
I was initially trained on checkouts - the system was old but manageable and the main focus was being polite to your customer, offering to pack their bags, building rapport and of course SMILING.
TESCO do monthly checks on you...
