Tesco Premium Tea Bags
Review of Tesco Tea Bags by
dannyjb123
Advantages: cheap, make a good brew
Disadvantages: not spring to mind straight away
...Tesco Premium Tea bags are described on the packaging as being;
"A blend of quality teas for a full flavour and a naturally refreshing taste."
The tea has a flavour strength of 2 so according to the key on the pack this is a medium strength tea.
The product is contained in a simple red box which contains the tea bags themselves which are wrapped in foil, presumably to retain freshness.
The tea bags themselves are of the round variety. I personally prefer this type as you seem to get much more flavour from each bag than you can usually get out of a square tea bag.
I have found the tea to be tasty, refreshing and leaves no bitter aftertaste even when left in a pot for a long time.
As someone who likes their tea strong I would recommend that boiling water is poured slowly onto the tea bag to release the full flavour...

Berry Tea Bags :)
Review of Tesco Red Berries Flavoured tea bags by
mints4merlin
Advantages: Cheap as - um, teabags :) Value for money, and tasty
Disadvantages: Stain! Tea bags drip
...Place of purchase: Tesco
Weight: 50g Box
Number in Box: 20
Cost: 54p
Suitable for Vegetarians: yes
A bargain box of 20 teabags from Tesco own Brand line for only 54p which is a bargain compared to other products on the market such as Dr Stuarts, Twinings, and Tetley teabags which for the same quantity and flavour will have you paying anything up to £1.49 for a herbal brew!
Appearance:
Triangular pyramid shaped tea bags, the colour of the dry contents is a brown and dark red mixture of crunched up twig like stuff in a white paper tea bag.
Appearance when brewed is that the water turns a deep dark blood red and looks a bit like steaming red wine - the intensity of this colour depends upon how long you leave the tea bag in for. My prefered duration of brewing for this particular flavour of tea is about 2 minutes but you...

Tesco value tea - low cost high value !
Review of Tesco Tea Bags by
DrBob2k8
Advantages: great taste, low cost
Disadvantages: aroma from box a little stale, sometimes you suffer stray pieces of leaves.
...Tea different types, different brands where do we begin!
In this Tea review I would like to discuss 'Tesco Value Tea Bags'. At one point I was in the search of a low cost but decent cup of tea and was considering how we are often driven to buying certain things due to their highly thoughout advertising then again 'Value' ranges are also cleverly marketed as 'value' which is appealing to those who want low cost no frills purchases - either way we fall into the trap of clever marketing!
Away I went and picked up a white with blue stripes box which stated "Tesco value tea bags" and contained 80 bags - at under 50p was this real ?!.... Actually yes!
I opened the box and was greeted by 80 square tea bags which were in two piles (each pile was stuck together but had perforations so you could tear the bags apart) there was a subtle...

Tea for Tea
Review of Tesco Tea Bags by
Tea65
Advantages: Good tea
Disadvantages: None
...Tea has got to be my all time favourite drink; some friends of mine even speculated that my nickname came about because of my love of it, unfortunately no. Hence forth, I have decided to tell you all about Tesco's Tea Bags and promise no to be boring or sound like my granny. If you are sitting comfortably and have said cuppa to hand then I'll begin.
The History
----------------
According to a 5000 year old legend, Shen Nung, an early emperor of China was an accomplished ruler, creative scientist and patron of the arts. As part of his ruling, he required that all drinking water be boiled as a hygienic precaution.
One day while visiting a distant region of his territory, he and the court stopped to rest. In accordance with his ruling, the servants began to boil water for the court to drink as it was boiling a few dried leaves...

Finest Tea... but at a Price!
Review of Tesco Tea Bags by
rowei
Advantages: Nice aroma and taste
Disadvantages: Expensive
...temples and domes. I am not normally a sucker for packaging, but the picture on the front of the box was very eye-catching indeed. As I looked more closely, I discovered that, to my delight, the box actually contained Tesco Finest* Assam Tea Bags... 50 of them to be precise. Without even checking the price, I popped a box in my basket and carried on shopping.
When I got to the till and checked my receipt, I was a bit perturbed to find out that the teabags had actually cost me a whopping £1.19! For 50 teabags, this seems a bit excessive, especially when you can get a similar box of 50 teabags in Morrisons for 69p! But then I remembered that they were part of Tesco's Finest range... Items in this range always cost more than the standard own label brand, so I guess that Tesco can justify charging the higher price. Anyway, that was a couple...

Bag It Up
Review of Tesco Tea Bags by
aspebbles
Advantages: Good price for a decent cuppa
Disadvantages: Non recyclable packaging
...I love a decent cup of tea.
While not exactly a scientific survery, over past 6 months I have sampled the following brands, including the above mentioned Tesco tea bags: PG Tips Pyramids, Sainsbury's Red Label and Tesco Value (which pretty much encompasses the good, the bad and the ugly of bog standard household tea bags). Out of them all, I reckon ordinary Tesco tea bags come out pretty well.
For the record, this is a plain round tea bag that has a decent taste - no strings, no pyramids, no triangular bags or special perforations.
As I am pretty stingy and like to reuse (or at least not overdo the number of bags per pot), I find can generally get nearly two mugfulls out out of each bag (mean, or what?) This means a packet of 40 bags can be stretched quite far. I like my cuppa medium strength, milk but no sugar, thanks...

Tea Bags - Twinings, Luxury In My Mug!
Review of Twinings Everyday Tea Bags by
grown_up_girlie
Advantages: Stress Relief In A Mug!
Disadvantages: Can be slightly higher in price!
....
**Packaging**
Being sold in boxes of 40, 80 or 160 teabags you cannot miss the distinct packaging on the shop shelving. A bright yellow box with a gold band running horizontally across it displays the brand name of 'Twinings'. The image of a cup of tea being poured straight from the teapot on the front cover is enough to get your mouth watering. I am proud to display my box of 80 teabags to the world…. Yes I am a tea snob!
**Cost**
Available now nationwide you can pick up a box at any supermarket chain store.
Asda sells these in boxes of:
80 Teabags - 250g for £1.43
160 Teabags - 500g for £2.73
You can check online prices at:
www.asda.co.uk
www.tesco.co.uk
www.sainsbury.co.uk
Slightly more priced than your average branded 'Tea Bags', I can assure you that they are like no other and are well worth the few extra pennies...

Peach & Vanilla Tea Bags
Review of Tetley Peach & Vanilla Tea Bags by
mints4merlin
Advantages: Calorie free, peachy taste is delish! and box is one not to ashamed of
Disadvantages: caffinene, more expensive than own brand tea
...Tetleys Teabags, although more expensive than other types avaliable in the supermarkets, such as own brands. They do look better in your trolley/ basket/ shopping bags and in your cupboard at home. The need to hid them under mars bars or frustratingly dispose of the box as fast as possible upon returning home is removed when purchasing these. As tetleys is a well known and respected Brand Name, although not considered as posh a brand name as Twinings, it's still alot less frowned upon than Tesco Value.
Place of purchase: Tesco Extra
Weight: 40g Box
Number in Box: 20
Cost: 79p
Suitable for Vegetarians: yes
However, for this piece of mind and respect from fellow shoppers you must pay the price - literally, these are almost twice as expensive as a pack of the same size and quantity of an Own branded product.

Ewww... Tetley Lemon Tea bags :(
Review of Tetley Lemon Tea Bags by
mints4merlin
Advantages: Tetleys brand so look good in basket/ trolley
Disadvantages: taste bitter, more expensive than plain teas
...in the slightest. Of all the herbal teas - of which i am a fan these are the only ones i would recommend no one tried. Even if you try to drink them with some chocolate digestives or jaffa cakes - the horrid taste is not disguised!
Herbal Teas are extremely low in calories, but i wouldnt say that suffering a cup of this rancid lemon tea every day is worth saving a few calories! The other ones in this range are alot more palletable and are actually much better if you want a warm and low fat/ calories beverage.
Smell:
A strong lemony aroma like the pancake Jif juice - actually quite pleasant a smell but no one in their right mind would buy tea bags, brew them and have the cups just hanging around on the sheves and sides of their house just so the place smells nice!
Overall a 2* rating , a tea to avoid, despite being healthy, no additives, low...

"we all agree, Tetley make tea bags, make tea!"
Review of Tetley Tea Bags by
lipsalve
Advantages: Refreshing and mellow.
Disadvantages: Occasional floaty bits from bag, but this may be my tea making mess-ups!
...I don't run out of tea bags very often (except when my tea mad parents are visiting!), but today I found just a few left at the bottom of the caddy, so I put 'tea bags' on my shopping list, and looked for good old 'Tetley's' in the shop.
Today's purchase was a bag of 160 teabags from Safeway supermarket at the price of £2.67. Oh, and it also had a free decaffeinated tea bag sample attached to the top!
************* Why the Tetley brand is the brand for me *******
I do not buy any other tea brand now, because I have become very fond of the lovely smooth and mellow flavour that Tetley provides. My particular taste in tea is for a refreshing drink. I can not stand strong tea. Some brands I find leave a bitter aftertaste in the back of the throat, whereas Tetley is much milder.
*********** Why tea bags...
