Tesco Healthy Eating Sweet Chilli Chicken
Review of Tesco Healthy Eating Sweet Chilli Chicken by  macteykith

Advantages: sounds exotic, cheap
Disadvantages: WHERES THE CHICKEN!!!!!

...Not a fan of sweet chilli, I thought I would give this a go. It comes with a multibuy, 5 for £4. Firstly, yes its lowcal ( around 350) but thats because its high in salt and fat AND theres nothing in the box! Its a small portion, as always. Cooking by microwave is better than the oven, simply because the middle always ends up colder to the edges with these meals. It comes with noodles. Two separate bits, but of course, noodles and chicken dont cook at the same rate so you run the risk of having only one side done properly if you dont separate them out. You shouldnt have to do this, so is needless fussing and contadictory to the ' easy ready meal' idea. Smellwise, imagine boiled watery noodles, and thats your smell. Once cooked, assuming you havent lost half of it trying to serve it up, you then find... Read review

SweetTooth by name, SweetTooth by nature.
Review of My 10 Favourite Sweets by  SweetTooth93

Advantages: All my favourites
Disadvantages: Sugar, sugar, sugar, and more sugar.

...!! Foamy Sweets When I say foamy sweets, I mean the ones you get in pic and mix places. Such as the Pink shrimp or the foamy banana. I was recently delighted when in Tesco, when I saw a bag of Tesco Value Foamy fruits for 39p, i automatically ran to the till and bought them. They did taste pretty cheap, and pretty tasteless but I still thouroughly enjoyed them and they satisfyed my sweet tooth- even it was just for an hour or so! Shrimps, if you havnt had them before, are shrimp shaped (funnily enough) raspberry flavoured "tough" foamy sweets. Although I dont find they tend to taste to much like raspberry, or strawberry for that matter. These can usually be found in pic & mix places, such as Woolworths, Asda or your local Cinema. As with the foamy shrimps, bananas can also be found in most pic and mix places. These are quite large... Read review

Extraa! Extraa! Tesco Trash The Town
Review of Tesco (Shop) by  jouk04

Advantages: Plenty of choice
Disadvantages: Cloned shopping

...in the car park there is a small bunker type building with 2 ATM machines doling out money to customers, which is handy and a common feature at most new superstores. Moving inside the store it is very spacious and airy, the aisles are wide and the tills numerous, I’ve never seen so many checkouts, for a store this size. There is a café, a kiosk selling newspapers, tobacco, sweets, lottery tickets, and then the main store itself. The range of products in the store is very comprehensive, I remember when Tesco was almost exclusively a food and hardware store, but they have expanded, as have ASDA into electrical goods, and clothes, but as you would expect, this “jack of all trades”, approach does not inspire confidence, in some of the product lines. I’m not sure I would want to buy a loaf of bread, a pint of milk and a television set, all in one... Read review

Sweets, Sweets and More Sweets
Review of My 10 Favourite Sweets by  dibalmond

Advantages: I love Sweets
Disadvantages: No good for my teeth

...When I was a kid I loved sweets and nothing has changed, I have 2 kids of my own and I still love sweets. I have to watch what I eat now though because after years of abuse and many trips to the dentist my teeth cannot take the sugar as well as they used to. I know I will be giving my age away, but I can remember when I could buy threepence, (that’s in old money, pre decimalisation) worth of sweets and I could buy loads. My 10 favourite are as follows, ~~Dew Drops~~ These are not that easy to get hold of, I used to buy them loose in the days when most shops had the big jars of sweets and I could buy 2oz or 4oz depending on how much money I had. These are small pieces of fruit jelly covered in sugar. These days I sometimes buy them from the newsagent up the road or pinch them out of my daughter’s Dolly Mixtures... Read review

Super Simple Sugary Sweetness!
Review of My 10 Favourite Sweets by  faders321

Advantages: Delicious
Disadvantages: Bad for your teeth

...it is that they taste of but they are delicious. *~2~* My second favourite sweets are Dolly Mixtures, the best ones come from Tesco's and are really cheap but they taste better than the Bassetts ones which I think are gross. They consist of a white piece of sugary sweet and a coloured one with flavourings in either on top of each other or with the coloured when wrapped around the white. You also get little mini jellies and some cubes of very fine sugar coated in hard pink sugary sweet. If you buy them from Woolworths or CineWorld you get really cool bears made of jelly in them. My favourites are the little squares which are delicious but incredibly sugary!! I also love the jellies and particularly jelly bears. Out of the normal dolly mixtures my favourite is the purple flavour then the orange, I don't like the chocolate one though. *~3~* Jelly... Read review

Tescos Finest All Butter Croissants
Review of Tesco Finest Croissants by  SweetTooth93

Advantages: Georgous
Disadvantages: Costly

...have one of these now and again it will do you no harm in the slightest and definitely sustain your sweet, or should I say butter-loving tooth! Cost and Availability Obviously, as these are TESCO finest croissants, they are only going to be available in Tesco. However I am almost 100% sure that Asda, Sainsbury etc do there own brands of finest butter croissants so if you don't have a Tesco and wish to purchase a similar product I'm sure you wont have difficulty finding them. These cost £1.98 from Tesco. Not cheap no, we could have got 4 Tesco value croissants for 78p, but in my opinion they would be nowhere near as good as the ones in the finest range. So yes, they are expensive but I think they are definitely worth it for the pure pleasure of when you eat them. Would I recommend? Yes I would recommend... Read review

Tesco Versus Mr Kipling
Review of Tesco Bramley Apple Pies by  luckyarchers

Advantages: Good value for money.
Disadvantages: Not as good as home made.

...My family like apple pies. I know we would be better off just eating an apple, but if you are going to buy convenience apple pies anyway, hopefully you will find this review interesting. I buy individual apple pies, and have tried both Tesco and Mr Kipling. Here are my conclusions. **Look** A Draw The look of the top of the pies, with their light golden brown pastry, is the way I tell the two brands of pie apart, without their packaging. Mr Kipling tries to make the pie look similar to an apple by putting a pastry stalk in the middle of the top with a leaf shape made out of pastry next to it. Tesco has a pastry picture of an apple on top on their pies. While artistic tastes may vary, it doesn’t matter to me, as they both look good enough to eat! **Taste & Texture** A Draw The slightly dry, sweet pastry has... Read review

A quarter of rhubarb & custards please mister
Review of Tesco Sweet Shop Rhubarb & Custards by  chocliteclair

Advantages: traditional sweet, great taste, great price
Disadvantages: can pose a choking hazard for children, make your mouth sore

...Let me take you on a trip down memory lane with a review on one of my favourite boiled sweets, that despite never failing to give you a sore roof of your mouth are irresistible and very satisfying in the sugar rush department. TESCO SWEET SHOP - RHUBARB & CUSTARDS (NEW!) {packaging} They come in a red bag with an outline of a traditional sweetie jar on the front with a see through section in the middle so that it resembles a full jar of goodies! Also on the front is the description of the sweets and nutrition information based on what 3 sweets contain. On the reverse of the bag are the list of ingredients, allergy advice, full nutrition list, the Tesco promise, storage information and everything else you might need to know. {price} For 69p you receive a 227g bag, I’m not sure how many sweets that actually entails... A is for Acai. Tesco Superfruit Smoothie.
Review of Tesco Super Fruit Smoothie, Pomegranate, Bluberry + Acai by  spottydog2

Advantages: Tasty, healthy, easier than making your own.
Disadvantages: Naturally high in sugar.

...looking repulsive, though it is not what you would call an attractive looking smoothie. The consistency was good. There was enough body, not too thin but not thick and gloopy either. I have tried a lot of smoothies and I was impressed with this one. My son drinks Innocent kids smoothies and they are like J20 (his words not mine) which is too thin for me. He won`t drink the Tesco one. I have to buy the kids one for him, specially designed to have no bits. I don`t consider the Tesco superfruit smoothie to have bits in it as such but be aware, fussy children may not drink it. For me it is perfect. The taste is gorgeous. I can safely say that this is my favourite smoothie, certainly at the moment. It is quite sweet but not too sweet. I can taste the pomegranate and they are not sweet but mixed with the blueberry and acai... Read review

TESCO ONLINE - TORN BETWEEN LOVE AND HATE
Review of Tesco.com by  kismet

Advantages: shopping delivered to your door, so easy to use
Disadvantages: substitutions, missing items, late delivery, aaagh!!!

.... If out of stock you may be given a strawberry trifle. Not too much problem there (unless you hate strawberries). Sometimes though you are given stupid alternatives. I ordered 2 x 200g Kenco Really Rich as it was on offer. I was given 2 x 100g Kenco Really Rich, so was not even given the same amount. I ordered some potatoes with cheese and bacon and was given jacket potatoes with cheese, similar but not good enough. Another time I ordered 5 Tesco meals for £4 and they substituted Sweet & Sour Chicken for a different brand, not from the same range, which meant that I did not get the discount. However I telephoned them and they still applied the discount. I really annoyed the driver one day as I had ordered 10 bottles of diet coke and he brought in 5 with vanilla and 5 with lemon instead, so I made him take them all back. He... Read review
