If only everything orange was ice cream
Review of Tesco Finest Valencia Orange Ice Cream by
miniloopie
Advantages: Lucious, creamy, dreamy ice cream
Disadvantages: You'll have to eat the whole pot in one go
...Since today is supposedly going to be the hottest day ever, I thought a nice ice cream review would be just the ticket to keep you all refreshed…
I don’t buy ice cream very often, it doesn’t do much for me dietwise, so it has to be something pretty special to tempt me. Plus it will need to be something a bit different, much as I like the choccie and nutty and caramelly flavours, it can get a bit dull even for a confirmed chocaholic like me. Which brings me to this offering from the Tesco Finest range. It ticks all the boxes - it’s a bit special, its not one of the bog standard flavours and it looks rather impressive too.
The Finest range from Tesco is their premium brand, the affordable posh nosh, and this is where we find the Valencia Orange Ice Cream.
There are others in this range (more later) and all have the distinctive...

Whipped Cream and Nuts for Dessert
Review of Tesco Creamy Caramella Ice Cream by
Lizard_Lover
Advantages: A rich, creamy, luxury ice cream
Disadvantages: The lid is difficult to remove
...There is such a huge variety of ice cream in our shops and supermarkets at the moment, that I felt spoilt for choice when I visited Tesco recently, looking for a tub of ice cream to put in the freezer.
Tesco have introduced their own range of ice cream, which are similar in appearance to the Carte D’or style of desserts, and are presented in 1 litre flat plastic tubs. At present, Tesco offer four flavours: Chocolatino, Creamy Caramella, Cherrylicious and Vanilleta.
We bought the Creamy Caramella to sample. The ice cream normally retails at £1.77 per tub, but today Tesco had an offer to buy 2 tubs for £3 – at a price like that, I was hardly going to walk past, and not pick a couple of tubs up to bring home! Compare the price of these with a 1 litre tub of Carte D’or, which retail at £2.57, and it is evident how much cheaper...

Cream Egg Ice Cream without the Cream Egg taste.
Review of Cadbury Creme Egg Ice Cream (On a stick) by
nat85
Advantages: Different to current ice creams on the market
Disadvantages: Just cause it says Cream Egg, doeant mean that is is.
...I love cream eggs, in fact I love them a bit too much. After easter I buy so many in the clearance sales that Im sick of them by the end of the day, then morning comes and the craving is back!
Cream Eggs sell so well during easter that it makes sence for Cadburys to try and market their product throughout the year. The new Cream Egg Bar was OK, but not as nice as the egg. The Cream Egg ice cream tub was a nice treat but didnt really remind me of the cream egg. So when I was in my local Tesco and I spotted the cream Egg Ice Cream on a stick and thought Id give it a try.
When I buy ice creams, I tend to buy chocolaty ones, mars ice cream or galaxy ice cream. Actually Mars or Galaxy is pretty much all I buy. So the chocolate covered ice cream really apealed to my taste buds. Biting into the chocolate was like biting...

Ice Cream Heaven
Review of Haagen-Dazs Strawberry Cheesecake Ice Cream by
daylehall
Advantages: Creamy ice cream, real strawberry pieces, biscuit pieces
Disadvantages: The price, the calories and fat content!!
...it straight from the freezer as the lid tends to freeze to the tub!). The tub itself is red and gold in colour which is Haagen-Dazs colours. The lid is black and so is the band that runs around the middle of the tub. The Haagen-Dazs logo is written on the front of the tub, and the flavour is written on the black band. There is also a picture of a few strawberries on the front.
Price
I tend to buy this ice cream at Tesco where it costs £3.78 for a 500ml tub so compared to other ice creams, it's a bit more expensive but worth every penny. Occasionally I will buy this ice cream at my local Blockbuster when I am renting a movie and here a 500ml tub costs £5.
Taste
Upon opening the tub, you can see the strawberry and cheesecake pieces mixed in with the ice cream. The ice cream itself is vanilla and is a pale sort of beige colour. The ice...

I scream for ice cream!
Review of Asda Vanilla Ice Cream Rolls by
SweetTooth93
Advantages: Tasty, fairly cheap, not to high in calories/fat
Disadvantages: Not very healthy
...for vegetarians! This can only be a positive? Although suitable for vegetarians, they are not suitable for vegans and such like, due to the fact that the ingrediants contain milk! The ice cream rolls may also contain traces of nuts!
For two ice cream rolls, the price is average in my opinion! £1.69. This means that each ice cream roll works out at roughly 84p. Considering ice cream lollies retail at around £1, this is quite a decent price! Obviously since these are Asda's own brand, they can not be found anywhere else. However I am quite sure Tesco/Morrisons etc sells the equivalent!
**
That evening after tea, I decided for my pudding I'd sample the ice cream rolls! Along with my ice cream, I served up some strawberry jelly- hoping it wouldn't clash too much! I opened the cardboard box and retrieved one of the two rolls! Each single roll...

All Scream for Ice Cream
Review of Smarties Ice Cream by
stuleg
Advantages: Cheap if you shop around
Disadvantages: An awful lot of "E" numbers
..., Sodium 1 gram.
In ASDA, Nestle Smarties Ice Cream costs £1.98. I have also seen it for £2.49 in Tesco, but as this was on a “Buy One Get One Free offer” in reality it was £1.25 a tub. The secret, as always is to shop around. £1.98 poorer, I left ASDA and travelled home with my new found dessert. This took about 15 minutes which should render the Ice Cream nicely softened by the time I got home, and it did.
On breaking the seal and pulling the tab, I lifted the lid and found an almost white ice cream in a large swirl with different coloured smarties nestling throughout. Some of the colours of the smarties had bled a little as should be expected but the ice cream still looked enticing. The 15 minutes drive home had left the ice cream at the perfect consistency for instant eating which I did with aplomb.
The ice cream had a fairly...

Ice-cream for Smartie Pants...
Review of Smarties Ice Cream in a Cone by
The-ex-Raven
Advantages: fun, good if you don't like eating the traditional edible 'cone'
Disadvantages: not that cheap.
... Smarties Push-Up ice-cream
We have tried the Smarties ice-cream cones, crunchy cones filled with broken smarties and topped with whole ones. We have also had the tubs full of broken smarties ice-cream. But these are something a bit more fun and different....
Cost
The boy got grandma to buy a pack on his last visit and they cost £2.49 for a box of 5 from Tesco. They are available in most supermarkets and frozen food places.
The ice-creams..
The box feature a picture of the ice-creams and states "No artificial colourings" Since they said goodbye to the Blue smarties. These are a 'Push-up' style ice-cream in a cardboard cylinder 'cone', each individual cardboard cone is about 10cm long and 90ml. They have an easy to remove foil top and feature a funky transparent plastic 'stick' tube at the end to hold...

Creamed my knickers over Snickers ice-cream
Review of Snickers Ice-Cream by
babajane32
Advantages: Delicious,tasty,very very tasty.
Disadvantages: High in calories,want more.
...on sale in the freezer shop were initially aimed at a foreign market as most of the information is in multi languages and only ingredients are ditinguishable along with temperature storage and maufacturer's address.
As I have already mentioned, my tub set me back a whopping 50 pence, but after browsing Tesco and Morrison's you can expect to pay up to £1.99 for the same tub.
Would I recommend this product? You bet I would...but not if you are on a diet, or allergic to nuts. It has certainly impressed me and is far nicer in taste, texture and quality than other equivalent ice cream products I have tried in the past.
I am however going to deduct one star for the fact that if you have to pay full price for a tub it is going to be quite expensive...but still worth it!
Right, I'm off to see if they've still got some in my local freezer...

Nice Ice Cream At Triple The Price.
Review of Haagen-Dazs Strawberry Cheesecake Ice Cream by
Andy.mack
Advantages: A nice creamy mix of Strawberry, Pecan Cookie and ice cream
Disadvantages: Becomes very sickly after too much
...I’m finding it pretty hard to write music ops at the moment, just haven’t got the time to do them, but I am managing to work my way through old half started ops that just need little bits adding to them to finish them off. This of course in one such op on Strawberry Cheesecake flavoured Haagen Dazs.
Now to be perfectly honest I am not usually one to buy expensive ice cream like your Carte D’or, Haagen Dazs or Ben & Jerry’s. I prefer your common Tesco type of ice cream, but recently after buying a pizza from Pap Johns I got a tub of ice cream free with it and as they only do Haagen Dazs I decided to go for this flavour. So liking Cheesecake and Strawberry’s I really couldn’t go wrong.
So having made myself comfortable in front of the Tele, I finished off the pizza and moved onto the desert. The tubs pretty simple holds about 500ml...

Ice Cream At Its Best!
Review of Snickers Ice-Cream by
motodoughnut
Advantages: Yummmmmy
Disadvantages: Bad for you
...PACKAGING
The Snickers Ice-cream packaging is much the same as a regular snickers; the wrapper is made of a kind of plastic material so its quite strong and will not fall apart, like a paper wrapper would, when it comes into contact with ice or water. The wrapper is mostly brown with some pictures of peanuts on it and Snickers written in big white letters on the front. If you buy them in a pack of four, the box has the same design but on a larger scale.
THE LOOK & TASTE
When you first unwrap a Snickers Ice-cream it looks just like a Mar Bar Ice cream but with lumps on the top (where the nuts are). The chocolate is shinier than a normal chocolate bar; this is because it has been frozen.
When you bite in to the snickers ice cream, inside the thin layer of chocolate on the outside is a chunk of luscious smooth vanilla ice...
