Trusty Tesco Value Thick sliced white Loaf.....
Review of Tesco Value White bread by  bobbetta

Advantages: Very Good price, Quallity seems to have improved
Disadvantages: Might need to use it quicker then other brands

...Over the past three and a half years that i've been living in my own place, budgeting for shopping etc I've always felt the need to hunt out food that is good value for money and the lower in price the better. I do have to admit over the years I would only resort to buying Tesco value bread when I really couldn't afford a better quality loaf and I rarely finished a loaf unless using it for toast as to me it had a horrible texture a strange smell aabot it, the bottom edge of the slice always had an un-appetising look about it -like it was coming away from the slice and was all dried up and horrible. HOWEVER!! What with CHRISTMAS coming up and having to stick to a tighter budget AGAIN!! so I can afford all those christmas pressies etc- I bought Tesco Value loafs in place of my usual loaf again.......Only to my suprise I found... Even the unwanted filling item was SLICED!!!!
Review of Peter's Chicken Tikka Slice by  welshwickedone

Advantages: See review
Disadvantages: See review

...finished and they were enjoying there food I would sit down and eat my slice. As usual, with most good intentions in my life, nothing ever goes according to plan and I ended up not getting a chance to eat my Tikka slice until after a Christmas shopping trip to Tesco. Still that shopping trip is another story, so back to my Tikka slice. It was around 8.30 that evening before I finally got a chance to even think about being hungry, and when I did, I was so hungry I ended up eating it alone rather than an accompaniment. As I ate the slice, at first I did not notice any difference and was really enjoying the taste of it. Then about half way through the slice as I took a bite, a long stringy piece from the slice began to drag out from the filling. At first, I thought it was a herb leaf that had missed the chopping process, or maybe an onion... Read review

Review of Weight Watchers Low Fat Carrot Cake Slices by  innercircle

Disadvantages: Too Small - 1 is not enough

...who have them on offer at £1.04 each or 2 for £1.50 so that’s more of a bargain. Tesco Value 2 slice toaster
Review of Tesco 2T05W Value W by  KatGray

Advantages: cheap, small, easy to use, does exactly what it says on the tin!
Disadvantages: gaps for toast not adjustable - may not fit large slices of bread?

...!) but it does exactly what it says on the tin - if you give it two slices of bread, it will toast them for you, and do a good job of it too. The only problem I can think of would be that maybe larger pieces of bread won't fit, as there are no fancy adjustable gaps. But as I've only used it in Switzerland, and they seem to have different sized bread over there, this hasn't been a problem for me. And now onto the important stuff - what do you get for my money?! A nice friendly 2 slice toaster with an easily removeable crumb tray. There aren't many fancy settings - it can toast, defrost or reheat, and that's your lot. The buttons are all pretty obvious, which is a very useful feature early in the morning! There are 5 time settings, and I tend to eat pretty skinny bread and number 3 does the job for me, so I reckon maybe number 4 should do... Read review

tesco.com - the best thing since sliced bread
Review of Tesco.com by  leebee81

Advantages: no trudging round the shops, evouchers
Disadvantages: none

...i have used onlne shopping previously to do my groceries in australia, using shopfast.com. i have also used sainsburystoyou.com here in the uk. by far, tesco.com is my prefered online grocery method. the website is layed out clearly, and works with safari for mac perfectly (unlike asda.co.uk which crashes everytime. it also doesnt like IE for mac). the shelves are named logical names - "specialty choc biscuits" is where the tim tams are, for example. they have a wide variety of items, brands and sizes. there is a seperate section for specials and BOGOF's, which lists ALL the offers and their expiry dates. delivery costs range from 3.99 to 5.99, depending on the time of delivery. i usually have the groceries delivered midweek to take advantage of the reduced delivery price. the deliveries have been ontime, and the one time... Best thing since sliced bread?
Review of Soreen Sliced and easy Malt loaf by  orlando

Advantages: Still good and sticky
Disadvantages: Not so much fun

...! Postscript: I was in the local garage trying to find a sandwich for lunch the other day. No sandwiches were left at 11.45am in the Express Tesco (?) but I spied a small packet of Soreen saying "2 malt loaf slices". I purchased them to eat in the car and, piece de resistance, they were even buttered!! Wonderful. Orlando :) 2004... Read review

• 1 lemon slice = 5 minutes of kissing!
Review of Mr Kipling Lemon Slices by  lora44

Advantages: They taste yummy, twin-wrapped, did I mention yummy?
Disadvantages: Well I can't think of any!

...; Every week the nation consumes 723,267 Mr Kippling Mini Battenbergs. Mr Kipling's exceedingly good cakes offer the promise of being as good as home-baked. In 1976 Mr Kipling became brand leader in the cake market, a position it still holds today about 30 years later. **What's a Lemon Slice?** Well, according to the packaging it's a 'lemon sponge with lemon water icing'. And well, that's a fairly decent description if you ask me. They come in a box of six and are twin-wrapped (see photo) which makes them perfect for lunchboxes and picnics and the like. Be careful though, if they find their way to the bottom of your bag then they will probably end up getting rather squished. Still, this is a handy new form of packaging as it keeps the slices fresher. The outer packaging is quite distinctive and you shouldn't have too much trouble... Read review

Sickly Sweet Tasty Treats
Review of Tesco Custard Slices by  Expired-Account

Advantages: Tasty, cheap
Disadvantages: Sickly sweet

...As most of you will know both me and my boyfriend have recently tried the Atkins diet, after weeks of being very strict with food intake, we had a big binge, takeaways and cakes, etc. Before we started the diet we used to eat far too much, we binged on things like cakes, one of my favourites being the Tesco's Custard Slices. I never had a custard slice until I met my boyfriend and he bought some one evening, I tried one and I was instantly hooked. The packaging of these tasty treats is fitting for the purpose but not particularly attractive or appealing. The box is mostly a yellow colour with a blue strip down one side, there is also the nutritional information shown on the front of the box and the ingredients and storage instructions on the underside. There is also a plastic window in the top of the box, which only really shows you... Read review

Its Time This Carrot Cruncher Got Healthy!!
Review of Tesco Healthy Living Carrot & Orange Cake Slices by  TeenyB

Advantages: Low in fat and calories, taste yummy, inexpensive
Disadvantages: Only available in Tescos - obviously!!

...had to find a good enough sample of the aforementioned cake so that I could make him eat it without him questioning what it was, but healthy now too - so allow me to introduce you to: - **** Tesco Healthy Living Carrot & Orange Cake Slices **** Yes, their title is a bit of a mouthful, so let me tell you the rest too! **** THE HEALTHY AISLE - WHERE TO FIND THEM **** As these are a Tesco own brand product then unfortunately you are a bit restricted in that you can only get them from Tesco - okay I had to point out the obvious there didn't I!! In my local Norwich branch of said supermarket, these delights can be found in the aisle next to the bread and rolls - where you will also find Birthday Cakes, Cake Mix and other healthy cake bars and slices (such as Weight Watchers, Go Ahead, and of course Tesco!!). **** THE PACKAGING... Is it a goldfish no its a peach slice.
Review of Princess tinned sliced peaches in syrup by  mumsymary

Advantages: good in a triffle
Disadvantages: syrupp sweet

...Princes Food Company has been in buisiness for 120 years, started in Liverpool canning fish. Princes do a range of canned fish, vegetable and fruits. When I was a nipper I remember mum buying princess tinned fruits for Sunday tea and special treats. I expect in the 1950's she thought it was a good brand. I was going to make a trifle the other day and bought a tin of Prices sliced peaches in syrup from Tesco' it cost me 26p for 227 g. not sure why I picked up the peaches in syrup these days if I am buying tinned fruit I usually buy one in natural juices less sugar. Princes make peaches in grape juice. Princes sliced peaches in syrup also comes in a 420g can costing 65p. If you want peach halves Princes also do those in syrup 74p for 420g. I used my tin of peaches to make a trifle but you can eat them on their own, or with cream... Read review
