Tesco Kids Mildmint Toothpaste
Review of Tesco Kids MildMint Toothpaste by  Lucille

Advantages: Good fluoride protection
Disadvantages: Very strong taste

...I have brushed my two year old daughter's teeth ever since they first appeared. She has always been very good about this, not minding the brush and always opening her mouth wide. I have always use Colgate kids toothpaste, mainly because I had a free sample in the bounty pack I was given in hospital, but also because it's an established name, which I trusted. However, a couple of weeks ago, when I went shopping to replace her toothpaste, they were out of stock of Colgate. I needed some, so brought Tesco own brand Kids Mildmint Toothpaste. It didn't have an age range on the tube, but I assumed that as it was a kids toothpaste, it would be fine. Once I started using it I noticed a change in my daughter's behaviour when trying to clean her teeth. She would cry and scream, and keep her mouth closed tight. It was turning our morning... Tesco Toothpaste
Review of Tesco Total Care Fresh Mint Toothpaste by  otherapy

Advantages: Handy pump action tube
Disadvantages: rubbish toothpaste

...I have been using Tesco Total Care toothpaste for about 3 month now, and i do not mind admitting it is rubbish. This toothpaste comes in a very handy pump action tube. This is a good way of getting your toothpaste out and it beats those days of trying to squeeze the last morsels out of the regular tubes. Unfortunatley, thats the only good point about it, the pump nozzle gets clogged quickly with residual toothpaste and needs cleaning every few days. The toothpaste is useless. Yes, it has a minty taste not to strong, but this quickly fades when brushing. Somehow you never have confidence with this toothpaste to open your mouth long after brushing. Certainly its cleaning potential is very poor, i would argue next to nothing despite 3 times a day with an electric toothbrush for the recommended 2 minutes each brush. The label... Read review

Tesco Freshmint toothpaste
Review of Tesco Daily Care Freshmint Toothpaste by  roxanne_m7699

Advantages: Does the job
Disadvantages: slight sugary feeling

...Tesco Freshmint toothpaste Always one for value, Tesco's have their own branded toothpaste to compete with some of the larger, well known dental care brands at more than a fraction of the cost. I have previously always been someone who goes for the more expensive sort, not wanting to risk my teeth at the hands of a lesser known brand. However, when in tesco's the last time I could not find any buy one get on free's on the normal name brand products that I buy, plus I was on a budget, so I figured, if I can use tescos everything else, why not toothpaste too. The packaging is your standard cardboard rectangle box green in colour, with a flip lid tube inside. It claims to strengthen and remineralise tooth enamel, remove plaque and reduce plaque acid, provide long lasting protection for your teeth and gums along with keeping... Read review

Lies, damned lies, and toothpaste marketing.
Review of Macleans Remineralise Toothpaste by  peteshone

Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Expensive for a generic toothpaste with a different flavour

...When you buy a toothpaste called 'Remineralise', what exactly are you expecting? Perhaps that the toothpaste will somehow do some remineralising? Of what? How? And what is remineralising anyway. The dictionary definition of remineralise is.... 1. To replace the depleted mineral content of bones, teeth, etc. intr 2. Said of bones, teeth, etc: to regain or replace depleted minerals Fantastic... toothpaste that will repair my teeth. Just what I've been waiting for, no more trips to the dentist for fillings, I'll use this toothpaste and all will be fine! I bought this on - don't laugh - a buy one get one free offer at Tesco, £1.99 for 100ml tube. So I had two tubes of the stuff... I thought my filling filled teeth would be repairing themselves overnight! I Presume you can buy this anywhere as it's a Macleans (GSK) product... Read review

I'm now (almost) a one toothpaste person
Review of Colgate Oxygen Toothpaste by  AnnieB11

Advantages: Great taste, smell and freshness
Disadvantages: Could have longer lasting freshness

...Whilst recently doing my shopping at Tesco, I saw the "Colgate Oxygen" toothpaste and decided to give it a try. Well I have been using it for just over a month now and am I impressed - you bet I am. Now being one of those most anti-social of people - a smoker...... I usually brush my teeth twice, both morning and evening, once with Eucryl toothpowder and once with a normal toothpaste. After having used Colgate Oxygen for a couple of weeks, I stopped using the Eycryl toothpowder in the mornings and a week after that, I stopped using it every evening too and now I use it just once a week ( as a sort of "top up" - more out of habit - I can't quite get used to not having to using it at all just yet). Colgate in it's own right is a well known and trusted brand and one of just a couple of brands I have used for years, I have... Read review

Oven Cleaner? Paint Stripper? No....Toothpaste!!
Review of Tesco Extra Care Extreme Whitening by  bigush

Advantages: Cheap and effective
Disadvantages: Don't swallow!

...I smoke roll-ups. I drink bible black coffee. I drink cheap red wine. I sometimes have Guinness and black pudding for breakfast. Yes, I know I don't have long to live but while I'm here I would like to do something about the stains that this lot cause on my teeth. Because of my auto-destructive lifestyle I have to use the more serious end of the toothpaste spectrum; the tubes with 'whitening' written on the side. I used to use Eucryl tooth powder until they discovered it was basically sandblasting the enamel off your teeth. These days I go for the aforementioned 'whitening' toothpastes. As well as being suicidal I'm tight-fisted so I tend to buy own-brands, their usually being much cheaper and my own-brand of choice up until recently was Superdrug Whitening, 89p. However, on a trot around Tescos last week I noticed they do two... Read review

A sensitive issue.
Review of Tesco Total Care-Sensitive Toothpaste by  SueLiz

Advantages: It works ,not too expensive.
Disadvantages: Top of tube gets a bit messy.

...Every time I eat a crispy apple or bite an ice lolly , you will soon hear the sound of me saying ouch and holding the side of my mouth. This is because I suffer with sensitive teeth. This lead me to searching for a toothpaste for sensitive teeth. I tried various ones including Macleans, Oral B and Sensodyne. I would say that they probably all work to about the same degree and apart from not liking the flavour of the Sensodyne original ( sort of slightly medicine like taste.), they were all fine . Unfortunately they were all rather expensive too, so I set about looking for another option. I came upon Tesco’s own brand , “ Tesco total care, Senstive toothpaste with Fluoride.” ~~~Background Information~~~~ I won’t say too much about this but I was curious why some people suffer with sensitive teeth. This is a bit of what I found... Read review

Hubba bubba...
Review of Tesco Kids Bubble Fruit Sparkling Gel Toothpaste by  danielalong

Advantages: Great sweet taste
Disadvantages: not a squeaky clean feeling

...Toothpaste Little Miss is particularly fussy about her toothpaste, claiming that the minty tooth paste is too fizzy… I have tried to explain that she won't be able to use bubble gum flavour all her life, but in response to the inevitable "why?", I have no answer. We usually use a princess inspired toothpaste but when we had run out and couldn't find any in the local Tesco shop, she had to accept that it was this one or mint toothpaste. Naturally, she went for the Bubble Fruit. ~~The Important bits…~~ The toothpaste has been developed specially for children's teeth, and should keep their teeth and gums healthy. If used regularly, then it should protect against cavities, strengthen and remineralise tooth enamel, and remove plaque. It does contain fluoride and calcium, so all good stuff. ~~Product and Packaging... Read review

Bright White Smile
Review of Tesco Daily Care Freshmint Toothpaste by  ms19

Advantages: cleans teeth, good value for money
Disadvantages: doesn't perform miracles

...to not like using that but then I was on a budget and decided to go to Tesco and resort to their toothpaste. I decided on their Daily Care Fresh mint toothpaste which is a 50g tube which is about average. It comes in a green box and the actual packaging for it is a green tube with the Tesco logo in blue to the left and in dark blue text Daily Care is written. It claims this is for strong, clean and healthy teeth which needed to be put to the test before confirmed. So the test had come the tube is closed quite tightly but it is as simple as any tube you squeeze to get the product to come out. The toothpaste smells really minty as most do and is a thick white paste. I put about a pea sized amount onto my tooth brush then run it under the tap just so the toothpaste would foam up a bit. I started brushing and soon the toothpaste had foamed up... Read review

Go Bananas!
Review of Tesco Banana Milkshake Kids Toothpaste by  mummy2harry

Advantages: Nice taste and smell, cheap, encourages teeth brushing
Disadvantages: Screw Cap

...Harry has never really been keen on brushing his teeth, but at the moment it seems a constant struggle for us to get his mouth open to even get the toothbrush in! I've tried many different toothpastes to get him to like brushing his teeth but nothing seemed to work. But I went to Tesco last weekend and saw this new Kids toothpaste in 'Banana milkshake' flavour for a bargain price and knowing how much Harry loves all things banana, I figured it was worth a try! As I mentioned, the flavour of the toothpaste is 'Banana Milkshake' and is a toothpaste aimed at young children. The tube doesn't state an age range which I think is a bit silly as there is no guidance for parents so I would therefore guess it would be suitable for all age groups. It comes in a bright yellow tube with a picture of a smiling banana on the front. The bright tube... Read review
